  • Some years ago we went for a primitive camping trip at Panthertown in Western North Carolina in the Southern Appalachian Mountains.
We are from the Southern Appalachian Mountains and don't live our lives in fear. We know the rules should something happen. DON'T do what I did!!

Wow, that's a long time to have to listen to those voices! A big THANK YOU to your folks for teaching you the ways of the woods! This is actually very good info for what people are soon to see much more of! ...we moved into a new house a few years ago in NC piedmont farm country in the summer and had the fan on every night. There were boxes everywhere, nothing really put away yet, sleeping on the pullout couch in the living room 'til the bedroom was painted, and a whole new environment...Even over the noise of the fan, I'd hear what sounded like loud whispers of voices that would keep me awake for a while trying to see if they were from outside or in or what and what they were saying--so close to actual words. Then I'd finally sleep. It was weird cause I'd never heard it before that I can remember, and I've always had a fan on...Again, kudos to mamaw, papaw and the clan :)

Thank you for the info. I've heard about hearing your name being called and the whistling. I just bought some property in the mountains and will be aware of this.

Hey Iva, I live in NC and am planning to explore more of Appalachia and these parts of the state. Id like to support locally-owned restaurants and entertainment when I drive through. Do you have any recommendations for ways I can learn more about the culture or food around Old Fort / Pisgah National Forest?
    Love your vids 😊

Yes I did and the thing is, is that I 100% absolutely knew better. I assure you I have never broken the rules of everything I was taught since and I won't ever again!! God was really looking over me.

There's spirits lurking out there but if you have Jesus you're safe
Luke 11:24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out

This is why we Catholics have our priests bless us, our homes and everything else. Those wilderness areas haven’t been blessed and consecrated to Our Lord.

I have been watching your videos trying to understand mountain 🏔️ life, but for the life of me i can't understand it.
I don't judge i just want to understand. Have you ever been to a big city, or have you ever lived anywhere other than Appalachians.
I have been up in the mountains, but there is no night life. I have to have both day and night life to keep myself poised.
Sometimes I like to go out at 3 in the morning. I can't do that if i'm up in the mountains. When it get dark i can't imagine not being able to open my windows. Where i'm from i can open my windows all night.
Anyway, i see mountain life a blessing in that you not exposed to a lot of things. You can also live a healther life, but it's also rural which means that can not be good health wise.
Thanks for the video i found out something i didn't know.
    Peace & Love

I am currently living in Boston. It's definitely a huge city. My husband was recruited for a job up here and needs the experience before we can move back home for him to get a job in his field. There are advantages as far as better healthcare for sure. I am not built for city living though. I stick out like a sore thumb! 😂 The culture is completely different. Strangers don't want to have conversations with anyone. How do they make friends? 😂
Honestly, my anxiety is insane from the amount of people here. I'd much rather go back home and live in my Mountains! Also, there's a major coyote problem here. Kinda random but I was talking to a friend about it last night. I've seen more coyotes IN THE CITY in the last couple or three years than I ever saw back home. At least you close. I kid you not one was trying to sneak up on me the other evening and hollered at me. I guess they e taken their habitats away and they're hungry. They've been having to hunt and euthanize them here.
Rural life definitely isn't for everyone but city life isn't for everyone either. I reckon a lot of it is what you are used to, and we're raised up in.

You didn’t ask the forest permission to enter and wait for a sign/signal of approval before you entered…did you?
