PuppyLuver256 As the editor of this video, there was no logic behind the choice of music, other than 'that sounds nice'. Great effort trying to deduce meaning though lol
Another one I would bring up is Sega screwing over Big Red Button. I'll explain what I know. Big Red Button was asked to create a Sonic game which was originally titled Sonic Synergy. It was designed to be on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. This was shown by them using a powerful engine known as the Cryengine. Everything seemed fine, but here's one major error that screwed up the whole game. Half way through the development of the game, it was announced that Sega was making a deal with Nintendo to put the next 3 Sonic games on the Wii U. The first being Sonic Lost World and then Mario & Sonic Olympics 2014. However, there was no third one in mind, and Big Red Button would later realize that their project had to be on the Wii U. The problem is that the game was not designed for the Wii U as Cryengine would have a difficult time working on that system. Big Red Button would have to put so much effort and work so many hours a day and 6 days a week. In order to make the game work on the system, they had to cut out so much content and downgrade the visuals. No matter how hard they try, they could never save their project from being the biggest disaster in Sonic's history. Getting called worse than Sonic 06, and just being a game everybody hates. All of this happened because Big Red Button didn't receive any proper communication from Sega until it was too late. Moral of the story: Communication between publishers & game developers is important. The Wii U should have been a more powerful system. And Sega is still retarded.
SonicMaster Sword Both sonic team and Sega meddled in that game. Iizuka made the game be more returning stages and made them scrap the original story and made it a forces prequel. And Sega screwed over PC fans by delaying the game two weeks for "bug fixes" only for it to be revealed that they added denuvo behind the devs back and tried to shift the blame to Christian Whitehead and crew. They told no one about it and the customers couldn't refund because of the sonic 1 they gave as a consolation counted as the mania purchase which actually released after the refund time limit. Sega is a slimy company.

These UA-cam algorythms are fucking broken... If you don't follow Larry on Twitter: He's tried to upload this for days without it getting demonitized. The key to not getting demonitized, as he found out, was removing some fade outs from the video. *SERIOUSLY.*
Unless you've talked about it in another video, I'm surprised Nintendo and Argonaut isn't in here. The short version: - Nintendo hired Argonaut to make the Super FX chip and 3 games exclusively for for Nintendo. - Started out fine, with Star Fox being their first game. - But their second game was Star Fox 2, which Nintendo cancelled despite it being finished because they thought it would interfere with the N64. - Argonaut got paid for making the game, but since part of their pay would've been based on sales, they didn't make as much as expected. - Nintendo later released the internally developed Star Fox 64, which used a number of ideas from Star Fox 2 without crediting Argonaut. - Meanwhile, Argonaut was stuck in a three game deal with Nintendo and wasn't allowed to go elsewhere until they made the final game or Nintendo decided to let them. But Nintendo wouldn't greenlight any of their pitches. - One pitch was a 3D Yoshi platformer, which Nintendo turned down, but then Mario 64 later had some suspiciously similar mechanics to their Yoshi pitch (which was later retooled into Croc).
The main problem it seems, stems from greed and lust for money, or starving publishers when boxed into a crunch to grow game sales will foolishly accept any and every deal that comes their way, and we all know what that means....(cough)(cough)(Peter Molyneux)(cough)(cough)
A very informative episode. I really enjoyed this one Larry!Though I was curious how Microsoft and their treatment of Oddworld Inhabitants didn't make it here. Always been interested to hear more on that story with more details!

Hey Larry, if you plan to do a follow-up episode, here are a few ideas that I would have personally included on a list of publishers screwing developers: 1. SEGA and SEGA Technical Institute - The development story of Sonic X-Treme is a textbook example of this. 2. Electronic Arts and Slightly Mad Studios - A few days ago the CEO told journalists about how EA almost destroyed their company. 3. Crytek, Crytek Frankfurt and their other unpaid studios - Alleged non-payment of wages that has been going on for months. 4. SEGA and BigRedButton - Remember Sonic Boom and how terrible it was? A lot of that was due to SEGA suddenly springing upon the devs that they'd be developing a Wii U exclusive title after they had snapped up licenses to work with CryEngine. 5. The9 and Red 5 Studios - This one would need more research to find out the full story. To explain the situation, ex-Blizzard devs create a new MMO called Firefall and are bought by a Chinese publisher. The CEO, Mark Kern, was then ousted in a shareholder revolt apparently because the other executives and The9 wanted 'WoW with guns' and in his absence the game gets screwed up even more with constant system redesigns. The Chinese game launch fails spectacularly resulting in layoffs, unpaid wages and a game being kept alive on fumes until it was cancelled earlier this year.

Larry you are cool as always. But are you telling me that seriously a company published another company's games without the 2nd company knowing it? Seriously?
Well this was the early 80's so news of this stuff happening did not travel as fast. Today we have the Internet, & something like this would be posted all over social media, and talked about within minutes of it happening.
Honoratio mention goes to both Sega AND Nintendo for fucking over Big Red Button, Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric was really worth rushing the whole game for the undersold Wii U
Does anyone know what the track is that starts at 12:13? I swear it sounds familiar to me, but I can't remember where it's from. On a related note, Larry, could you list the titles of the background music you use in the description for future videos?
ohh. i see. i put it into a background tab and when i clicked on the tab it said the video had been removed, so i thought you removed it rather than privating it
Hahaha, the delayed Molyneux was beautiful . I was a bit upset not to see him in the intro, even if it was part of the joke, but it was twice as sweet when he made a reprise appearance.
Thank fuck, it was carrying on for too long. If anything to save the effort he should just write up a summary on the guy and put it in every description from now on.
Last I checked, Larry was the one who represented everything that made this channel what it is, considering it's his channel and it's where he does his content. Unless of course you mean Larry is insecure so Moly represents him, which I doubt you mean.
The lesson I get from this is: Never trust anyone, never be promised money, always get money first. If they say that's ridiculous, show them this video.
Sega would have gotten it's own list considering how over two decades later, they still make the same mistake with their dev teams of rushing them to meet the holiday deadline instead of letting the devs make actually decent games. Examples include - Sonic Xtreme; It was never finished, and devs ended up being so overworked that they were hospitalized, all to meet the holiday deadline Sonic 06; Split the dev team in half and then rushed whoever was left for the holiday deadline Sonic Boom; Told the dev team at the last minute to port a decently running version of the game to an inferior console, and also rushed them because of the holiday deadline They've been doing this crap for over two decades
Ahh, yes, Microsoft is so innovative for copying the Eye Toy and calling it The Kinect... and making it one of the most hated peripherals in videogame history.
That last one was really sad, Fox really didn't care they wrecked many people's lives and just carried on like nothing happened. No fox given... (Sorry I took your joke Larry) Love the music choices in this fact hunt by the way.

Well this was the early 80's so news of this stuff happening did not travel as fast. Today we have the Internet, & something like this would be posted all over social media, and talked about within minutes of it happening.
Excellent stuff as always. Also like the fact that some of my old C64 games collection were in the background, that was Ballblazer and Bounder ?
That was Black Knight playing at the start eh?
Yes, but it's Black Knight 2000.
Bonus points for the Bomberman Hero soundtrack in the background
Honoratio mention goes to both Sega AND Nintendo for fucking over Big Red Button, Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric was really worth rushing the whole game for the undersold Wii U
I really enjoyed the humorous interjections between segments in this one.
Does anyone know what the track is that starts at 12:13? I swear it sounds familiar to me, but I can't remember where it's from.
On a related note, Larry, could you list the titles of the background music you use in the description for future videos?
I know it too and it's killing me that I can't name it
Got it, Undertale.
The song name is "Ruins", from Undertale as EscapeRouteBritish mentioned :)
Thanks, guys :D
That quote from Matthew Gosling is just perfect in every way
I see, I click, I watch, I enjoy :D
Thanking you kindly
With the way you started the episode, I legit thought Peter Molyneaux was going to be involved in one of the stories.
Why was the original one taken down?
ducc ah.. makes sense.
I knew it wasn't copyright or anything, since it said the user removed it
It was taken down over too many fade outs...
YT never heard of fade to black.
"Isn't that right Peter?" I fuckin love you Larry 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
There is a special place in hell for all these money hungry bussinessmen
KofteG61
Yeah, a place in hell where barter is used instead of currency
Larry's pretty much the ONLY content creator who should have ZERO dislikes!
Don't get the 212 poor souls who disliked this video!!!
Bless you Sir :)
did you release this video yesterday by accident?
i think he uploaded it and it had some mistakes
that could be the case, but Larry usually uploads Fact Hunt on Sundays/wherever else depending on your time zone
It was supposed to go up yesterday, but it got instantly claimed, so had to set it to private until it cleared.
ohh. i see. i put it into a background tab and when i clicked on the tab it said the video had been removed, so i thought you removed it rather than privating it
ah right
Oh wow, that SNES Doom E1M1 music. That version of the soundtrack deserves more love. :-)
re uploaded?
Nope, got messed around with the ad issue, so had to set it to private until it cleared :(
i see
That shot at 8:18 of those 2 guys playing split screen multiplayer on an iPad, I've never seen that before, it looks a really cool idea
What was that awesome music at the beginning of the video?
14... MILLION dollars? Jesus.. Absolutely insane. Thanks Larry for these Fact Hunts.
No worries dude, so pleased you're enjoying them :)
oh! it's here again!
1:00 - You showed amazing restraint Larry!
10:42 - Couldn't help yourself i see!
Only 5? Should be closer to 5,000,000
Oh man, hear the Epsylon Range song on that first entry makes me want to play Lost Odyssey again.
I miss the days, when the Peter Molyneux references werent part of the "intro"
So five years ago then?
1:27
Epsylon Range from Lost Odyssey, did not expect that!
Maybe this time I can watch it! haha
Hahaha, the delayed Molyneux was beautiful . I was a bit upset not to see him in the intro, even if it was part of the joke, but it was twice as sweet when he made a reprise appearance.
When's "5 Things I Put On Me Bum" gonna be?
I dunno why you guys keep confusing this guy with Jed Whitaker, Larry's actually funny.
+El Neco Who? I was making an OneyPlays reference.
I don't know what an OneyPlays is, but Jed Whitaker is some """""""""""game journalist"""""""""" that for some reason jammed a Joycon up his ass.
+El Neco Oh. Okay, then. Didn't know that.
Marmalade - I keep finding bits of orange!
+1 for the Black Knight 2000 music at the start!
"Some say it's a doggy dog world out there" bravo larry
he said "dog eat dog."
It's a doggy-dog-eat-doggity-dog world out there, dog.
Paul Johnson
Yo dawg
Someone should make a video compilation of every time Larry mocks Peter Molyneux
Did... Did the bald liar get off scott free this episode?
Thank fuck, it was carrying on for too long. If anything to save the effort he should just write up a summary on the guy and put it in every description from now on.
D33tly No he was mentioned later in the video.
Just reached that part
Don't see why I should, considering you went out of your way to read my comment and reply to it.
What about Nintendo selling Starfox 2 on SNES Mini? lol
ehh you can still download the rom, it's been dumped for years now lol
So when Nintendo screwed over themselves.
Original Starfox and Starfox 2 were made by Argonaut Software, not by Nintendo.
That got basically it's own video
Nintendo published Star Fox, Argonaut developed it, but did not give them credit.
This kind of stuff is why I said publish all my games even though it's harder and I get less sales. Publishers terrify me.
sleep will have to wait
7:13 yo that music got me TRIGGERED
What's up with the re-upload? Copyright thing or something?
Yup got striked
Adachi Cabbage
What for?
From what he said it's because of the ads or something.
Two Peter Molyneux jokes? Larry's spoiling us.
wow im not early because people have already seen this on patron and larrys seen this brefore it was even uploaded on youtube.
Sega would have gotten it's own list considering how over two decades later, they still make the same mistake with their dev teams of rushing them to meet the holiday deadline instead of letting the devs make actually decent games.
Examples include -
Sonic Xtreme; It was never finished, and devs ended up being so overworked that they were hospitalized, all to meet the holiday deadline
Sonic 06; Split the dev team in half and then rushed whoever was left for the holiday deadline
Sonic Boom; Told the dev team at the last minute to port a decently running version of the game to an inferior console, and also rushed them because of the holiday deadline
They've been doing this crap for over two decades
Didn't mention Peter Molyneux in the intro

Never thought I would hear music from "trip world" as backgroundmusic! Its so rare to meet someone who even knows of that silly little game.
LOL, Sony being a innovating company... what a load of Molyneux.
Nintendo totally ripped off the wii controller and Smash bros from sony
I think "compared to microsoft" is implied.
+humiecrusher Microsoft at least made the Kinect, which, love it or hate it, is a pretty advanced little thing.
Yes and I remember thinking: Isn't this just the ps2 eye? Why is everyone so excited?
Ahh, yes, Microsoft is so innovative for copying the Eye Toy and calling it The Kinect... and making it one of the most hated peripherals in videogame history.
That last one was really sad, Fox really didn't care they wrecked many people's lives and just carried on like nothing happened. No fox given... (Sorry I took your joke Larry) Love the music choices in this fact hunt by the way.
