I’m pretty sure you can cast the 2nd Citadel off the top and before it resolves, you hold priority and active the first Citadel’s 10 damage ability. You can even Sac the first Citadel to help pay the cost

Now we just need Arkbow / Neoform / Finale of Devastation /Etrata alt win con and War of the Spark set will be complete.
Well I was going to ask why you didn’t kill your opponent by tapping and citadel before casting the second citadel in G1, but the rest of the comments make it seem like you don’t even know that line of text exists.
Question: > if you have a bolas citadel in play (BC1) and a bolas citadel on the top of your library (BC2): can you cast the citadel from top of your library (BC2), and while it's (BC2) on the stack, activate the one (BC1) in play?
I like how Seth specifically has a disclaimer at the beginning where he explains that he played poorly in the early games (what with not saccing permanents to the Citadel and all), but the comments are still full of people complaining about it.
Because of all the obvious punts, everyone is ignoring that Seth is calling Davriel "Darivel" at around 1:07:05. It's like Gabriel but with a D at the start, Seth.
Bolas's Citadel and Path of Discovery does seem like a sweet combo. I wonder why no one thought to use Path of Discovery with Experimental Frenzy, too, maybe that would work.
The combo is: Play Bolas' Citadel from the top, activate Bolas's Citadel with the other Bolas' Citadel on the stack, sacrificing 9 permanents + Bolas' Citadel. Then looping everything with Gaea's Blessing. No need for haste if you just drain your opponent. Seth didn't know Bolas' Citadel was more than just "Play cards from the top of your library by paying life", but it is.
I agree this combo is better with a Samut to give an additional win condition. The Samut kill fizzles on Root Snare and Settle the Wreckage, the Gaea's Blessing fizzles on graveyard destruction or Counterspell.
To be fair, regarding game 1, Seth doesn't have 20 nonland permanents to sac at once. So the double Citadels trick was not enough. I suppose sacrificing ten and hitting a Gaea's Blessing is good to raise the number of creature hits in the deck, but I don't think he had a deterministic win there, or did he ?
I wonder if Seth would've read Bolas' Citadel if he played in MTGO. I mean the card shows its text there. The tap symbol is less obvious than the text. Nontheless, this felt like a deck played to less of its full potential.
I think the biggest punt of them all is the card sleeves and the lack there of lol. As a side note how would Samut fit in to the 75? I think just having the Haste would close out the games though I guess you could just Bolas Citadel twice but that would take more time.
Ok, I’m not upset about the Bolas’s Citadel stuff. We got warned about that. I am upset that in Match 2 Game 3 when they had a Trickster with 2 Obsessions on it you didn’t blow up one with Brontadon after they had Dive Downed. A slight misplay, but an irritating one.
Because of how much you draw, wouldnt it be worth it to toss in a couple rhythm of the wilds that way you can give the creatures haste and just swing out that turn?
Update: yes he doesnt know how to do the combo at all... Ok, so when Citadel is in play with a Citadel on top of your library you can cast the Citadel, and while it's on the stack (or even when it first comes into play) activate the 1st one sac 9 things plus the Citadel you just used and then immediately use the newly played Citadel for an instant 20 damage combo. No need to go through your entire deck, no need to sit through thousands of triggers. Just 20 permanents and GG.
"or even when it first comes into play" No, do not do this. If you want to sac the first Citadel, you need to do so while the second is still on the stack.
