Excellent interview. Perfect ending Toure. Students complete years of education and never really learn history. I was a double major in political science and history during college, so I have strong feelings about this topic.
    Thank you

    Good point Reed:
As time goes on, things aren't automatically getting better.
    Our political revolution continues..

This concept is why I hate the MLK quote: “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice” because it just seems inevitable if we don't give up. It's not that simple.

History isn't written by the winners, it's TOLD by the winners. When it's time to write it with perspective and hindsight, the truth almost always emerges. Time is on the side of Truth.

Touré Reed's description of inclusivity as a weapon of hegemony is spot on. This is what the Bernie supporters understand implicitly and why they/we reject the fake concern of the corporate Democratic Party. Put another way, the American ruling class fears nothing more than whites and blacks finding commonality through social class. The entire American society is structured around individual consumer choice, which expands into political economy via the same pathways as marketing and advertising. There is absolutely no space in American public life for social class as an explicit identity. The net result is that people talk about the trees, but never the forest.

A lot of today's maladies didn't exist millennia ago. Many freedoms we had, we no longer have!
