Thank you so much for making this tutorial! I spent three hours trying to figure out how to do this yesterday and it drove me nuts. This was exactly what I needed to see and I got my new code uploaded to my group project repository for the first time.
Pretty sure i've seen you from that Colombia channel. Used to watch and dream of how i'd be in Colombia at one point. Now I'm living in Medellin and you just taught me how to use github!
Now it's so easy even commiting and pushing is now one big button..you just edit your code and press that button then quit the editor and go to sleep..I can't see the complicated part for you
Feeling a little dumb now after try to do it by myself and you showed ne one little button I missed haha but. Thanks for going straight to the point 🙏🏽
@@SamFromaway Sir please help in making a private repository . I am able to commit and push projects in public repository but i dont know how to do in public repository
Short - simple and straight to the point: 👌👌don't know what to say...Just simple perfect video 👍👍👍👍 Why dont make a video covering the VSCode connecting to Colab: that would be great: btw do you have any written document where i can follow the steps too. This wouldbe awsome!
I followed your exact steps until 2:35, where you tried to put the link into VS Code, however when I do it, it always gives me "Git: fatal: '100Devs-Techcrunch-HTML' does not appear to be a git repository" error. Any ideas why? This is so incredibly frustrating. I retried the steps over and over and it keeps coming up with the same error
When I go to Source control, I don't see initialize repository. I already have repository that I usually use but this is a different project and I don't want it to merge to the other repository if I commit. (this has happened in the past and I ended up losing my files)
On your PC/Mac turn on the function that you see "Hidden Files" then go to the folder where you want to initialize the new project with GIT and there should be a folder called .git. Delete that folder and the initialize git will appear.
I followed your steps until 2:40, where you tried to push your commits to the github repo, however when I do it, it always gives me "git: fatal: No configured push destination" error. Any ideas why? This is so incredibly frustrating. I retried the steps like a billion times but it doesn't work.
Hey there. Thanks for the wonderful tutorial, Quick questions : HOW TO SWITCH ACCOUNTS BETWEEN MY PERSONAL ACCOUNT AND OFFICE WORK ACCOUNT? is it possible?
Hello Sam, it seems that if you have github for desktop installed on you computer you don't need to install Git. Can you confirm that? Thanks for you helpfull info
You need to install git as well, as git and github are indpiendent. Github is a cloud based service and git is the actuall "program/code" that stores the changes
Check your "Staging and Commit Settings" in VS code settings especially the: Git: Always Show Staged Changes Resource Group (unchecked) Git: Suggest Smart Commit (checked) Git: Enable Smart Commit (checked)

No annoying intros! no bull sheet! just straight to the point! that's how every video should be. thanks!!!
Short , sweet and simple. Thanks for making learning GIT so easily . Really appreciate your effort!!
Actually it's not that simple. It wouldn't work the way shown in the video without authentication.
Thank you so much for making this tutorial! I spent three hours trying to figure out how to do this yesterday and it drove me nuts. This was exactly what I needed to see and I got my new code uploaded to my group project repository for the first time.

Same here! Lot's of pasts and the message is always the same, "has no remotes..."
