Nice comparison. Just one additional piece of information: although the RF 50mm lens does not have IS, it seemingly passes on additional motion data to the R5/R6 IBIS. Canon's data sheet claims this lens gets 7 stops of image stabilisation when paired with either of those cameras. I have also seen a video where a Canon representative said the same thing.
I got distracted part-way through watching the video. I can't remember if you mentioned the RF lens has a slightly smaller closest focusing distance.
If the control ring had been seperate to the focus I could justify the added cost, but having to switch between it being a focus or control ring takes away that feature, bad move. On a good note, my ef 50mm on my r6 is like a different lens using ibis and having the control ring on my converter.
Sir I have canon eos m100 can I attache RF 50 mm lense without adapter it is possible because EF lense need adapter ??
Hello mate, Not unfortunately you cannot. you have to use the adapter
Would either of these work for my canon eos rebel t7i?
The Canon EF 50mm F/1.8 STM but the RF then will not. It’s lenses just for mirrorless cameras
If we compare the RF 50mm f / 1.8 and the EF 50mm f1.4 in terms of image quality, which one has the best optics and image quality?
Congratulations on the video.
I would say the RF50mm 1.8. The image quality out of the EF50mm 1.4 is disappointing for the price. Its a soft lens with high vignetting problems
Can I use the rf with eos 800
You can but only with the adapter. As you have the 800D I would suggest buying the EF 50mm as there will be no need for an adapter, it can fit right onto your camera body! Hope this helps 🙏🏻
@@PhotoFeaverIt is Impossible to fit RF lenses in EOS cameras.
Would this lens work with 6d?
Thanks for the comment! If you have a canon 6D then the mount for that camera body is the EF lens range! The only EF lens's that don't fit on your camera body is the EF-S and EF-M lens mounts! Hope I was able to help :)
@@PhotoFeaver Thank you for your comment. I was asking about the RF lenses. Do you need a special mount to make hem work on 6d?
@@plantpoweredmuscle Just buy an EF lens?? haha If you want the RF lens buy a mirrorless camera.... come on dude..
Sir I have canon 1500d can i use Rf 50mm F1.8 lens
No
Of couse not!
I love how people rag on the control ring hahaha its funny how every Sony lens with a ISO ring is praised. Yet, Canon have this on all RF lens and people hate it hahahaha
Can i use rf 50mm on my canon 90d ??
No unfortunately you cannot! If you take a look at the Canon 90D specification page you will see that the lens mount is EF/EF-S, not RF in your case! Hope this helps! Here's the link to the 90D tech specs page:www.canon.co.uk/cameras/eos-90d/specifications/
@@PhotoFeaver thank you so much ❤️
@@thegallant7152 No problem!
