Buy or Sell: Viper has to be removed for SFMM to get a giga.
A giga on that hillside would be iconic!
Sell. Viper is supposed to be next up for a repaint and with Anaconda now defunct, Viper is the natural successor to those trains. A better placement for a giga is to axe Superman and Ninja and actually put the giga on the Mountain. You are right that a giga on the mountain would be iconic, but Viper isn't on the hillside. I can see Superman's tower staying and getting a paint re-theme since Drop of Doom is the world's tallest drop tower now, but the rest of the track going. @ I hope you are wrong, but given the economy among other things, I suspect you are right. It's still a nice dream because the top of Samurai Summit is begging for a huge new coaster to perch on top of it.
Right now, a water coaster like an Ultra Splash or Ultra Surf in Deja Vu's old plot would be a really good fit at SFMM because the park desperately needs water rides again. I'd just worry about capacity so a Giga Splash might be a slightly better option.

A free fall from 1000' gets you from 0 to 173 MPH. To climb over 1000' you would need a launch a bit faster than that due to drag/friction losses so maybe around 185-190 to get up and over reliably.
It would be interesting to see a hybrid Hydraulic/LSM launch. Initial punchy launch with hydraulics and speed boosted by LSMs.
What about staggered launches and/or brakes during the descent?

@iliketrains3546 I agree. Anytime you have multiple systems that have to work in conjunction with each other you increase the amount f little things that can cascade. It's an interesting idea. The safer version would be for the first 'launch" to be a lift hill followed by a speed boost. But if you want the punchy launch, you need a different, more finicky method like air launch or hydraulic.

In response to your answer: I definitely think Invertigo and Congo Falls are on the chopping block and maybe the Xtreme Skyflyer since those have been dropping like flies lately too. And as much as I'd hate to say it The Bat probably doesn't have too long to go. But if KI rethemes Action Zone to be a haunted theme around Banshee, The Bat would still fit there perfectly and they could retheme that loooooooong queue like they did for Adventure Express and that ride is actually a few years older than The Bat (I didn't realize that until I looked it up! 😲) Both are Aero's too. So I feel like if they could do something like that with Adventure Express they COULD do something similar with The Bat and just doing a retheme of Action Zone.

A theme park in Hawaii would be so incredible but will never happen. Oahu, by far the most visited Island, only gets 540,000 tourists per year and has a population of 976,000 people. Even if every single tourist and local visited, it wouldn't be enough. At absolute best I could see an MLS team going to Oahu before a theme park.

I think the reason a park is more likely in Hawaii than a sports team is because the sports team would be paying for travel all the time while a park wouldn't.

Personal thought is there's credence to the Superman and Ninja both getting the axe rumors since Ninja becomes redundant with the Golden Bear coaster and the Superman ride is no longer a record holder and is probably one of the things the "neighbors" complain about noise-wise the most. I would say the Superman tower stays because Drop of Doom is now the tallest drop tower in the world and is really popular but gets a paint retheme. The next big coaster would go on top of the mountain, where they both currently reside.
Buy or sell: Kingda Ka's replacement would be the longest steel coaster in the US and the second longest coaster in the world just cracking 10,000 feet of track making it BY FAR the longest coaster in North America and have the most inversions on any rollercoaster at 16, Beating The Smiler's 14 inversions by 2 inversions.
I think the 1000 foot coaster would be similar to Falcon's Flight as it launching up a steel tower is unfeasible due to the track and tower wobbling too much but the side of a cliff would be a much sturdier solution cause of the fact that it is a mountainside. It would make more sense doing it that way than a standalone steel structure The other possibility is that the trains could have windshields on the cars like Falcon's Flight. Also Pipeline over in SeaWorld Orlando revitalized the stand up coaster with its new shock-mounted seat design making it A LOT more comfortable than the old rigid seat models. I think the Surf Coaster would be the future of Standup Coasters.

I think it’s on its last legs personally. It’s gotten extremely rough, it’s in a really bad spot in the park that gets little to no traffic (especially after they removed the whip), and it takes double the workers since they always run both sides (which is certainly nice but can’t be cost effective).
Wildcats revenge basically killed lightning racer. People would go all the way to racer because it was a better version of wildcat, now you get to wildcats revenge and maybe Laff trak and it’s not even worth the extra walking to go all the way to lightning racer.
I would guess there were more empty seats on dispatches than occupied ones this year. Yea it has great capacity but the reality is people just aren’t riding it much anymore.
Maybe they could retrack it and even reprofile some parts but I think it’s more likely Hersheypark just removes it and uses the huge plot of land for a waterpark expansion and/or a new coaster
