    Co sądzisz o plagiatach, prawach autorskich, inspirowaniu się piosenkami i tak dalej?

      getting inspired is one thing but coping and not mentioning it is stealing - but if getting approval for coping to translate then no issue with this.

      It would be a cruel world, if arists would be allowed to sign and play only song they created.
      I also try to understand people who put their body and soul to create a masterpiece and then some other people use that song to make money on their own. That might be frustrating, but then again... if something is a masterpiece, no copy will be more popular... and some covers are just better/more modern/ more interesting to a modern viewer... sometimes cover gives a song another life

      A lot of the songs on the list - the ones from 80s and earlier were written and recorded in a very different world divided into US and soviet aligned blocs. There was no enforceable copyrights, no open market for music, and no global audience to talk about. Reach of American music was limited in Poland, and vice versa, and so covers, homages and references are the only way audiences in Poland could hear some of this songs.

    Most of them as just covers and it was commonly known in Poland. In my opinion Polish cover of Aint no sunshine is the best cover of this song in the world!

    Some of these songs are official covers, not copies.
    One of them, Noc Komety by Budka Suflera, was the part of contract (so to speak - with government) for using a recording studio of Polish Radio in Poznań.
    A condition of the contract was to create a cover of a selected foreign song to be part of the New Year's Eve night block, prepared by this studio.

      Polish Wikipedia states that the song was inspired by When a Man Loves a Woman (Percy Sledge) and It's a Man's Man's Man's World (James Brown). I get it that Niemen is much beloved, but the inspiration is obvious, and that’s not a bad thing.

    There are 12 basic notes, the number of chords is finite, and there are also scales of chords that are generally the same. They are not always copies.
    Here are 32 songs on exactly the same chords: ua-cam.com/video/nfNpL2p0xm8/v-deo.html&ab_channel=CeZik

    2:18 Brathanki - Czerwone Korale was accused of plagiarism back in 2000. Their response was that they were under the impression that the Hungarian song is a traditional folk tune rather than a contemporary composition, and they heard it on a poorly annotated recording. They ended up paying the original author for the rights later on, and are crediting him for the music now. They’ve also collaborated later on further projects.

    No, it’s literally the same band - they have just recorded the German version as well - it was for Eurovision.
    For Noc Komety - Budka has recorded an English version as well with another vocalist.

    Budka Suflera's Song 4Ever !!!

  • @sytrostormlord3275
    @sytrostormlord3275 3 місяці тому

    Some of these songs just took the music from their original counterpart, others took lyrics, but translated/changed them a bit and/or made their own music...
    It's not strict copying, more like you've said: songs inspired by other songs, covers of songs or in most simple cases: translating the lyrics ( i'd assume to make a great song in foreign language known to wider audience in Poland)

  • @akemiflameborg
    @akemiflameborg 3 місяці тому

    Some of these songs are covers and some are probably sampled, it's not the same as copying. Western singers do it a lot too, even currently. And in some cases it might just be the scale or chord progression that was used in two different songs (these things can't be copyrighted).

    Someone who made the original video you are reacting to, made a lot of mistakes and probably didn't listen to these songs in full.
    - Budka Suflera's "Jest taki samotny dom" and King Crimson's "Epitaph" have absolutely NOTHING in common, except of style. The melody is totally different and in no way one can call them a copy of each other.
    - The same is true for Dżem's "Sen o Victorii" and Derek and the Dominos' "Layla". They are two TOTALLY DIFFERENT songs, there's absolutely NOTHING similar between them. It's obvious once you listen to both.
    - and finally, Czesław Niemen's "Dziwny jest ten świat" is NOT a copy/cover of James Brown's "It's is a man's world", although it's possible that the latter was some kind of inspiration for the former, because the song structure is a bit similar. But again, the melody is totally different - and that's what matters.

  • @leno_o17
    @leno_o17 3 місяці тому +6

    Yeah, so as you said- there's a fine line between a "copy" and...other things. Some of those are just covers, they literally use the same titles, just translated, some use the melodic line from other songs, some are just inspired and there's actually not even that much similarities

    What rubbish! I will never agree that any of Budka Suflera's songs are copies- "Sen o Dolinie" and "There's no Sunhsine" ? Come on... Same goes for Niemen. Who even compiles these videos?

    • @0raj0
      @0raj0 Місяць тому

      "Sen o Dolinie" IS a cover of "Ain't no sunshine", Budka Suflera always admitted that and Bill Withers is explicitly mentioned on the record as composer. On the other hand, "Jest taki samotny dom" has absolutely nothing in common with "Epitaph" by King Crimson, I don't know why author of the original video even compared them. As for Niemen, "Dziwny jest ten świat" has similar construction to "It's a man's world", so we can talk about an inspiration here, but definitely not a cover, because the melody is completely different.
