*In 1976 when the National Air and Space Museum in Washington DC opened I saw the original **_To Fly_** with heinemann's hot rod A4 Skyhawk Blue Angels. Astounding! Breathtaking! Amazing! I can only imagine how much better things will be 40 years later*
Fat Albert Flight Engineer 01-03. 3 years on the team and I can't wait to see this.
I watched the last Blue Angels IMAX film, “The Magic of Flight”, thousands of times. That came out in ‘96 or so and still holds up
Gonky “I’ll probably bring a box of tissues…”.
Mover edited out Gonky saying “and my cruise sock “.
😬
Saw it in IMAX. Unbelievably good. Only in IMAX for 5 days then streaming on something I’m not going to pay for.
I went and saw the documentary at the theater last night and it was spectacular.
I went to see this in IMAX this weekend. I was brought to tears a couple of times, but it wasn’t due to sadness. I had just seen them perform the weekend before at Cherry Point.
Also, the Cinematographer is Mr. Kevin LaRosa himself, from Top Gun Maverick AND Devotion!
Absolutely fantastic…to fly like this is to live! Cant wait to watch this. Such a thrill to see the Blues in person too. I hope they are having a great season✈️
It is brother, know it first hand. Iron Maidens song "Aces High" even references it "Live to Fly, Fly to Live".
As a kid I wore out my VHS copy of “Blue Angels: Around the World at the Speed of Sound”. The Blue Angels in Russia with MiG-29s and Su-27s blew my mind! Going to have to see this!
It's gonna be awesome.
Glen Powell, if you see this, please make a movie about Robin Olds.
Gotta take one for the team. The tears will only be temporary. Both you guys gotta go, with wombat preferably. Shoot some selfie video during. Wear flight suits and maybe get some free popcorn.
Better not be on their phones in the theater recording themselves.
Shoutout to Fallout and Dune 2, hope you guys go out to see this in IMAX together and let us know what you think!
Being a gulf coast native and seeing the Blues all the time this still gives me chills. Would really be cool if you or Gonky could make it down for the Blue's Homecoming show November 1 & 2 which will also feature the Thunderbirds in the the same show. Two best teams in the world in one place.
Seeing the IMAX film tonight here in Traverse City, Mich. We were chosen as one of the screening cities due to our involvement and hosting of the Blues for our National Cherry Festival Air Show. The Blues call us as one of their favorite venues ....and so do the wives :)
Going next week in Ft. Lauderdale.
Airshow this past weekend , and now blue angles movie. Great week.
Kevin LaRosa was a part of the Blue Angels documentary
This film was taken from the 2022 season of the Blue Angels. I saw them in person when they came to Tampa. I’ll be seeing this film when it hits theaters.
Dulles Air & Space Museum IMAX, here I come!
Let’s get a reaction to the featurette on the IMAX channel!!!
Cannot wait to see this in iMAX
Wish there was an Imax nearby
Better go grab the Blue Angels Liveries for DCS😎 …(or Thunderbirds)
I will be in an I max theater for sure. I remember watching To Fly in an I max a long time ago and this looks just amazing.
Well, Masters of the air is a good series too, worth the watch!
I'll be there for Fat Albert. It's a shame they don't have JATO rockets any more.
Why don’t they?
@@ugs192 The rocket manufacturer went out of business.
The JATO bottles that we used in the 1990s through the early 2000s were surplus. They were all actually x-rayed to keep in service. Finally ran out of surplus and then the JATO shots went away.
i got tickets for fri,sat,sun.
It was awesome!
It could be more perfect if they used "Dreams" by Van Halen like the original 80s MTV video.
A-4s yup 🇺🇸
Someone did this remake. It's cool, but yeah, 80's kid here and there was nothing like the original. What a great time.

Oh and Fallout was great. Binged it hard last weekend.
Just saw it in a real IMAX screen. Not one of the "fake IMAX" screens (I think they call it "IMAX with Laser"). Some are bigger than others, but you'll know it's a real IMAX screen when you see it on a tall screen with a 1.43:1 aspect ratio. There are lists of them that show the aspect ratio.
Had to go a good distance from home to see it. Saw it on the Thursday before the official opening date, and they're only showing it twice a day following the opening night. Unfortunately the closest real IMAX screen isn't showing it - just Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
It was fun, but it's more a documentary with a lot of the personal side of the Blue Angels. It's also not a short IMAX movie like To Fly! (27 minutes) or Everest (44 minutes). The running time is 93 minutes.
Said it before, but there was a decent length of the Blue Angels back in the 1976 IMAX movie “To Fly”. Saw it at The Pictorium at Marriott’s Great America in Santa Clara, California maybe 1980. But I think they still show it at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum.
There was a more recent IMAX movie called "The Magic of Flight" which was shown in 1996, which was about flight all the way from the Wright brothers to The Blue Angels. You can still buy DVD's of it. It showed some great "from the cockpit" Blue Angels stunts. I think they show it at the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola. Soon to be replaced by this new movie, I'm sure.
make him go see it in imax. Its only a limited run in theaters. I cant wait to see it
Gonna need a Mover Ruins Movies on this one.
Not being shown in New Zealand on IMAX 😢
The Blue Angles 😂good one!
Dune 2 is the only movie I've seen in the theater this year. Blue Angels will likely be the second. Also enjoying Fallout.
I see seen them live only once it was awesome. I am looking forward to the IMAX experience. I think the chair thing is to help develope muscle memory without sight. Just a guess.
Not sure how many times I’ve seen them (as far back as the A-4), but I missed their last local show at Travis Air Force Base. They’re still coming to San Francisco though like they do every year. Saw them at a proper air show with an onsite announcer once. Of course they stream their announcer online now, but the delay can be up to 30 seconds.
@@ypw510 I seen them at Arnold Palmer airport in Westmoreland county PA. Now I know why they were selling earplugs. Lol
Blue Angles!
The Blue "Angles" are always RIGHT! 🤣 Some of the female Blue Angles are acute!!! 😉
I'm more of a Green Angles kinda guy, but these Blue Angles aren't terrible per se.
Video title says "AngLEs".
🤔
Mover, you owe it to yourself to go see Dune 2
Where the hell is Mace?? She'd be all over this or maybe not, the T-Birds are a bit more subdued.
She talked a bit about this movie previous week.. they simply didnt got to do the trailer until this weel..
"Angles?"
Blue is the sharpest angle.
@@RocketToTheMoose The Blue "Angles" are always RIGHT! 🤣
Devotion is a great movie. The book is better.
I dont get what they’re sad about
they wanna be flying the jets
@@austinj2078 two great qualified pilots , sidelined by BS government mandates.
@@austinj2078 idk why i thought that was too obvious lol
@@austinj2078
Don’t they hate flying wingtip?
They both used to fly the F-18, and they're sad they're no longer flying it.
Seriously guys? 2 true professional and you call it Blue Angles and not Angels????
Gonky's joke...not mine
