- Though I’ve never been one to celebrate Valentine’s Day, making this coif may have just changed my perspective on all things heart-adorned. I can’t remember the last time I’ve created something that has equally delighted and frustrated me as much as this one has.
I planned on doing this design months ago but procrastinated on it until last week when I decided to ignore all of my better judgment and attempt to craft a 50+ hour project in less than 5 days. Now that the week has finally ended, and my body, mind, and spirit are all utterly exhausted from the unnecessary turmoil I put myself through, I have to admit, it was all worth it.
Now that I’ve seen this piece come to life, I cannot help but dream of creating an entire Queen of Hearts chainmaille ensemble.

As an avid crocheter, I'm in love with the look. I need to see a piece with a mix of crochet and chain links in a full suit of armor. The contrast in texture, patterns and appearance would be beautiful 😊
that sounds incredible!! ☺️ knitted maille is actually a pretty common practice when it comes to screen and stage adaptations of chainmaille since it's lighter and quieter than the real thing! the most notable may be in monty python and the holy grail if you are interested in taking a look ✨

I just started crocheting a year or 2 ago and do it daily, and it was all I could think about watching this. I thought crochet or knitting was a painstakingly repetitive hobby but my goodness!! I can’t imagine pliers for every single “stitch” basically. I had to get arthritis gloves after my first couple of weeks crocheting bc I was so sore lol I’d be broken for sure if I tried this!! But it’s gorgeous and truly an art form. My friend used to do it and I knew it was a lot but for some reason it didn’t hit me until now it’s a LOT a lot lol. Kudos for creating such a cool piece and hats off for the dedication and commitment haha definitely going to watch more of your videos!

@@Sara-xk1ns I have carpal tunnel in both hands from a combo of writing and drawing (clearly I have a vendetta against my wrists lmao) so you're a literal saint for this. I have wrist braces but they're just awkward to wear and prevent me from doing literally Anything with my hands while they're on, and aren't really great to sleep in either. I'm definitely gonna try compression gloves!!

I am obsessed with the concept of princess knights. I've never considered the idea of being able to have "printed" chain mail, but now that i've seen this, I have so many potential character design ideas and i'm so excited!!!! Thank you for sharing this!!!!

I'm more into daggers but swords are beautiful too. I've always liked the way the Assassins were dressed in Assassins creed when I was a kid and their weapons, I have 3 older brothers so games are my interest lol and since I was like 9 I grew up to love everything historical. this just shows how much games affect a child's brain, if I had sisters I wonder if I might've grew up more feminine, because people look at me weirdly when I say I love knives 🤔
