Yay!!! A no buy! I find that as a university student I’ve swapped to refill pens and find that I have way too much stationary I now limit myself to one pen, one white out, one ruler, and a couple highlighters, and two colours of square sticky notes. As a result my notes are more simple, organized and easier to read! I used to be obsessed with Muji but now that most of them have closed in Canada now I’ve changed my mindset. :) Amazing video! ❤️
hell yea!!! i'm trying to minimize the stationery i have and really make my collection smth that i will use and love! it's tough but i'm working on it :")
@@Momo-oz4ek I think part of it was because of covid sadly, I don’t know where you’re from but Ontario Canada has had most business’s closed down for nearly two years now and I just don’t think they survived, there is a huge muji store left in Toronto apparently but you can really only get there by train or subway because there isn’t any parking lol 😂
I didn't have much disposable income to spend on stationery and that used to make me sad. But last year because of your no buy video I realised I was just falling for the marketing. So since then I reevaluated my essentials and have only been restocking on refills, bought nothing I'll ever regret. It honestly gave me more sanity than I ever expected. Thank you so much, seo🥰

I love the "no-buy" concept. It's great for the environment and the wallet. At first, it was a bit hard, but after a while, I forgot all about it. I think for me, purchasing things was out of habit. I allowed myself one planner and one memory/scrapbook, one gel pen (Clena), whiteout, and I could use up my old washi and sticker kits. So far it's been manageable! I started also doing this with my makeup, I cannot purchase anything in the same category until I am near the bottom or I have hit significant pan. I enjoy not having clutter anymore! Thank you for inspiring :)
i did a no buy for 6 months and let myself buy some stickers and tape around my birthday bc i didn’t have any left! i just resisted buying some pens the other day that i didn’t need and i’ve committed to not buying any pens or highlighters until i need to
Ironically I watched your no buy video yesterday and I actually made notes of the supplies you put on screen and bought most of them up today, i didn't have much supplies because I wasn't taking my A-Levels seriously but your video of going on a no-buy inspired me to go on a buy and get my studies together, so thank you Seo and allow me to finally join you in the no buy life
I'm really glad I stumbled upon your original no-stationery video because it made me re-evaluate my spending habits. I had little to no savings earlier this year but now, I was able to save up a substantial amount. I still buy a few stationeries/school supplies every now and then but I no longer splurge as much as I did last year as I only buy the ones I really need. Every time I feel tempted, I just think, "What would Seo do?" (I really do! HAHAHA)...so thanks, Seo!
you're such a breath of fresh air in the study community :) ik i might've mentioned this before, but i appreciate how you avoid promoting too much consumerism/capitalism on your channel!
I started my stationery no buy around the same time the original video came out but I sort of gave up and spent around 100 bucks on stationery. Just this week I decided to pursue a minimalist lifestyle so I am getting rid around 90% of all of my stationery. Most of them I’ve had since high school and I had never used. I am back on track with my stationery no buy.
i participated in the no-buy challenge! ngl, it was pretty hard to resist buying stuff, but i mostly did it! i couldn't help buying some pens [and alot of stickers oops], but i def notice that im actively using them now rather than collecting them like before. i def need to slowly fix my spending habits bc im an impulsive buyer. doing my best!!

girl I am right there with you 😥 there is really good book called “the year of less” by cait flanders. I’ve already listened to it three times on audiobook. Very inspiring. She goes for a no buy year and approaches it well and it’s very understandable to the listener/reader. just 10/10- would recommend. The audiobook is a leeeetle monotone but if you persevere you will get used to it- promise! looking forward to more of these kind videos!
Honestly you can make do with alot more than you think. No highlighters? Try those old felt tip pens. No notebook? Try make one using those old empty sketchbooks. Printables are also a good option if you cant afford alot of stationary
This year, the only stationary I bought was a binder and a file organizer binder type of thing. One I bought because I'm going to need to give it away with the project I'm doing and the other I needed a place to store paperwork. Getting a tablet definitely made me aware of the fact that I don't need any more stationary. There might have been a notebook or two I got before that, but I honestly can't remember. I use up stationary **so slowly** that it makes sense that it'll take me a while to get through what I have. Which, actually, isn't a bad thing!
I haven't buy any art supply or stationary since your video about cutting buying stuff..I have urge of course.. But I try to use the one I have hoarder before buying a new one. 👌👏
The No Buy is such a good idea! But unfortunately, due to school supplies/obsession, I think I’ll take it slow. Perhaps just lowering the amount of pens/stationary I buy in a month is a good start? I also think I’ll keep buying the real necessities, like my sketchbook, bujo, daily notepad, and school notebooks. If I can do at least that until the end of this year, I think I can actually participate in the No Buy in 2022!

I did a no buy for two months, I only bought new stationery last week after I got my school supply list like 5 notebooks 2 new highlighters a smaller pencil case because my school no longer needs me to buy markers and colored pencils and a higher quality book bag (kinda expensive because it was a large doughnut macaroon). My no buy will have to end for the summer just because I do have school supplies I don’t have, though generally my school supply list is a lot smaller this year. I do want to do a no buy again over school until I need to buy more refills.
Joined this no-buy although I haven't bought stationary in a really long time. I've used up a lot of random notebooks which I still had from school. I go through sticky notes really quickly but I nearly never empty out my pens. I'm writing with the same pen since about six months every day and it's still not empty! I hate it by now 😂
i've been doing my best on the no buy front but i have gotten some black pens and a couple sticky notes !! it's definitely way less than i would have bought if i wasn't consciously trying to not buy stationary so i think it could definitely be going a lot worse !!

It shows me that I am able to stick to something like this and I will absolutely be planning no-buys for other things in my life

Its very practical and I wish it was more popular elsewhere. I went on a stationary no buy as well and because I use fountain pens I go through my pens painfully slowly haha
personally for me, it's less practical. if your fountain pen runs out of ink mid-class, there's no way to exchange the ink, and it's not viable to carry around ink bottles since there's a big risk of ink spill. also i think it might just be a cultural thing? most americans (from what i've seen in school) use mostly pencils, and occasionally pens, so i don't think they're looking to get a fountain pen. it might come from the fact that stationary is not such a popular topic here in america as it is in other places
