Very informative video! Also a good reminder that 600/800/1000 dollars for a place, even in Vake or Vera, is a total rip off (please expats, don't spoil the market for others).
Foreigners been overcharged for an apartment is one important thing that I've missed talking about. I hope this video help others not to be overcharged in excess of over US$500, thanks Jo, well said
It's not good to talk about stuff that you have no idea about. 600$+ is an average cost for a GOOD apartment in Vake area specifically. 1000$ is expensive and the apartment should be a top class for you to pay this money. However, as I said people pay 600-700-800-900$ for just decent apartments in Vake. Including locals. I myself am renting apartments for 3 years+ and have never paid less than 650$ in Vake. What about this apartment shown in the video, I consider it as a pretty low quality one, would not live there myself (don't trying to insult anybody, everybody has his own taste) and the area looks terrible, must be somewhere in the suburbs.
This is hands down the best and most informative video I've seen about life as an expat in Tbilisi. I am moving out of my home country (South Africa) to Georgia next month. Thanks for the great video!
I hope you enjoy Tbilisi and the rest of Georgia but watch-out for the Gypsy kids, they are taught to target tourists foreigners and if you are not careful they will steal your money
@@RJinspire Hi RJ! I've arrived in Tbilisi. Currently staying in AirBnB. However, everyone is telling me that I won't be able to find an apartment for under 500 Dollar?! This is way above my budget. Do you have any advice for me? I'm looking for 250 - 300 USD maximum. Please, any help would be a blessing.
Don't believe what everyone is telling you there are plenty of apartments that you can still find for between 300-450 US dollars, also try to avoid agents. I am back in Tbilisi after one of my subscribers wanted my help and if I have the time I might sit down with you and give you some tips and also get you a few numbers to call apartment owners. How long are you likely to stay at your Airbnb and what sort of a job do you do
The apartment is huge and it gives me that Soviet feel and inspiration to learn more of the Soviet-way did things. You should visit the Caucasus and/or Turkey this year while I am still around these areas
