    Amazing energy. Seems like a very inviting and fun class which is an accomplishment when it comes to such a serious discipline as sword fighting. You can see him shouting over the students as he tells them to shout, likely to help shy students feel more comfortable really letting loose.

    As a fellow short warrior who practices weapons, I find that once melee weapons are used the smaller or taller thinner fighters have an advantage over larger opponents most times. Combination of agility, reflexes, and being a hard target is more important than in unarmed fighting.

    • @jestfullgremblim8002
      @jestfullgremblim8002 Рік тому +2

      Indeed. But the when we are taking armor into account things once again fall back to big strong men, but then when we take bows and horses into account, then being small and thin is once again most effective.
      Yeah, things shift back and forth a lot

    • @legoslicerfilms1028
      @legoslicerfilms1028 8 місяців тому +1

      Yes, it has it's pros and cons.
      When sparring with short people I find that if I the opponent doesn't know how to counter my reach advantage it's very easy to hit them in the men before they can even get in range themselves.
      But at the same time it's limiting as I can no longer strike Do (chest)

    Great stuff! I martial arts training really helped with the first hurdle that beginners face which is stiffness or movement and striking too hard.

    This was amazing, the instructor was so cool, this looked extremely fun, you did really well for your first kendo lesson.
    For 11 years I've been self taught in japanese swordplay which I started from watching kendo to iaido and then kenjutsu training videos, I personally really like kendo and would love to join a kendo dojo one day, so watching this made me very happy, I enjoyed everything from this, so thank you very much for sharing this incredible video 😊.

  • @KnowPorcelain1
    @KnowPorcelain1 Рік тому +1

    Looked great fun, I think personally you have more experience with other Martial arts than the Japanese UA-camr, which is why you beat him in your match, not so much the technique, but your lack of tension giving you more relaxed free movement, ditto when you faced the teacher with his more effortless movement. I did find the last match with the 2 v 1 interesting, with the instructors movement, not just more free, but how he moved the two of you into position, so he only dealt with both of you minimal times, by putting the pair of you almost in each others way.
    great content Mr Lee.

    Thanks for your smile that bring us so much good chi, yellow one I guess, kevin, only by seeing few of you're definitely my favorite contents creator! I raise up with wing chun, and I had done and do everyday TKD not sport, with a sabum that was prepared for 92 olympics and a former kyokushin kay master and even when he was with me at dinner before we start to swing OUR'S pizza with my wakizashi :) that's not true but he said, as he always said to me that I cannot let it go, and after 8years, a lot of times just me and he accept it and said: "even when we are at your table we got to keep our elbows close and tight cos this home is ruled by wing chun concepts, so heels out and watch elbows or troubles comes" ahahah Thanks again! dancing swingin a sword is soooo relaxing, if there were not sword, but yours, and even them trying hit you is kind more stressing!) @kevin lee
