I'm wondering if people who ask "Are you really blind?" or something similar figure that "blind" only means "having zero sight; no vision at all". They don't understand that blindness is on a spectrum. So they're like, "wait, she uses a cane, but she can see enough to read text on a video game? How can she be "blind"? Big hug coming to Condé! That’s definitely part of it. There are also the people that just assume disabled people are faking their disabilities, and that’s just gross and ablest. Regardless of the reason, it’s just weird to me. And fictional or not Condé deserves all the hugs!
