Y'all are doing a great job with Abbott Elementary. By the middle of the 1st season, you can indeed read a dialogue and know which character would say those lines.
You keep helping me get better with the writing advice, keep it up!
Thank you! Glad to hear it's helpful to you :)
Love this channel. Very informative, with very little fluff, from people who actually have written something and got it made. Keep up the great work!
Thank you! I have a lot more coming. What would you like to see on this channel?
Maybe how to write a musical? I know that's not everyone's cup of tea, but it has its own specific structure.
People watch sitcoms because they're lonely. You develop a parasocial relationship with the characters over time. The jokes keep it entertaining. Myself I find most sitcoms boring unless there's something more interesting at play, like in Archer where it's a workplace sitcom in a crazy spy agency doing wacky missions.
Archer is great. Thanks for watching
@@BehindtheCurtain Archer has some of the best dialogue play I ever heard.
Loveeee Abbot Elementary. I haven’t laughed that genuinely since modern family and superstore
Not pushing through with a lackluster episode was a great lesson!
I had never heard a writer talk about that before
11:20 background music feels like a laughing track on a sitcom.
Great vid as always!
I appreciate it!
If the writers are reading, I really want Eddie B Comedy to play the recurring role of a parent who has three kids at the school in different grade levels so the character sticks around a while. 🙏🏾 Just do it?
Never even heard of 'Abbott Elementary'... :(
Emmy winning!
great episode!
Thank you!
awesome video!
Thanks!
I may be the only one but I really miss live-audience/laugh-track sitcoms
The Office really set the trend away from this, I feel like
@@BehindtheCurtain And Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Arrested Development. Honestly for the better because one of the reason that most of the sitcoms I watch are animated is because they do not have laughter tracks, which get super grating when jokes are not funny.
Watching cheers again recently. It's a feeling of sharing with friends.
Helpful video thank you! And you have a very biblical name ❤
Sitcoms are funny?
😂
There are a lot of comments nowadays criticizing sitcoms (specially old ones) but they have their charm, y'know?
but I don't like sitcoms
Honestly, I don't watch a ton, but I was surprised how much I learned from these guys.
