St. Louis was SURELY visited by ROYALTY this week with MAESTRO BILLY CHILDS, featuring international vocalist ALICIA OLATUJA & trumpeter extraordinaire Sean Jones. THANKS FOR GRACING STL! Come back AGAIN!🔥❤️
Jazz, like life itself...has to evolve and explore to express the infinite possibilities of expression. It is very subjective and personable and it can't please everyone.... as is the want of art.
"When Twilight is upon us" is the most memorable Childs recording. Unfortunately, swing and blues( true marks of jazz!) has been kicked to the side of the road as most of today's jazz has NONE! Too many composer's originals and it becomes more unfamilar and challenging for the audience to appreciate. Less thru composed and more raw improv would be great!
Billy Childs Quintet.....REAL MUSICIAN's !!!!Awesome !!!
