Born and raised in South Carolina and I had no idea that Harriet Tubman was sent down to Hilton Head to do work for the Union. I have so much to learn and never get tired of learning new things. 😊

Thank you, John! As usual, a very nicely thought out story! She did outstanding things, for a woman of her time, an African American woman at that!!

"Five curious things," it's more like "50 curious things..." This woman was a miracle. I had no idea the depth of her service and life. It's even more amazing that this was in the 1800's, that she was a woman, and that she was black, and a slave!! Her story sounds too fictitious to be true, and yet it is. How did this woman's life get not much more than a paragraph in our history books of the early '70s!! The $20 bill is a well deserved tribute to this icon of American history.
This video should be included in all school curriculum. Top notch work. Thank you, sincerely.

I respect her. Tubman was an incredible woman. I hope to see that 20$ bill soon. Hopefully they can speed up the process. I also agree with the blind community, having a form of braille on the currency would help more people to live an independent life. They should also go back to teaching blind children how to read braille rather than forcing them to rely on audiobooks.

Remarkable story on this woman. I knew a little about her. It's good she is getting recognition on the $20 bill. It's a great idea to put Braille on currency for the vision impaired. Thanks for the story, John.

So interesting! I’ve read a lot about that time frame (Civil War era is my favorite), and I’ve read a lot about Harriet Tubman, but I did not know of her work with the Suffragette movement, or the. Nursing Home she founded for Negroes . Good Stuff!
