So a funny thing is that I live in QLD outback and I was so worried 😯 about the food and the temperature. But knowing that they native to my area so relieving. 😊 so now I'm going to get myself a female. So thank you
Thanks so much for this video because sometimes i think my bugs are dead because they lie on their back and mine are called samual and barley they are brown spiny leaf insect females
I've had roughly 50 of these hatch, every single one has died. I tried less humidity, more humidity, and they still keep dying. I'm doing everything correctly. I have a lot of experience with breeding stick insects. But I need help figuring out why/how they keep dying? Thanks
Stick insects don’t live especially long, if you’ve been keeping them a long time and they are adults they could simply be dying of old age. If they are very young and just dropping dead then something is wrong. Sometimes pesticides can be an issue if you feed them plants that have been sprayed. Mould and fungus is another thing to watch out for though from my experience keeping Australian spiny stick insects they don’t like high humidity anyway so mould shouldn’t be much of an issue
I am looking for information on eggs I have bought for phylium gargantium leaf insect ,because of length of hatch time ,I need the absolute perfect environment to keep them at
@@quinnblackheart5748 there so cheap and answer to your problem , there adorable no one could not see cuteness in a ghost mantice ,but they eat tonnes of fruit flies and harm nothing else
@@quinnblackheart5748 there's not a single day I don't miss mine ,just getting fruit flies pain in asse ,try it ,your lucky to be in a position to not find fruit flies a problem ,get some they will melt your heart
Mine are brown too. The green ones are lichen colour morph. The only way to get the colour morph is to keep them in an environment with lots of lichen or other greenery. I’ve heard some strains are also more prone to the lichen morph than others
@@theonemrtom101 yep I can relate. Unfortunately at the moment I only have male Australian spiny stick insects so no eggs but I have female Indian stick insects and they breed like mad. I’ve probably got at least over 50 now (I started with three females and this is the 3rd generation from those original three). I tried to control the number of eggs by getting rid of a few (crushing them) but they lay so many that there’s always some that get missed. And obviously you have to be super careful not to accidentally throw away any eggs when your cleaning them out because they could then hatch in the wild and become an invasive species
The stick insects are sooo cute 😍
That green spiny leaf insect is adorable 😊

Great video. Another thing we can't have here.
Where can you suggest I get an enclosure for great thin stick insects? Remulus nemotodes

That’s strange, what’s there set up like? What are you feeding them? Do you spray them with water ?
That’s ironic. You’ve got lots of experience breeding them yet they’re continuing to die.

Can I hatch giant leaf insect In a humid environment at between 25 and 27 degree c please
To get lichen colours they have to of been brought up around lichen or so ive heard I wouldn't quote me on that tho
Yes that’s true ☺️ it’s not genetic it’s environmental
I have a question! Ive read somewhere that if you dont want your eggs to hatch you freeze them, if its true how long do i have to freeze them?
48 hours 🙂
Oh princess of bugs please help me ,

do you sell your stick insect eggs?
They haven’t laid any eggs yet but I’ll be putting some up for sale if they do 🙂 they will be parthenogenic too so only female offspring.
Damn, where are people like you when I have eggs, I have a hard time getting rid of them🤣
