- 🔰The siege of Warsaw in 1939 was fought between the Polish Warsaw Army garrisoned and entrenched in Warsaw and the invading German Army. It began with huge aerial bombardments initiated by the Luftwaffe starting on September 1, 1939 following the Nazi invasion of Poland.

When learning about WW2 back in school, it was implied Germany had a cakewalk when invading Poland.
The truth is that the Poles also resisted fiercely even when the odds were against them
They held out longer than any other country during the blitz. With the exception of England.

Poland lasted 35 days while Norway 62 days.
Norway survived the longest...

Im new to this game. During this battle the Luftwaffe was absolutely key historically speaking. Can we use them in this game too ? Especially the renowned Stuka JU divebombers?
This was fun, though it seemed rather light on the defense. But I'm sure that was intentional. I really enjoyed the battle. Hope to see more Polish battles in the future!
I have to say that Poland did well, considering that they got *double-teamed* by Germany and Russia. I think 35 days was rather a miracle. I believe that had Poland had not gotten double-teamed, they might either have repelled the Germans or at least lasted longer and gave them massive casualties. If Russia was the sole aggressor... then perhaps not, since Russia enjoys employing the horde-method at anything. XD

Soviets did joined the axis in 1939 during the invasion of Poland.

@@SturmFuhrerPK Technically, USSR never joined the Axis, they agreed on a non-agression pact on 23 August 1939, also called Molotov-Ribbentrop-Agreement. This doesn't make them allies of the Axis-powers.
