Can you PLEASE do another one of these collection videos again?? The way you organize inspired how I do my collection and would love to see any progress or updates!
I am the numerical guy, year and sets, I have the 2 and 3 chamber shoe boxes for top loaded with homemade tabs for players and sports. Then a special "Forever PC" box. Please make another one of these. I love seeing how other people organize. Building 3 display cases for my stuff this summer.
I'd like to see how you guys have your baseball room set up, looking for some good ideas, I'd show mine but it is packed, got to do something different.
Awesome collection! I organize by player and by set. Higher value cards are in magnetics or toploaders. Lower value star cards are in binders by player and team. Commons go in monster boxes. I also place prospects & rookies in penny sleeves in separate monster boxes. I go back 5 years for those then once a year if they haven't made it they are moved to the commons box. Great video!
Great video! The display case is very nice. I'm with you in that if displaying your cards brings you enjoyment, then do it! Love your 54' Aaron rookie. I'm on the hunt for one of those in about a PSA 2.5 or 3. FYI, the 1955 Topps Aaron also has the same picture of The Hammer! #vintageforever
+Joey Brings it As you can see from my collection, I'd rather have a 1.5 perfectly centered than a 3 that is way off center. Aaron rookie is a great investment in my opinion. Good luck and always look forward to your videos.
For most of my high end cards, especially rookie cards, I store them in either #UltraPro 1-screw screwdowns and #ProMold 1=screw screwdowns. I also buy Ultra-Pro 100ct pack of Graded Card Sleeves to store those screwdowned cards. For most of my common cards, I use Ultra-Pro 250-ct Clear Plastic Box Cubes to store bulk amounts them. Very creative and fun to do. I love this video and the advice you stated about placing common cards into a pennysleeve inside a top-loader.
Awe3some video and great subject. I would love to see an updated version of it. We've been 3 years since you shot this. I wonder if you still organize them the same and what the room looks like now. BTW... If you ever want to give away another binder, I'm your guy!!! lol
Awesome! I just started collecting again and my plan for storage is to keep everything from a particular set in its own box. Then divide them by the common base cards, RC cards, SP/SSP, rares, and then autos/relic..... that's the plan anyway. I have only opened 4 blaster box's so far but have got some decent pulls.
Interesting! That display case looks great. I organize cards that are for sale/trade by value, but for the PC it's different. Most of my PC is HoF rookies, and they're organized by year/set. Then I have a section for beat up Ernie Banks cards (long story), a section for non HoF stars by year/set, a section for food cards by year/set, then a section for miscellaneous modern cards (mostly rookies) also by year/set. When I buy modern packs/boxes, I pull all rookie cards and box them up to hang onto for a few years to see if they pan out.
Thanks for sharing. I just put up 2 of those cases today. my ungraded cards are in binders by AL NL divisions, east west central. Then A's cards in binders 1968-present.
How do you organize little tikes? JK. IM A SET collector n valuable cards in sleeves. So all my cards are raw in a box except my Mantles in PSA. Starting to do some players. I have a large Reggie Jackson collection in a binder. All other cards in shoebox. Bought my ticket for the AC National for Friday n live in NJ.
Great video! New to the hobby, With a few exceptions, I don't plan on going on and buying high end cards. I plan on keeping it simple, I want binders of: World series teams, and AL/NL All-star line ups each year going forward. All Yankees, Cardinals, possibly a H.O.F. Section for all of baseball. I like found the 'Topps Now" stuff interesting to keep track of milestones and moments. ANY tips are appreciated! Hope to hear back
Ryan - Thanks so much for watching! I think you are definitely going down the right track. The most important part is collecting what you like and keeping it simple. I actually think it is better to buy low-end stuff as you get familiar with the hobby anyways. I just recommend that you look at ebay sales before making a purchase...get an understanding of what other people are paying before making your first purchase. I see that you already watched my advice video...maybe also checkout my Q&A video. Thanks again for watching...stay tuned for further videos!
i mainly collect hockey insert cards but i do have some baseball, if an insert set is 10 cards i put the cards i have into a 10 count box, 20, 50, 100 card set into the same size boxes...you get the idea. if i open packs and get a lot of the same base cards they go into a binder in order, when i get an insert set complete i write the name, year and what insert set it is and what the price guide value for that set is (eg: 08/09 UD HOCKEY HEROES SIDNEY CROSBY COMPLETE SET 10 CARDS BV$ 150.00)
Great video. Good catch on the 54 and 56 Aaron (both used the same photo which I also never noticed). About getting the 85 McGwire graded - only if its a 10. A 10 is selling between $600-800 these days but a 9 is at around $25. Again, only if its a 10. A 93 Jeter SP is a PSA 10 actually sells for $33,000 every time.Crazy huh. Anyways - Great video and thanks for sharing.
+Foo3112 Haha i'm with you on the McGwire...it really comes down to the breakpoint though. Sometimes PSA will do a special where it is 7 dollars if you submit 30 cards. If I need a couple of cards to get past the breakpoint the McGwire might be thrown in there to get to the minimum.
hi im Eric and im 12 years old. i have 2 full boxes filled with unopened packs and a binder and another box that are opened with cards. i dont have any auto graphs, for baseball, but 1 for bball. i really like that frame thing on the wall. My parents and brother has so much cards aswell! and can you please tell me how you get cards grated?
Hi Eric! That is awesome that you collect! I get my cards graded by going to baseball card shows and dropping them off there. That is much easier to me then shipping them out to PSA. Have your parents look into a card show near you. Happy collecting!
SportsPC09 Well the way that I have it is a separate section for 5, 6, 8, 10, 12. If for some reason there was a 7 dollar card it would go in the 6 section because it is 6 dollars or higher to 8. It depends on how many sections you want. you might just want to go with 5 dollars and higher and then a 10 dollars and higher
Hey Joe, great cards! I'm going to start doing video's as well. question where do you get that black box for your cards on ebay? I cant seem to find something like that anywhere. thanks
hey I love watching your videos. I am thinking about doing a video of how I organize my cards. I will let you know if I do. you have an amazing collection
Thanks so much man. Sorry I only have one really low quality video of half those cards I do not own anymore. Is there any other way that we could communicate. Do you have an instagram? If you font you should really consider getting one it is real easy to use and a great way to share a collection
wow, that is a lot of organizing! Nice work....I typically organize according to Beckett value, from highest to lowest....with the exception of the Mets cards, which I separate.....quick question, does PSA accept toploaders for grading, I have herd a variety of opinions on this, mostly that you need ULTRA PRO thicker plastic...thanks in advance.
You can absolutely submit in top loaders. I’ve probably submitted 70 - 80 cards in top loaders without issue to PSA...same for BGS by the way. Thanks for watching!
Oops...my wife bought it for me. I'm pretty sure it is this though... www.amazon.com/Lockable-Football-baseball-basketball-cards-OAK/dp/B0033RZM00/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1468452035&sr=8-8&keywords=baseball+card+display+case
+jmaal2345 No, I don't sell any of my cards. I just hold onto them. Good luck on the Trout rookie. I mentioned it into my comment to Foo but in my opinion it is best to hold off until you have a bunch of cards to submit at once so you take advantage of the minimum break points. Example it is 20 dollars for one card but if you submit 30 it is 7 dollars per card. Glad you enjoyed the video and please let me know if you post any videos yourself.
+sniper5880 Both would be great cards to own and fantastic investments but I'd much rather own a Hank Aaron 1975 PSA 9. If you can get a star vintage card in a PSA 9 then that is something special.
SilverJackify And who would you rather have a vintage PSA 9 Hank Aaron or a PSA 9 Willie Mays? I think May's cards go for just slightly more. Personally I like Hank better as player which is just my opinion
My biggest fear...is sunlight. I live on the top floor of a high-rise and I like having my curtains open in daytime. I'd love to have a nice display... but I'm sure the sun would just about get on every wall. Maybe at some future time I can set up a display. Most of my collection is in ultra pro pages in binders... I might move some out into separate holders. It's always work in progress.
Hi I've been collecting for a while and how do you get your older high end cards i can't find any older packs 1985 and back. Also I would like to buy a ken griffey jr. Rookie. I loved the video☺☺
Bowser Jr.5437 it depends on how much the card is worth. the psa website tells you specifically how much you have to pay based off how much your card if worth
My collection is pretty unorganized (that's an understatement). I've never owned a graded card, and have never bought any 'high-end' cards/boxes (unless Topps Chrome counts as 'high end', but I don't see that, as there are many other products that cost a lot more!). Maybe that's why my collection is chaos. I have 8 5000 count boxes, and several 900(?) count boxes. Thought the 900 ones would be cool to try to put sets in, found that futile and a waste of money (and no time to put them together like that anyways!) Also have 3 large boxes full of albums, because, evidently, they were the craze when I was actually serious about putting my collection together etc. - basically before the internet and social media took off. Now, I just separate commons/inserts/hits, and each has it's own box. I haven't had time to put anything together as far as sleeves/loaders, except for back when I was in my 'album' phase. Funny what the internet does to ya. :-) I might do a video like this some day, once the chaos is organized somewhat lol
You really need some card boxes friend. Leave the Nike boxes for your shoes. Lol. Secondly, Beckett prices are based on raw mint cards. I'm sure a lot of those are not mint. Interesting concept though. I'd at least have to organize by player so I knew what I had.
SilverJackify underrated player he held a lot of fielding records before Jeter did and Jeter only has them now cause he played longer and Omar Retired. Don't get me wrong though Jeter is still amazing I do like the guy hard not to when ur a Yankees fan

AWESOME stuff man
One question I do have is, is the $2 price the Beckett hi or lo that you go by?

I like the idea of sorting by price. Question: in beckett book if a card is $5-$12, what price do I sort that card in $5 section or $12 section?
SportsPC09 Well the way that I have it is a separate section for 5, 6, 8, 10, 12. If for some reason there was a 7 dollar card it would go in the 6 section because it is 6 dollars or higher to 8. Yeah, I really don't collect sets. My only focus is collecting a little bit of everything, but usually singles.
How much does PSA charge to get graded at the National?
Alex Nicolaou like 15$

how much does it cost to get them graded
18 psa 10 day I think
Some of the cards you have loose in the shoe box would fetch $10+ on ebay if they graded gem mint.
How much does it cost to get a card graded?
Bowser Jr.5437 it depends on how much the card is worth. the psa website tells you specifically how much you have to pay based off how much your card if worth
Silver jackify i recently uploaded 2 videos on my channel and will be uploading alot. I could use some advice/tips!!
Do you trade cards?
I would not display those cards on the wall. The lights will fade most colors on those cards. Put them in a box.
Did u say those glavines were $250 or $2.50
$2.50...if those Glavines were worth 250 I would be rich!
SilverJackify Haha yea same
I put my cards in Team sets
if u dont know what a card cost just search it up on google and estimate the price
A display case is nice to show your cards, but by exposing them to light it will eventually cause the colors to fad.
