Lots of isolation now when I was very social. The best description for this chronically ill state of being is "endless state of grief" for everything you used to be + everything you miss out on. So glad you're reviewing this. This is probably the most focused project I've heard from him under the R.A.P. Ferreira alias, and man, some of the painful reflections on here really hurt, especially given his preceding famililal / legal situation. Makes you feel for the man himself, not just the artist. I plan on reviewing this myself too, so gotta get my notes done before I hear your amazing takes haha. But I'm sure AVAA.
Randal Bravery is not a pseudonym, he's a producer who has worked a lot with Ferreira. He's extremely underrated and has made some of the best beats Ferreira has rapped over. When I got the chance to meet him at a show he was very humble and very kind.

Thanks for putting me up on this. Divorce (in the midst of severe depression) was a big part of my journey that led to the creation of a Hip Hop crew that I used to liken to “the Expendables”. That crew, @gryskll, has been exploring mental health from different angles. All of the members come from vastly different backgrounds and perspectives. On top of the music, we’ve had a variety of podcast episodes, some of which included mental health specific guests & topics that we called GRYSpace. This year the crew is really finding its focus and stride.

32:25 blue skidoo you can too. The peanuts and cashew I don't know but the only context I have ever heard skidoo in is when the dog from blue clues jumped into a painting
AVAA. I really think an album you would find interesting is Edward Skeletrix's Museum Music. It came out this year and in my opinion is the true evolution of the underground wave we've been seeing with people like nettspend, osamason, 1oneam etc. It feels like post-rage? Not everything has to be so confined to a label but if i were to label it, it would be that. I'm not asking for a review (although it would be cool because there are some interesting themes explored in the album) but just for you to try out that album. ty ❤❤❤
Initially I thought the peanuts and cashews line was a comment on gangbanging/gang culture. Like, two sides fighting but they're really not that different. Potentially going further, on either side you're still just nuts. Also possible he just very strongly believes peanuts are better than cashews, who knows! AAVA
AVAA, saw this album got some hate on some music websites but as always was great to get your insight on it. Also that "been down so long it looks up to me" reference chain also goes back to Furry Lewis' "I will turn your money green" which has that line and which inspired Fariña, who for anyone interested is also a bridge between Bob Dylan and Thomas Pynchon, small world!
I'd love to see you review Prince Paul's album "A Prince Among Thieves." It's a concept album that tells a story and each rapper plays a different character. It features Xzibit, Big Daddy Kane, Kool Keith, De La Soul, Everlast, Chubb Rock, Sadat X and others. It's a true classic.
Professor Skye can you check out Edward Skeletrix's new album Museum Music? It’s a double album that I think is worthy of an analysis due to it’s postmodern themes. Please make sure you hear the song “Label Meeting” from the first part of the album if you check it out. It’s a nod to the treatment of Nettspend behind the scenes.
