  • The very talented Bodhran player John Joe Kelly, giving us a solo in Dun Uladh last February during Flook concert. Sorry for the shaky camera, had no tripod and arms were really sore from taking previous videos and holding a heavy camera. But the sound from John Joe is still mighty!!

He's been this good for so long, it is truly impressive. I've watched him perform since the early 2000s and he's still unbelievable.

Daniel Bell, don't be sorry for the shaky camera. Your video is good, with the right angle to clearly see and study the movements of the right hand. So, thanks for having downloaded that really amazing solo!

It was me because in R9man times thumbs down meant "Good" but seems things have changed

Joe John Kelly was/is the GOAT OF BODHRAN players. My bodhran teacher would show videos of Kelly’s solo playing. Just awesome. I highly recommend checking him out.

might be the most nonchalant and impressive playing style i have seen, it looks like he isnt moving i genuinely dont know how he did some of these rhythms with such little movement

Albert Alfonso. It’s a $440 drum but it sounds exactly like the one in the video (unless you’re a moron, even money cant fix a bad bodrhan player...) but hey, give it a shot. After 4 years of playing a $50 drum I’ve fallen in love with the drum I just bought from him. Never been happier 👍 and can’t wait to play it all day st Patrick’s day 😄
