Nice video. I see you added an automatic door. Probably wise, anything can climb a fence. Hope you didn't lose any girls. I have a poop tray under my roosts. I sprinkle some sand or clay kitty litter on it. Every other day I slide the poop into a wheelbarrow. Easy and the rest of the bedding stays almost perfect. I'm surprised you don't gather the eggs every day , especially in Florida. Great run. I have 2 runs, one extremely secure 1/4in hardware cloth walls and roof and one just with chickens wire. There's a sliding door between them. When we're not at home they stay in the secure run. It's also shut every night. We hang the food like you do. Thanks for sharing.
I would add a automatic chicken door and change the coop floor covering to construction sand. It is a 5 minute clean up daily. It too live in Florida in a subdivision. I have had raccoons, armadillo, possums and even a bobcat. I had chickens for two years and never had a predator get into the coop . Due to the illness of my husband, bladder cancer, I sent my girls to live on a farm. Two years later I am waiting for my 5 new girls to arrive this month. I am enlarging there run using my 6 ft. High fence as part of the run. In addition I am covering the new run with bird netting to keep hawks out. They are the only predators I have had during the day. In addition I added a exhaust fan, and a small usb fan to each of the three nest boxes. I know over kill but I love my girls and the other bunch seamed to love the fans. You have a nice set up and a nice coop. I did my first build at age 75 five years ago. That was my coop and existing run. I have built 3 more coops sense. A small hospital coop, which I gave away and a larger 4X4 new hospital coop with run. I had to rebuild my first coop because of a design flaw that allowed rain to enter one of the vents and rotted the floor. As I assembled it with screws it was easy to tare it down and reuse much of the original coop. I am now 80 and I have to build in small increments of time but it is well worth it to have my girls. Thank you for the tour of your set up.
I've read recently that if you paint the underside of porches, carports (chicken coops) sky blue then the wasps won't nest there. Haven't tried it myself.
Ugh I didn't realize how destructive they are. I was hoping to let them free range all of our backyard thatsvabput a quarter of an acre. Will three chickens ruin all the grass in that much space?
I run a small flock on our 1/4 acre lot. We currently have five hens. They don't ruin the yard. But it's pushing it. I'd say three would be a good number.
I have six hens and one rooster. Rooster flew over my six foot fence when he was first brought home, then learned he had a few ladies, food, water, and a nice secure warm coop and hasn't flown out again. Neighbor's will roost in trees. Mainly depends on the environment around them if they would ever desire to fly out. They're a ton of entertainment to have!

Great video! We have backyard chickens as well. Our daughter just loves her ladies. Such a great learning experience raising chickens.
They will turn the yarn to dirt quickly. Great for weed control. Love chickens and turkeys.
Also, one of the best pest controls you can find. Zero bugs coming through the back door as soon as we got chickens. 😎
I’ll ask them

Thank you for this. Nice coop.

This is encouraging, I look to add chickens to the backyard in January!
Nice update of the chicken coop. I've been thinking of starting one up
Wow. So much info in your channel!!! Cant wait to binge watch.
Chickens are like city people that live to close and fight all the time over their small spaces.
How did you get that Bush to grow that way
