The Golden Rule of Communications:- Subhanallah from the Teachings of our beloved Prophet Sallallahu Alaihiwasallam -
    1. The Person is more Important than the Point. (Win the Person first and Save the Point for later use.
    2. Being Kind is more important than being Right.
    3. Only say What you Mean and Mean when you say it

my friend Nady from Damaceen just told me that i should ask you for advice. I am a Muslima living with my non Muslim husband. He is abusive and is an alcoholic and I want to divorce him. a long time Muslim friend in London has asked me to marry him and I have accepted. My dear friend has purchased tickets for me but I dont know what to say to him. I am afraid to tell him about my trip but I dont want to just disappear. Quite frankly I dont know what to do about this. Sis Nady suggested I contact you. Any advice you can give me is most welcome. I dont want to do the wrong thing.

Thank you Sister SalaamaJalaikum for your excellent advice. I have some medical things to wrap up before I leave, then I take the "divorcio express", as they say in Queens, LOL.

You're right you must forget and far away from the bad deeds and look for Halaal marriage.

Mary Ellen Hannigan If you are seeking the advice of the Sheik, why don't you write to him directly, as I don't think he reads the comments on this page? I looked it up, the number on this page may help: www.ocif.org/services/social/sharia-counseling.

You cannot be with a non muslim husband and why do you want to continue abusive relationahip; leave him and Allah will help you find your muslim soul mate.
