Am I the only one who thinks these commentators have no knowledge of wrestling? During the Haines-Saldate match in overtime, Haynes is on top trying to keep Saldate down, and the commentators keep saying “Haines is trying to get the take down…” do they mean mat return? Then they were talking about near fall points when Saldate wasn’t even on his back. hoping to get that near fall point”? What near fall? Saldate wasn’t on his back.
They spent like 5 whole minutes talking about the officials were reviewing a potential back point when they were reviewing the locking hands. Then the guy saw Haines with his hands locked when both were on their feet and was like “well it looks like this one won’t get overturned”
I’m with you! You would thing at a school with over 51,000 students, you could find 2 who were knowledgeable about wrestling and can speak into a microphone. Apparently not. So brutal listening to these two I turned the sound off.😢
My favorite was when Bartlett took down Hamdan and threw him to his back for three backpoints. The announcer said "two 3-point takedowns, back to back for Beau Bartlett". Imagine that, two takedowns back to back without an escape. Pure magic!

big 10 have the worst commentators. the deeper voice guy here is really particularly bad.
Saldate is clearly under-ranked....definitely a top 10 wrestler.
Wow what a freaking barn burner 💥🔥☄️ between Haines and Saldate!! 🤯😮💨…. Tremendous effort on both parts! I thought Saldate had Haines beat a few times in that match but Haines proven why he’s the #1 guy! Great Match!

Watch the match with (Jeff Beyers) Calling it. He should commentate all of them!
Listening them to try to explain what was happening during the lock hands call was the toughest things I've done, and I've been through USMC bootcamp

They never saw a wrestling match before this. Just had a quick run through of the rules 10 minutes before the match…I could feel my IQ dropping…

I mean this respectfully but can big10+ please get their act together? The commentators had no clue what they were talking about, camera work was far from good, none of the stats were correct before the matches…I mean is is hard to find commentators who actually wrestled rather than 2 goons who had a quick run through of the rules 10 minutes before the match?
Who knew Aaron Brooks was beaten 8 times this season. Not me. 22-8 according to the graphic and still no. 1. What a 🤡 show!

It always bothers me how long it takes for the graphics person in production truck to update the scoring during a match.
Brooks’s opponent have yet to make it to the 3rd period this season. Pure domination!!!

I think this year is their best chance at breaking the all time NCAA scoring record!

@@conzo2166 You have to ask yourself when in the past did Penn State have ALL 10 wrestlers in the top 10? This year that have Four #1's, (Haines, Starocci, Brooks, Kerkvliet); One #2 (Bartlett); Two #5 (Truax, Nagao); One #10 (Kasak); One #5 or 6 (Mesenbrink); One will be somewhere in the top 10 on Tues (Davis).

Haines battled for that win. Everything was against him including the refs with that crappy stall call at the end of TB2. Saldate did a lot of stalling and never was called for it. Haines with the DUB.
Doesn’t look like penn state is out pinning everyone like the Jason Nolf era anymore. They used to pin 5 out of 10 matches. Now they are like at best tech fall people - and under the 3pt rule too.
Yeah and Iowa used to crown national champions.

Worst case of a ref trying to decide a match. Absolutely horrendous. Call Haines on a stalemate if anything but don't try to decide the match in 2OT with one second on the clock. Let them wrestle. Thank goodness justice was done in the end. Don't let that bald ref anywhere near the Big 10 or NCAA Tourneys.

People needs to stop whining about wrestlers not wrestling when they are legitimately sick….there isn’t a sport with closer contact than wrestling….We haven’t forgot the fact Peyton Robb Aquired a skin disease OFF THE MATS an NCAA’s last year have we?

Meyer Shapiro was ranked like 20th at the start of the season now he’s around top 10 even tho we know he’s a possible title threat.
