You should be watching dr john Campbell and drbeens medical lectures too.
You should be scientific about it and consider all sources. Unless you are an expert in the field you risk falling prey to the argument by authority fallacy i.e you find the expert you find comforting and don't consider any other opinion. This is called confirmation bias.

@@bingofingers I appreciate what you're saying, but it isn't necessary to continue listening to opinions that have been reliably demonstrated to be bollocks. Watching mainstream media for covid news is interesting in the sense that you get more evidence of how poor our mainstream media is, but there are more reliable and relatively objective sources.
And even then, if you consider a 'range of opinions', it doesn't necessarily mean your own opinion is more valid.

In this era of heightened politicisation of almost everything, for medical matters, I would always choose to listen to a professor in that chosen field over a news channel with no qualification over the subject matter!
I am not looking for confirmation for a preconceived notion, as I am not a medical expert. I simply trust someone that has the medical history and data going back to the beginning of this pandemic to back up his findings.
The title of this article is in response to the headlines all over social media today and presumably stories from the BBC, Guardian, ITV etc. all with unsubstantiated stories that we are heading for a third wave of COVID19.
These MSM outlets will no doubt contains gems like ‘experts predict’ and ‘scientists agree’ without any mention of their data source or it’s authenticity, let alone citing these experts or scientists names!
So, I listen to all the headlines, but choose wisely the most authentic and truthful source for my news.
So in answer to your suggestion of confirmation bias, I am not looking for information to support my beliefs, just looking for the truth to start with.
This guy can literally lay down all the information that MSM does along with more sometimes but without installing fear in to people. MSM is the biggest reason for such divide between people in my opinion. Being clear and informative without fear mongering would help most/every aspect of the current situation we have all endured. Well, most anyway as some people love this lifestyle.

Agreed, but more recently I'm finding that Tim is the voice of reason and Dr John is still in scaremonger mode. I'm struggling to understand why the Indian variant is a significant threat to us. Anyone who is vulnerable has been vaccinated so difficult to understand why a 3rd wave of infections would result in a wave of hospitalisations.
@@ricardo46 there are still a small proportion of people in cluster areas who are not /have not been vaccinated...look at some of the areas where they're offering emergency walk ins and hardly anyone is attending
@@cew9837 yes understood. But is it right that other people have to endure continued restrictions, because a small part of the population won't get vaccinated. It seems like a one sided debate at the moment. I understand the risks of COVID but I don't think others are understanding the effects of restrictions. Not just economic impacts but on people's health. Many of us have done the right thing and got vaccinated. Not sure why I bothered if restrictions will continue indefinitely.

@@ricardo46 Not everyone over 70 has been vaccinated. Some are still thinking about it or have refused, including two of my friends. I have pointed out to them that they are over 70 & vulnerable.

@@MrConnect54 I don't think that you're being fair. The MSM has to report everything and you are blaming the messenger. There are credible scientists out there say that we are seeing the beginning of a third wave. Is the BEEB etc supposed just to not report what they're saying. If they did they could be accused of bias. It's up to people to weigh things up and form rational opinions. The fault is not with the MSM, it's with unintelligent viewers.

He's been wrong several times though, where he's said "things are OK" then a new wave or mutation occurred as others predicted. He's probably right this time though.

@@scottwilson8499 I think to be fair nobody has said this "3rd wave" will be as bad as the rest. Just that delaying full reopening might be sensible given the increase in cases/hospitalisations and the data we have about the delta variant spread amongst those with even 1 jab. I'm personally quite content to wait a little longer for looser restrictions if it means we don't have to reverse any especially since we have quite a bit of freedom currently.

There seems to be some mission creep from the government. The rates of covid infections are somewhat irrelevant, if those infections do no result in severe disease or death rates.
The disease is endemic, it's not going away.
