I'm a simple man. I see a fandabidozi video, I watch the video. Even at 4 am
especially at 4 am
Aye, nae skimpin’ on the drams there.... proper “ gentlemen’s measures” ! 🏴👌😁
Love it! Been meaning to buy one for ages, but you've motivated me to buy a carving set and try my hand at making my own instead :D
I find these videos very fun to watch specialy when considering how my own family stems from the Swedish sami. Its amazing how simular yet different things are keep this up I love it.
Listen, I been a woodcarver for...gods, near two decades at this point, and that little cup is a wonderful example of using minimal tools to get a stellar result!
Well, one more thing to add to add to the kit!
Spoon, kuksa, horn flask, and now a quaich to aim for.
Gotta say these videos are absolutely fantastic, would it be possible to do more of these whittling\ carving project's, can watch this all day
I'm carving one of these for my wedding now
Gently tapping the knife blade down to the saw cuts gives me a mini heart attack lol
I was supposed to be going to the Highlands to carve one of these but had to cancel it because of Covid.
I was also planning to go to the highland games this year but covid had to be the party pooper and shut everything down
Your videos are wery inspirational! Thank you! We need more! Can you make some videos about scottish language and beliefs?
Definitely going to have to make one of these
I think the cup is lovely. 💕

That is stunning! Loving the content :)
Well done, it looks fantastic.
Looks good! Something I could rough out to pass the time if/when I go camping up that way
Another cool video. I sat and had a second cup of coffee this morning and watched your video, relaxing. You made it look simple and worth trying someday. Cheers. And congratulations on the subscribers; you definitely put in the work that makes you the real deal.
Beautiful!

Beautiful. Love it.
Great job!
I love this whiskey cup. I did make my own kuksa so would love a go at a quaich too! Great videos.
Brilliant 👍🏻 excellent work
Very interesting video .. thanks for sharing! 👍
The finished product is very good looking. Very sleek and fine-looking.
I'm part Highland Scot and live in the American West (Sierra Nevadas - Northern California) and grew up around my Scottish family. I could not help but notice, when I started watching your videos, the similarities between the cowboys in my family history in terms of traditions and dress with Scottish cattlemen. Our mountain men who first explored the West were often Scotsmen and were in demand as cowboys for their skills derived from their former careers in Scotland. The dress, traditions and even the love of Whiskey is no surprise after I checked just a little history to confirm my suspicions that this strong connection existed. My own family passed through Wyoming and my great-Grandfather was born there, the first white baby born in the Little Big Horn Basin who eventually became a lawman who rode horseback patrols between Paradise, California and out to Lake Tahoe and back.
It would be great to see you come across the pond and explore the similarities and differences with our Western culture and do a series to show the Scottish influence on the history of America and Scotland.
Thanks for all you do and your videos are always enjoyed and looked forward to! -- Jon

Exactly what I need to make
Awesome video as always!
Absolutely gorgeous
That concave chisel is great; nice work!
Fantastic as always my man 😉🤜🏻
Awesome I love waking up to your videos how has the bow you were makeing turned out
I'm going to have to make one.
Certainly brings a "Wee Dram" a whole new meaning.
You should add a couple of hook knives to your collection of wood carving tools if you're going to do more cups or bowls I would suggest a long handled hook knife you can get quite a lot of leverage and most of them have a blade on both sides you can push and pull
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🙏🙏 looks great. Good tutorial. Thanks and be safe.
Нет лучше вещи, чем сделанной своими руками. Отличное видео!
Спасибо!
Beautiful cup. It looks a poem in wood.
Very Nice
Those East European Etsy axes are awesome.
Nice job I do hand carving and chainsaw carving for a living as you know it is very satisfying to make something really nice out of just a peace of old wood
Fandabi Dozi 👍
Mate you are supposed to share that whisky, where is my sip? ;-)
I was under the impression a knot in the birch was used. It’s quite common in Nordic countries
Lovely little video, I really need to get myself a few more carving tools aside from my Japanese kiradashi knife and pocket knives.
Looks fine to me. Will serve its purpose well.
Yo great video I mean what did I expect there always great
nice carving, rustic but beautiful
Very nice, I think I'm going to carve me one
Dozi!...You are great! 🤭💥
new sub
very relaxing vid bro
Nice shiny chisels
I think your wee cup is pure japanese “Wabi-Sabi”.Well done.
I'm new to your channel but look forward to watching more of your many talents.. I was wondering if there was a specific reason why you used birch to craft it from?
Sláinte from the U.S. 😁👍
2:57 Ooh, that circular base suddenly appeared! Nice workmanship, though.
I'm new to carving and I was wandering where you source your wood from?
Can I ask where you got your carving set from? Keep it up lad! 😉
Like ya'nuff to watch the ads
Pretty good job, better than what I can do right now! Now the important question...what brand of whisky ? ;)
I'd love to start a bit more hand woodworking myself and this seems like a great project. For the depression of the Quaich... is that a gouge? and what size? Thanks and good stuff my man!
The real question is what whiskey is he drinking?
Agreed! Single malt for me, please. Straight and with no ice or any other malarkey... We ain't doing cocktails in ma hoose.
@@user-yp7do3kc9d Give "monkey shoulder 'a shot....very tasty 😊
Totally
Jamison for me my friends. Fine smooth whiskey
25 yr old Macallan
Beautiful work Tom! What's your whiskey? I prefer a MacAllan, but have no issues with a Glen Morangie, Glen Fiddich, or a Balvenie. But I'm interested in what a Scotsman drinks :-) Slainte!
Lovely video, thank you! Did the beeswax or linseed oil affect the taste of the whisky at all? For the better, or worse?
Probably makes it a bit sweeter if anything
That's a gorgeous cup, I'm definitely going to have to try this design myself! What size gouge are you using? That looks way more efficient than just my spoon knife...
22mm i think it is
Was this green wood you carved from, or has it seasoned a bit? I thoroughly enjoy your content, incidentally. Keep it coming!
Can you talk about abhainn travel
You make such beautiful carvings. Do you enjoy working with wood??? Do you plan on selling any of your woodwork???? Or would you consider doing requested pieces???
Still waiting for your launch of your highland knife sgian dubh. Ceannaichidh e an uairsin e.
As usual great content, and also a future project of mine..
slàinte !
Ps: ... will we have news on the scottish/survival knife project soon? ( not pressuring... just highly excited )
Thanks very much! I have ordered more blades from Steve and plan to start making them beginning of October. I will let everyone know when they are ready for sale :) cheers!
@@FandabiDozi So excited for this! i'm gonna watch you like a hawk.
Quien aqui de un poco de todo
Time stamp 0:54
What tool are you using?? Is it a gouge?
Just curious but what was that curved tool you used to carve out the bowl?
A curved gouge about 22 mm.
Any chance you can add a link to what carving gouge you used?
Sure: www.etsy.com/uk/listing/638493120/wood-carving-gouge-long-bent-gouges?ref=yr_purchases
Thanks!
I think you just gave me an idea for a retirement present.
Tom ? You're making me thirsty ! 🥃
Deagh obair. Coimhead uamhasach.
I can see u using that new-fangled device called a compass to draw the circle.. anyway... all fun... but attention to detail...
The question is, what whiskey are you drinking?
Do you need an address to send that to? 😜
Is there something you cant do?
2nd
Where can I find a beautiful curved chisel like this please?
If you are in North America look at Lee Valley. Henry Taylor gouges and chisels are made in Sheffield.
It's very neat but generally I wouldn't want to drink good whisky from such a cup - it's kinda bye bye nose ...
