Some of my favorite scuba dives (or snorkeling) are when I'm searching for a specific lost item for someone. Today was a special hunt because the owner of this lost GoPro 6 gave me exact coordinates where the GoPro was dropped, so my cousin Steve and I met the owner at the lake, and jumped in the water! After searching around and finding some pretty cool finds, WE FOUND THE GOPRO!!! As well as a working Apple Watch and other stuff. We haven't found the owner of the watch yet, so please spread the word by liking and sharing this video so we can reach them!

The bubbles could be a few things.
1.) Natural methane coming to the surface
2.) Some water creatures that bury themselves I have seen release bubbles to try and attract prey I think
3.) Water plants releasing O2
4.) Microbes/decomposition breaking down and releasing O2, Methane or other gasses
5.) human releasing carbon dioxide

I have a small recommendation: You may already know this and I’m no expert, but when these “waterproof items” fell in the water, they likely drifted calmly to the bottom. If they worked at all when you first retrieved them, they may not work after you shake them back and forth under the water. That rapid movement through the water forces pressure against the seals, even right at the surface. It’s like walking in a pool against water resistance. You can feel it pushing against your legs. Same thing. I heard this from various watch enthusiasts.

tonepoet Check out PADI Seal Team it's a special youth certification for children 8 year's and above. You should be able to find a dive center near you that can help you out. Good luck, I can't wait for my daughter to be old enough to go diving.

This was one of my favorites. Keep it up. oh and the bubbles are build up of dissolved organic compounds, pressurized then released. Same way methane gas is formed.

You asked what causes the gas. So basically it occurs when the fish go to the bathroom and dead plants break down, it is the gas produced from their decomposition and consystes of ammonia mainly but also methane too. It is quite dangerous no to humans but to fish especially if it's in a fish tank.
I know this because I am an avid fish keeper. Thanks keep up the great stuff.

To answer "What causes this?" - There is two possible reasons or a combination of both: A: Plants even underwater ones take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen. This includes Algae which can live on the bottom of the lake/river bed and thus can get trapped in the soil.
B: Tiny micro organisms / bacteria in the water/soil create & release gases such as CO2 & methane when breaking down organic matter (such as dead plants or fish). Often this gas can get trapped in the soil and builds up over time into pockets of gas. Once the pocket becomes large enough it will break free of the soil and be released as large stream of bubbles.
(Also note this tends to happen more often when you swim by because of the slight disturbances you make to the surrounding area causing enough agitation to release the gas sooner than it would have without your disturbance.)

It’s caused by rising gas from the lake bottom. The gas pulls up warm water from deeper down that keeps the hole open. It’s caused by decomposition of plant life. Not sure what type of gas it is though

Yo that cliff bottom IS spooky. Also series 3 is waterproof so... not super suprising. I mean I swim with mine all the time. There should also be a emergency medical ID that would show a name by holding the flat button for 3 seconds then swiping it over. Those still show when locked
