Hi Shawn. I just installed a nac1 outboard autopilot in my boat, with a Go9 MFD. In Network Device list, I can see the Compass, and Navico AP, but I have No Steering Wheel/Autopilot icon to select, or configurator. Any suggestions?
My simrad Evo3 in the autopilot section does not have the installation option. Just chart compass, auto hide bar, commissioning and steering response. I also can’t do anything after calibrating the compass.
Hi, I see you have a tile on the home page of your MFD for the autopilot that allows you to have full screen rather than just the side bar for Autopilot control. How do you get this to happen. I have an NSS Evo3s with an AP44 and both have the latest software updates.
Every get it to work properly? I have an ap44, high capacity pump and a their compass. Waiting to put it on but keep hearing they dont stay on course and disconnect....
Autopilot installed and working using your video. Only issue I'm having is I don't see an autopilot option on the home screen of my evo3. I can work control it through the side bar pop out but without the icon I can't build a multi-page with a section dedicated to the autopilot. How do I go about adding that icon?
Hi , Please advise my auto - pilot model AC-70 control what problem is this ... When navigation switch ON auto pilot start as ''Auto'' and not able to change ''Stand by''.
Hi Hari, the AC70 is autopilot computer, what kind of autopilot controller do you have? What plotter? We'll need to have more info on the rest of the network to be able to diagnose. Please send us the NIF file. You may also contact us via Facebook.
I get the the "hold port" part. It takes a little wile for the engine to start turning to port but it does, then I let go at full port & then it says centering rudder but it doesn't center it, it basically turns almost to full stbd. Doing something wrong?
If you have not done the earlier steps correctly then it might do this. Please get in touch with us via FB so we can direct you to the correct service team.
@@simrad-yachting i actually got the autopilot to work. I just had to move the wheel a tad when it reached full port & starboard. Now im having issues with the wr10 wireless remote. Sent a message on FB. Awaiting a aresponce
Hi, I have the AP44, Nac2 Precision 9 package on a 29 ft boat. When I set it on Auto, it always needs to apply rudder to port, so there is the red line on the top of the heading. Manual is hard to understand, do you have any suggestions as to what settings I need to change?
You will not be able to control the Simrad autopilot from your Garmin unit. You will be able to get it to follow a route, but they will not be fully integrated.
@@simrad-yachting Thank you!. But are there differences in the software as well? Can I use the NAC-1 with a planing boat, and control it using VFR in both high and low speed?
For the Simrad Auto Pilot setup, can it be operated via the integrated NSS Evo3S MFD and not through a separate Operator Control Panel? I don’t want to cut another hole in the dash panel if I don’t have to. Cameron
@@simrad-yachting Thank you. What are the benefits then of a separate AP controller (like AP44 or AP48) added into the NMEA 2000 interface that drives the autopilot tasks instead of directly through the MFDs? Cameron
Thank you for your message. We will be happy to help. We would need you to write an email to Simrad.tech@navico.com sending in your unit’s serial number. You will then receive an autoreply with a reference number starting with CA…. please send it to us so we can follow up on your case. Looking forward to your reply.
I just recently purchased a Grady White 330 Express, fully equipped with Simrad electronics. Already I'm looking to pull everything out and replace with Garmin. Simrad is way too difficult to learn and much needed time is required. Not user friendly at all!
Im confused about the control levers
Does one spring back to center and back to 0 degree rudder when you let go?

Go to Settings > Systems > Advanced > Features and turn on Autopilot Panels and related options.
Hi
What steps do you take for the AP48 Controller to execute DCT (Depth Contour Tracking)?
Cameron
thanks, that was very good. still trying to fine tune our AP 44 on a grady 330. she wanders quite some.
Super, glad to hear you liked it!

Should be under advanced features - autopilot - make sure it is ticked
WOW a very knowledgeable person on Simrad AP. Can I hire you to set up my AP dockside and running?😅
On my AP44 with Nac-2 the Sail option is inaccessible. The Boat only gives me Planning and Displacement. How do I enable the Sail choice?
You need a rudder feedback and wind info to enable Sail option. Do you have both of those on your network? Contact us via FB please.
@@simrad-yachting Neither. Will stay with Displacement.

I have aTP3 Tillerpilot. What unit is required.
Our suggestion would be to look into the B&G systems, Vulcan or Zeus3S
the auto tune set up is excellent in the video... have to go do that this weekend.
Good video. Thanks

ok stupid question new boater here if i am coming to the dock and i want to put my bumpers out is there a hold position setting ?
Their called, FENDERS, and you're best putting the autopilot on S for standby.

Very helpful
Glad it was helpful!
In software upgrading of heading controller its not good. Should be possible to upgrade because its connected on the network
Can i intergrade my AP44 and Lowrance HDS 12 live
No, you cannot integrade the two units mentioned. HDS units are only compatible with NAC-1 autopilot computer.
can my new auto pilot Simrad work with my Garman GPS that is new
You will not be able to control the Simrad autopilot from your Garmin unit. You will be able to get it to follow a route, but they will not be fully integrated.
3 year old post but to answer. My 2023 Garmin GPS Plotter when set to a waypoint feeds the Simrad AP28 when I press NAV.
How do you use it with MFD other than simrad?
How do I engage the troll feature?
You will need to activate it from the Advance menu, but first you will need to have a trolling motor onto your NMEA2000 network.
What are the differences between NAC-1, NAC-2 and NAC-3 autopilot computers?

Yes, the NSS Evo3S can function as an autopilot controller when connected to a Simrad autopilot system via NMEA2000.
