- Legendary Sooners Coach Patty Gasso and national champion Kinzie Hansen sat down with News 9 Sports Director Dean Blevins to discuss their run to a 3rd consecutive National Title.

I've become ALMOST as big a softball fan as a football fan. Look @ how far the softball team has come. Fun fact: OU's most recent natty in football came just a few months after Gasso's first natty. Very interesting. Would anyone have guessed that, 23 years later, here the softball team is w/7? Probably not. I remember a comment that Gasso made @ the celebration how great the fans here in Oklahoma are. She added that it's a little bit scary. The way the world has become, and is becoming, I can understand what she means. From what I've heard, they wouldn't let people onto the field. They (the team) sees someone coming toward them, and they don't know what's going to happen. Security reasons. You can't be too cautious these days. I would've liked to have left w/a few autographs. Oh well... I had an enjoyable time. I heard Alo had to have security . Whoa!
Great stuff by Kinzie and Coach. Good recovery by Dean after a fumble by his crew.
Coach Gasso’s comments about Kierston Deal playing a major role in the rotation next season was pretty prophetic but then again she probably already knew that Jordy was transferring out. I wonder if NiJaree
Canady would be interested in getting closer to Topeka ???
Looking forward to the new season
For a long long time I've heard the name and saw the number (9) Kinzie Hansen. Every time I saw K9 she was looking at the dugout and so very intense. Had no idea she ever smiled until this last season. She was in the middle of the dugout and the camera zoomed in on her. There stood the biggest smile you could imagine. At that moment I realized just how PRETTY K9 actually was. She's flat out good looking and a monster behind the plate. In the game against Stanford, during a meeting in the circle I realized how tall she is. She towered over all that was in the meeting and that made her even more impressive behind the plate. 5'11" with the reflexes/dexterity she has left me in awe. K9 is a real DOG, no quit just fight. I salute K9 for what she's done and wish her the very best for what she does next. For comparison I'd like to say G3, Grace Lyons, is perhaps the greatest SS there is/was. K9 holds that same distinction behind the plate. THERE IS NO EQUAL that I've ever seen in my 73 yrs .
Everybody wants to bring down this team and it's completely pathetic because these girls have a right to celebrate because they're the best there is and I wouldn't want them to change it for nothing because that's what gets me fired up watching these girls is the way they celebrate

Glad Hansen has another year. Hope she can stay healthy. What a great team this will be next year, even without Grace and Jordy.

I believe that Kinzie Hansen has a similar temperament to Coach Gasso. Kinzie, with a bit of seasoning and experience would be an excellent successor to Coach Gasso.
Kinzie Hansen is a natural born leader! She will become the NEXT GREAT Head Coach in the future!
How can anyone justifiably argue that the sooner women don't have the right to celebrate anyway they would like as long as it's legal and complies with college regulations if there are any such regulations. Patty mentioned Alyssa Brito and there are probably others that deserve more recognition and notoriety than they did get when you consider how many records they broke and the statistics for the year. I make more mistakes or errors in a day than many of those ladies make all year. I may be wrong but I don't think Jada Coleman made a single error all year and there could well be others. Get off the back and let them enjoy the fruits of their labor.
