Nicely explained!! I’ve created custom connectors in the past following some instructions but never really understood what I was doing 😂 this video added lots of clarity!!
Great content as always! I'm going to submit a video topic request expanding on this topic. 2 parts, first how to decide custom connector or using azure logic app/azure function app combo, I've run into issues with handling complex json, different call methods or oauth2. The second part is oauth2 authentication with external identity provider, or oauth2 via entra ID for SSO similarity.
Thank you as always very clear crisp yet super detailed video. Thank you so much was always confused about APIs. Also wondering if custom connectors can be used in portals/ power pages?
AFAIK, a bearer token uses the 'Authorization' header so Authorization: Bearer . This is not the same as api-key, which is a query parameter, instead you need to add this as a request header e.g. Content-Type, Cookie etc.
Nice video Damon. I have a question, if we use custom connector inside a Solution in Dev Environment - I am finding it hard to move the solution from DEV to PROD, its saying missing connection and throwing other errors. Do you have any solution for this
Do you specifically mean use a custom connector in a copilot studio agent? Copilot Studio includes premium flows and connectors. It’s in the licensing guide. But if it’s in a flow which is not associated with a copilot, it needs a premium flow license.

Haha - you can join my membership when I launch in New Year? Details on my community page. It’s just a form at the moment but I’m working on it.

Love this one ❤
@@RalfHeid cheers 👍
Great help
Thank you 🤩
Awesome ❤
Great video. What if I have to use the bearer token instead of api_key? How to get there?
Not something I have a video for. You could try forums? Let me know if you work it out.

See if the known limitations help learn.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/custom-connectors/customconnectorssolutions#known-limitations
I see you have the premium license to do the HTTP action. Is there anyway to do this without premium? 7:07

You could instead of a flow create an Azure Logic App instead. Costs pennies per year for low usage and you can use all the premium connectors.
Yes, use an Azure Logic App instead.
Hi, I could love to connect with you on LinkedIn. Would this be possible?
Sure, go for it. 👍
Thanks for accepting my request to connect
