If you brush a hold, it should be assumed that you will be climbing once you put down your brush. However, if you brush the hold the proceed to sit down, take off your shoes, etc. People should ask but they should also expect the answer to be "yes, go for it". Ain't no one got time to wait for you to take a 5 min nap.
People who are 5’7” are winning comps because that is the box that setters are favoring. That doesn’t make them better climbers. Outdoors taller climbers can excel (Adam Ondra, Emil you mentioned is now well over 180 lbs, Jimmy Webb, etc.)
"Correct" height might help if you are beginner/learning climber. On the high end you have Ai Mori 5'1'' and Jan Hojer 6'2'' so it doesn't matter I think.
