You stuck with your 3 year plan then? Kalgoorlie is truly a great place that has been misrepresented through media. I'm going to try har to change that 😃
@@sue_ung i was there because my husband was doing PhD and we left when he’s finished. Yes! I love the community, the people are just so awesome. I had been a city girl before I moved to Kalgoorlie but when I lived there, I realized I prefer small town. Everywhere is 5mins away and having limited option of things to buy actually worked for me - I didnt get too overwhelmed having too many choices 😅
@@sue_ung what 3 year plan can u elaborate please. I'm waiting for my visa to get into Tafe in Perth, hopefully they give me the visa next month but who knows
Hi @@hendrawijaya3003 !! Welcome to my channel 😁 the 3 year plan I am referring to is just what people do when they first move to Kalgoorlie for work. Usually it starts as a 2 year plan, then they move it to 3 years and then 5 years and sure enough you stay for 10 like us or others love it so much they stay for a lot longer. Not many people stick to their initial 2 or 3 year plan 😅
@@Rookiejournal_ this makes me so happy to hear!! You are totally correct, the convenience of the distance and also the limited range definitely works for me. And realistically our postal service is pretty good here so online shopping works too when we need it. Thank you for your positive comment about Kalgoorlie 🥰

Visited Kalgoorlie in October for a week before travelling to Esperance where l lan on retiring. Definitely prefer the bigger WA country towns than Perth, but compared to Edinburgh l found it quite expensive.
Hi Andrew, I can agree that some things definitely have a Kalgoorlie tax/price on it as I think because we are a mining city however, I reckon the income (depending on what you do) counteracts this. We find it a lot cheaper than NZ. Did I hear you say you are retiring in Esperance? How lucky...it is such a beautiful place to retire. Thank you so much for commenting and watching my videos 😁

We’re researching about the DAMA program and came across your video. Are there filipinos in kalgoorlie? What would you say are the biggest adjustments, if any, that we might need to do if we’re moving from Perth city to Kalgoorlie? Thank you
@aristotleneilocampo825 I am not aware of the DAMA program but I do know that there are plenty of Filipinos in Kal..Even 3 asian grocers run by Filipinos 😍 I don't think there will be many adjustments going from Perth. Only thing to prepare for is that there isn't many choice. Be prepared to do online shopping or big shops when going to Perth. Has what you need ay stock standard supermarket prices.

Hi Vishvjeet, that must be such an exciting move for you. There is plenty of work around town. Lots of pubs, restaurants, takeaways, cafes, and maybe even some industrial places. I recommend you search on Seek and join some community Facebook pages to express your needs. According to Google the crime rate in Kalgoorlie is very high. According to me...I feel as safe living here as I would in New Zealand or Melbourne. There are issues and incidents that occur and they come in waves. I would not have stayed here for 11 years if I didn't feel that safe. 🙂 I hope this was helpful

Hi Hariman the best way to find a rental property in Kalgoorlie would be to contact 1 of the many real estate agents around town. Also there are caravan parks that offer accommodation as well. Sorry I can't help further as I work full time and physically helping people 1 to 1 is not what I am planning on doing.

Hi sorry Ali only just saw your comment. Always look on Seek first and there are job seekers pages on Facebook as well that you could ask what jobs are available. Being a mining town experience in the field and having a number of certificates are usually benefial. There are some jobs that are entry level that requires nothing but a great attitude. Hope it goes well 👍🙂

@Ali Hassan Jakhro well it all depends on what you are after and what you can do. There is usually work within the labs doing processing work. Some operating but need licences to operate. Seek will have it all listed
