You didn't seem to notice the sign on the dancer in the Watercolor MV reading Anime Titties. Imo we're meant to contrast the harmful, degrading use of one's imagination in those objectifying images vs the creative use in the animated sequence where she dives into the deep blue ocean of her imagination and encounters the full color spectrum of the peacock.
The Trash performance vid is one of my favorite MMM dance videos.
Ohoo is very Burt Bacharach. Ggomo has been soo superior and too cool to show affection ever since he was a kitten. lol
I agree about Butterfly. I wish it was a Wheein solo tho I like what G Soul contributed to the recording. He's one of the most prominent r&b singers in Korea and I like him a lot tho I don't listen to him as much as I should. The G Soul song I listen to the most often is a fantastic Code Kunst produced tune called Fire Water featuring G Soul and Tablo. Probably not so coincidentally Wheein covered Code Kunst's Flower. At the time Redd was released G Soul, Sik-K and Code Kunst were with Jay Park's r&b/hip hop labels H1gher Music and AOMG and when Wheein's contract ran out I expected her to sign with one of those labels cuz it seemed like a natural fit considering her preference for r&b style her connections with artists under those labels. I thought she & Hwasa would move to the same company since they're joined at the hip and Hwasa had worked with Loco and Woogie, who are or were also under those labels. Wrong as usual.
I also prefer the acoustic version of Springtime.
Park Woosang had a hand in writing & composing all the songs on Redd except Ohoo. He was the sole writer, composer and arranger of No Thanks and I suspect he might have had the full group in mind when he wrote it. I'd love to hear Mamamoo do it.
Redd is a terrific album and it's my favorite by Wheein.
The dancers used throught promotion of this album are a dance crew known as 'just jerk', pretty well-known in south korea and even competed in international competitions and were on one of the '...got talent' shows.
All dancers were either current or former members of the crew at the time. The former members tend to be dancers and choreographers for the big 3 kpop companies now.
Two members of this crew worked with wheein way back in "easy" (the first artist anyone from the crew worked with) and she struck up a fast friendship with them and many other members of the crew. They've basically been her go-to choreographers since, though she can't always use them as backup dancers
There are some great behind the scenes from this promotion period, as well as fan meetings and such and you can tell that she was pretty much adopted as a member of the dance crew

I fully grasped Watercolor’s meaning after she left RBW a few years later and the subsequent albums she released after. It was an “Aha” moment for me.
yeah a few people have mentioned that, and I think I tend to agree, it's not necessarily a dig at RBW or MMM, but her feeling the need for a new start where she can gain new experiences.

Wheein was on 'it's live' as a soloist here before the group was on as a whole which is why in the group video wheein was 'i know right' when the others expressed surprise at just how huge the room was

Honestly I love your interpretation on each reaction video. Watercolor lyrics hits different after I got to know wheein left RBW. Her vocals need more recognition. I personally love IN THE MOOD it's my no skip album redd is beautiful too. But IN THE MOOD is my bias😂

Water color is still my favorite Wheein song, though I know I know I know from her new album almost made it to favorite. the dd is phonetic, at least she pronounces Redd sounds like "ready" and like mamamoo does with many things it is misspelled on purpose and most posters or photos of the REDD logo show the red squiggly lines under RED like a spellchecker would do on a misspelled word and she says the meaning is basically to rid oneself of false things and be more honest with the self. Still amazes me on how these 4 women can be the best group of vocalists and be soloists but still always you feel you are getting mamamoo. There is a full english version of Water color, it is on the album.

Oh the whistling in "ohoo", wanna just point out one thing that likely hasn't been said yet. Whistling is one thing wheein can't do
all those special clips are live recordings, you can hear the pops of P's and B's and her inhaling, that's why you don't get a lot of GSoul on the Butterfly video.

idk if someone has suggested this, but i suggest you watch Wheein's performance of Short Hair in Duet Festival. For me that was one of the best vocal moments of Wheein ^^ spoiler alert, she won there haha

The trash performance is the dancer only. It is not PH. Water color also have a performance video by wheein, if you want to see the dance. Have dance performance by wheein during her fan meet. Springtime is a song for fans.

To understand the meaning of Watercolor, you have to put yourself in the context of the time in which this album was made. This album was made right before Wheein made public her decision of leaving RBW. I'd dare guess that most MMM fans (specifically Wheein stans) knew that she wasn't going to renew her contract with RBW way before this decision was announced, because why would she? She was never able to shine with her own colors in MMM. Most Moos know that, unfortunately, Wheein was always the least "appreciated" member of MMM (by fans and the company); no matter how good of a singer, dancer, performer, and artist in general Wheein is, it's hard to stand out in a group where Hwasa, Solar and Moonbyul exist.
So, to me, Watercolor expresses her desire to finally be in a position where she can show the world her true colors, without being overshadowed by anyone. A new begining where she can be the sole focus and creator of her art.
Of course, the other girls are not at fault for any of this. Sometimes, we just need a new environment to get unstuck and move on with our lives.
For me she stood out from the first moment I saw MMM and still does. Wheein is a genius! 🦋
Wheein stand out for me, but moomoo will still OT4 and never letting go. Every member stood out their own color and they love each other, at least that is what I believe in. That’s why moomoo are poor to support all of them, will need a lot money cause have 4. Luckily not 7 or 9, haha😂
