Ill never forget Joe letting me sing a bit during a Shattered Realm set back in like the mid 00s and giving me a little clap. But the first show i ever saw outside a regular venue was Punishment, Kensington, Blood Has Been Shed, Payback, Maybe Dysphoria? At Boards N Blades Skatepark in 99 or 2000, my memory is terrible. But that really got the Hardcore Ball rolling for myself.
Joe helped is out so much when we came through the area. Getting us shows, finding us a place to stay and just being a generous dude. He also helped us to get picked by Thorp Records. Much respect to Joe HC.
Amazing episode and an amazing person, Thank you, love your podcast! Born in 80 - I relate so much to the same timeline of music influences. Give it up Mom’s who we’re not over protective, open minded and let you figure out the world. Being a part of and understanding hardcore is a gift!
That problem solving take is real as fuck. Never thought of it like that but hardcore and navigating my way through it from 12 or 13 all the way to now at 30. Shit has helped me immensely in my life by just giving me the grit to figure it the fuck out in any situation.
Wow imagine being the same person for a long time now. Joe works hard but is a bit underdeveloped. Dude is 50 and getting off in dudes fighting in the pit SMDH.
He's doing what he love. You don't have to play arenas. Is the pit part the most mature thing? I'm not defending that, it's also not my thing, at the most we all have things we enjoy that others have biases against. Besides my annoyance with people bashing others on the internet and how I dislike cat with cucumber videos... when I heard him say it on the video I remembered one thing, I was at a church show and looking around and next thing I knew I saw was Joe non-violently pinning down an aggressive (I think drunk) hatebreed bro.
