You're right about adding power to E46. Same thing with my M3. You have to go forced induction which really cost a lot of money. It's not worth doing a supercharger. These engines need a Turbo. 300 wheel on an M3 is actually very easy. Just delete the cats and get a cheap pair of eBay headers and a free-flowing exhaust and mid pipe. Not cheap but getting 300 RWHP is easy as standing on your head. you get about 25 horsepower from the cat delete and really only about 5 horsepower exhaust system. I don't care what they advertise. I did everything by the book and even had an expensive Dyno tune and ended up with 301 horsepower at the rear wheel. It's scoots, but it ain't no Turbo. There is absolutely absolutely no kick in the pants when it comes to torque. Torque is non-existent unless you put a turbo on. Then you can get huge numbers and torque and horsepower are both. Getting anything above that is not worth it unless you go forced induction. Superchargers have a gerbil power curve and give you very little torque. I'm doing voice to text I meant to say terrible. But gerbil actually works too. LOL. Superchargers totally suck on these cars. But a good turbo setup will make your balls disappear for a month. They will drop back down eventually. You can make Yuuge power with turbos. But the cost is horriffic. But totally worth it.
I need to make one of these videos. I have to say man I'd definitely get rid of that pointed shift knob and put the stock steering wheel with updated airbag back in. Safety 1st. Also the second E46 color is great, pretty rare too and very clean. What is that color called?
Its weird that you both dislike the power that the e46 put out. I kept my e46 2003 sedan and spent big bucks to keep it running good because of the power it puts out driving uphills on mountain grades. I also like driving it on snow when its on the S MODE. Overall its the most fun car i have ever driven all year round and i have driven expensive cars but nothing beats the e46 all season driving experience.
The Valve Cover and Oil Filter Housing Gasket/Vanos line are definitely possible for the average person to do with ramps. The Oil Pan Gasket is the bitch because you have to really have balls to get and engine brace to tackle that one. Outside of that, i've found the e46 to be relatively easy for the average person to work on. The one area you didn't mention is that when you start replacing the cooling system, don't even mess around with just doing the expansion tank and those components when they fail. Go ahead and just replace the radiator if its never been done while you are there; especially if the car has over like 120k.
This is the best channel about the e46 in total, great videos! Keep it goin but you just never got back to me about the steps to the custom exhaust you did!
Notification gang‼️Keep up the great vids bro! Quick question if you don’t mind. Being a college student and having project cars such as the g35 and bmw, how do you manage between school and car parts? I ask because I’m about to start my senior year of high school and well your vids are inspiring. Love from Chicago💨💯
Arnold Rodriguez I'm a currently a senior still but graduating very soon. I currently only own the BMW. The G35 was sold to a relative. I work a part time job and waste 90% of my income on my car. I also have a small UA-cam income to help out with bills. It's very hard building a car with little cash but to make an impact in the UA-cam scene you have to make sacrifices! All I can say is, if you're financially responsible and work hard, you can do it! Thanks for the support!
Don't look at any other video that shoplife vlogs for fixing window regulator and many other things. The guy is superb and lives and breathes E46 Beemers.
Jason is fantastic and his girl also. Their work ethic is unbelievable! Bet you dream about an M3 engine conversion in yours too huh! Did you watch the E46 with the V10 M5 conversion on a different channel? Holy hell!
For a notchy transmission drain your fluid and put in an equal amount of Redline D4 ATF. Do some research this is perfectly okay with BMW. call Turner Motorsports in Massachusetts. Ask for Doug. Talk to him about it. They have packages with Red line products for both your differential and your transmission. Some guys using MTL, some guys use Royal Purple synchromax. Listen to Turner Motorsport and use Redline D4 ATF. No more. notchy.
You must know by now that the wood trim interior is by far the easiest thing to update on your car surely? It pops out in seconds and can be vinyl wrapped, dipped or resprayed to your desires. As for the bumper well yeah it sucks but for $100 (unpainted) you get the M sport or M3 style.
What is more expensive on maintaining when it come to a 330ci or a g35. I’m thinking about the 330ci but might have to go with a 35 sedan since I heard it’s a bit more reliable. Also, how much would you say I should save before I purchase either one in case something does go wrong. Thanks!
The 330i is more expensive to maintain if you're not doing the labor yourself. G35s are more reliable on my experience but burn oil like no tomorrow. Depending on where you live will determine how much you need to save up since each state has roughly different prices. Here, a good condition e46 or g35 goes for 6K. I'd have 2K on the side for maintenance for both!
What a BUNCHA PUNKS! Nah lol love your vids. But i live in Orlando fl. An my mechanic (no bullshit indy shops) charges $80 valve cover an $200 oil pan gaskets. Had 3 e46's an always went to him! Seems pricey where your at 😥. An to bruce. The comment you made about 3 series Bmw's not being made without much power like the S2k. I'm unsure if you've heard of the BMW 330i 🤔 or for that sake the 330i ZHP package that makes around 235hp! 🙃 time for a upgrades perhaps 🤔
Thanks for watching! Here in California it's much more expensive! My 330i only makes 225 to the crank which is close to the S2K but it has two more cylinders. Obviously compression and other factors come into play but it's pretty crazy seeing smaller NA engines with less cylinders put out more power.
Wow ...you poor tha ng....I think you should buy a 4 cyl.you miss the whole torque game .Bmw now uses many turbo s to make horses.......in my e39 540 I it's 70 mph at 2100 ...high torque at low rpm. A 2.5 naturally aspirated motor is a great power plant ....dinan makes great stuff also...
bro you don't know e46 if you think it is hard to get 300whp out of an m3, my friend has an smg(horrible) comp and he has just headers and a tune putting out 320whp.
Notification Squad! Love the videos bro!
with all those mods on your e46 you should be making at least!! 536 hp to the coolant expansion tank
Do you sometimes sit on your shift knob?
Depending on the mood
im in tears man

No hate, but when I looked at your shifter my head just thought "What are THOSE???" :D
Lmao I love the shock factor haha
Do the maintenance your self it’s so much cheaper and it’s easy I did the valve cover gasket and all the lines and the expansion tank my self
Its weird that you both dislike the power that the e46 put out. Definitely right abtout the oil pan gasket bc it leaked then got the sensor and that replaced and the passenger side is failing to
Yes man, maintenance is important!
Unless you're driving in a straight line all day, 231 bhp in the 330Ci is more than enough for any driver.
That is true!

And what inch you used? 2.5 or 3.0 inches?
saleh shaabna DM me on Instagram I'll send you photos of my setup! Thank you!

stupid looking steering wheel and shifter knob didn't make the list?
What I hate:
1. CDV (clutch delay valve)
2. Rust
3. Rear arches (the inner J shape)
4. No turbo
5. Drive by wire (no cable)
One thing i hate about my e46 is the fact now i have to replace my motor...
DO A DIY ON THE WINDOW REGULATORS! I can't even go through drive-through's since mine messed up 💔
its pretty easy tbh i replaced all 4 of mine lmfao its a problem
Don't look at any other video that shoplife vlogs for fixing window regulator and many other things. The guy is superb and lives and breathes E46 Beemers.
Just uploaded one last night
Tor Kellett-Smith +1 on that one. I watch shop life to help out with certain things on my e46 as well!
Jason is fantastic and his girl also. Their work ethic is unbelievable! Bet you dream about an M3 engine conversion in yours too huh! Did you watch the E46 with the V10 M5 conversion on a different channel? Holy hell!
unless you physically change the throw of the shifter (distance between 2 pivot points) it wouldn't matter the length of the shifter

325 owner opinions don’t matter. Change my mind
What the heck is that shifter in your car? It looks like a weapon.
open diff is the one thing that i hate :(
What happened to your G35? And are the parts expensive for the g35? I'm thinking about buying a 2006 sedan. Btw nice E46!
I recently sold it. Parts aren't expensive unless you buy certain aftermarket parts. They're good cars with good power! Thank you!
Static Works I see. Thanks!
Love your bmw! Where can I get those halos?
Hi! What kind of led angel eyes do you have on the headlights? Are they square? Are asome
Can you do a review on the apple car play that’s in your G 🙂
Ahhh those window regulars... hate them!!
How about the lower control arms?
Spray window cleaner into the window slots
They have 320ds and 330ds they have turbo diesel engines with a remap you could have a fun little daily.
US market though so 25 year law unless you somehow swap the motors

Where can i get the headlights bro
I was actually in the market for an e46 nice to know if the things that tend to go wrong with them
If you want a true e46, get either an M3, 330i or 328i.
Anything below those, is shit.
Andres Grijalva thanks for the heads up 👍
What a BUNCHA PUNKS!

E46_Mcqueen where’s the mechanic?
I’m too from Orlando.
Andres Grijalva send me an message on youtube (idk if that's possible) or follow me on IG an send a dm (same as my username) an ill give you his info.
Also delete the clutch delay valve
The light is for low coolant, fill it up
The coolant is full. The sensor under the plastic reservoir is defective.
If you were to race you’re e46 with you’re g35 which would take the win ?
Racing is illegal but I raced two G35s (coupe and sedan) and barely beat them by a bumper. On a track of course! (;
Dude what steering wheel is that?
I have the same model BMW and want to do some modification on, like bumper and such. Can we communicate. Love your videos.
DM me on Instagram @staticdanny
hey man, i drive a 2000 BMW E46 328ci and i modified M3 mirrors on to mine
How difficult was it?
3rds the charm
Stephanie Santiago all the way to 110 mph
i swear i bought a unicorn...love my 330XI ....can't wait to rally cross mine....
Where’d you get that intake from!?
According to my research I believe they stopped selling them. :(
You need to write (m) at the end of your merch link
my website URL is "www.staticworks.co" without the "M". Co=Company
My e46 passenger window is reversed lmao I was soo confused
S2000 actually made 240hp :/ At least the ZHP is 235? Mine still feels kinda slow
Supercharger!
Most of this parts that fail. Oneself can fix.
what do you think about 320ci 2.2 170ps?
If you have thing you hate about your car why even buy in the first place
Wow ...you poor tha ng....I think you should buy a 4 cyl.you miss the whole torque game .Bmw now uses many turbo s to make horses.......in my e39 540 I it's 70 mph at 2100 ...high torque at low rpm. A 2.5 naturally aspirated motor is a great power plant ....dinan makes great stuff also...
Should of recommended 335i for power lol
True. N54s are highly tuneable
No wonder you've got so many leaks look at how you drive, the problem isnt with BMW but with the person that drives it
bro you don't know e46 if you think it is hard to get 300whp out of an m3, my friend has an smg(horrible) comp and he has just headers and a tune putting out 320whp.
BMW only diesel.
Wutttt
