Carpal only happens if you have your arm angled while spamming, or if you spam with weak tendons/muscles causing you to strain them, you significantly reduce your chance of getting it if you lift weights.

You didn't mention this but Whizkid has beaten five new hardests since the start of the year, and he's gonna make it six with Anathema.
likely a seventh this year as well, seeing as there are 4 months left in the year, and Anathema is supposed to not be much harder than The Lightning Rod
He's also doing firework straight after anathema for his 100th extreme which wont be a hardest though sadly

I don't think he wants to go for any other top 10s other than maybe KOCMOC this year, and that is likely easier than Anathema (and will be pushed out of the top 10 by it for that matter). There is a list for what is on said wheel on his GD account by the way.

Laniakea is the most underrated imo. He's been playing for a very long time and has completed a huge amount of levels. He was number 2 for a while when SpaceUK was 1 but he fell due to having to focus on exams. Recently he beat Tartarus, EOD, Combustion, Psychopath and the Lightning Rod in one week and he beat Kyouki in just 33k attempts.

eandis hasn't been doing too much recently, but more people should know how good he is at games in general for example, beating slh and acheron, unnerfed innards, while being the best sonic the hedgehog 2 speedrunner, holding mutilple wrs and him arguably saying the it was harder than acheron. he is insane
LaChataigne is also insane at the game he beat the rupture on 60hz which is insane if you know how it feels to play on native 60fps. DDDDR is also insane being 2nd in total beaten extremes at almost 650
Kywy is also underrated he is verifying I n j u r y and he says it is top 1 and he got 83% on a slightly nerfed version and on the unnerfed he has 43% also he beat unknown.
Arouvis is another great player, he doesnt have any super amazing top completions but he has some higher up tpl completions plus has beaten stuff on pointercreate list

I think the best player choices have been accurate, yes, those players also happen to have THE best achievement at the time, (which I'm not saying the best player will always have the best achievement) but it does make sense that the best player has the best achievement, and they happen to in the examples that you gave.
There was definitely an element of objectivity to it, but that made the category boring, as I said. I think they realized this because favorite player gives a vibe of bringing underrated ppl into the limelight, hence, this video
