    Great video & well explained. You will help a lot of new axial-flow owners out with your how to videos.

    Take a piece of an old rotorbeld, wedge in between torque sending unit pulleys until they're wide open. You will be surprised...

    I really need an explanation how you got the slave pulley to spread open

    • @dirtgrainsteel
      @dirtgrainsteel  Рік тому

      Put the rotor in gear and stick a bar through the concave or key stock grates to hold it from turning take your rotor wrench and stick it in the rectangular holes in the rotor pully and pull and it will roll it open

      Thank you!! I'm glad I could help....you will need to hold your rotor from turning so you can get the rotor pulley to spread ours was still full of beans so it wouldn't turn and I just simply took the rotor wrench and made it spread open and dad got the belt dropped in it....best way to do it is probably wedge a block of wood in the rotor some how

    I don't know why but it seems our 1660 has had all the same failures! I'm on my 3rd rotor drive belt since I bought it in 20000. I do it a bit different but same results. Also have replaced all the bin unloading augers and tubes plus a new bin floor. The rotor drive coupling was bad when I got it, took a while to figure out was going on but it finally failed completely before we figured out why it kept breaking the drive gearbox frame. The spline wasn't fully engaged in the coupling, only about 1/4 the spline was engaged, and worn to the point that under load it would push the spline apart. Must have been that way from the factory. Replaced both parts of the spline and all the frame mounts as well as welding the separator frame to cure it. The hydro is starting to get a bit weak, any easy cures that don't cost a fortune? Lately it's been on a hydraulic hose replacement kick, 3rd one this week. Bad enough to change a line but it always loses the oil supply, not cheap.
