- Jazz piano prodigy Billy Childs is set to bless the bistro stage with fan-favorite and trumpeter extraordinaire Sean Jones, whose Mack Avenue release Live from Jazz at the Bistro has garnered international acclaim. Joining them will be St. Louis native Alicia Olatuja, whose vocal excellence stunned a global audience of millions during the second inauguration ceremony for President Barack Obama. Fun fact: Olatuja had her first date at Jazz at the Bistro. We all know the bistro is the best date spot in town! Join us for this very special group of talented musicians for what are sure to be very memorable performances.
Jazz, like life itself...has to evolve and explore to express the infinite possibilities of expression. It is very subjective and personable and it can't please everyone.... as is the want of art.

Great!
Great line-up!
Sean Jones appeared twice on the UA-cam: episodes 62 and 100 of Emmet's Place.
"When Twilight is upon us" is the most memorable Childs recording. Unfortunately, swing and blues( true marks of jazz!) has been kicked to the side of the road as most of today's jazz has NONE! Too many composer's originals and it becomes more unfamilar and challenging for the audience to appreciate. Less thru composed and more raw improv would be great!
