INSTALL Goose Gear Jeep JL Rear Plate System and ICECO Fridge Slide

We were trying to figure out the best way to install the ICECO Fridge Slide to the back of our Jeep JL. Goose Gear Rear Plate System without the seat delete seems to be the best option with the least amount of work. We measured and drilled holes to install the wood inserts similar to the existing Goose Gear mounting holes for their system, but sized to work better with the ICECO Fridge Slide. It all worked out quite well, except the remaining rubber mat we left from the Mopar Cargo Tray added an extra thickness to the back passenger seats, and prevented the fridge slide to fully lock in place unless you give it a good shove. We have been using this with our overland setup in a few off roading and camping trips now and LOVED IT!

I passed on the GooseGear. $845 is a lot of money for what is just a 1/2 sheet of plywood is a bit outragous. I went with the American Adventure Lab system, much less expensive and a very generous Veterans Discount

Hey all, great video. I'd like to do a similar install but get it more flush to the left. Is that possible, or did you all have to give that larger gap?

Hi Alex, thank you for watching! If you drill and install the inserts like we do, you can definitely move it closer to the left. You just have to make sure there is room for the 12V plug, which sticks out a little bit and could block the way of the fridge from sliding out, so you won't be able to go completely flush to left if you are using the 12V plug in the back of the Jeep, however, if you are using something else to power the fridge and not that plug, I think you can go flush for sure.
We measured and positioned so we can use a couple of the existing holes that came with the Goose Gear Plat System, but ended up using mostly holes and inserts we put in ourselves. Hope this helps.

It sounds like you are wanting the same setup with what we have. But you will need to confirm whether you have a subwoofer in the back or not. That will be the one main thing you need to find out. The SKU: SKU: 1037-GGR-WC is the one to look at. Then you can select the options from there based on your Jeep.

Good install have been looking at the same fridge. Looks like from what I have seen from Iceco web site this is the only one that fits with the rear seat up? How have you been powering it from the Jeep 12v system or something else?

Thanks! I think you are right with the seats up. We have been powering it from the 12v plug in the back. That plug is always hot even when the Jeep is off. Does not seem to drain the Jeep battery too much from our experience.
