Manhunt Soundtrack - 19 - Trained To Kill

- Track 19 of the amazing soundtrack to Manhunt, Rockstar's infamous game. In my opinion, it's a masterpiece of darkwave/electronic/ambient music, reminiscent of classic John Carpenter soundtracks such as Assault on Precinct 13.
All tracks composed by Craig Conner.

Just picture it: you're standing in an old train yard in the dead of night and it's raining heavily. You're the only person around and it feels as if there's nothing beyond the train yard through all the fog. You've been through hell and back already but suddenly you stop and think for a moment about the insanity, while the rain pours and the fog thickens.
This track is another of my favourites because it has such a special isolated feeling, the main sample used is just gorgeous.
I've felt like that when I'm wandering the woods in San Andreas. A lot of places in that game give me Manhunt vibes.
this one of the worst just picture its i ever head my whole life
"Suspect believed to be in the area. Approach with extreme caution, he is armed and is considered to be highly dangerous."
00Raveran00 I just red that in dispatches voice in my head...ooooooh goosebumps!!!
@@Tommyjoe379 That often plays on their radios as I choke the first cop to death with wire :)
Idk why but anytime she said that it gave me chills. Guess it’s cause Ik what Cash is capable of and these guys have no idea what’s coming to them
Dispatch! We got a man down!
B1xst3r “Sniper one please report your position”
This is one of the best soundtracks of all the game
Alchile
I remember playing this as a kid at that drop at 4:30 scared the shit out of me, this track prob being the most memorable of them, straight mastery in atmospheric sound design
That drop gets me too to this day 😂 You can never truly prepare yourself for it.
Hmm... framed for murder... idk. I think that the Cash we got was pretty good. The fact that he was actually a criminal, probably rightfully detained and sentenced, kept begging the question as to whether or not to really feel sorry for him. I think the way that the game is presented leaves quite a few questions up to the player to answer. For example, "Am I really just as sick as these murderers for getting enjoyment out of their deaths?" So the whole wrongfully-wanted thing kind of
Hes been on the run since 92 in San Andreas and other citys
He was an enforcer for an organised crime syndicate in San Andreas.
I’d like to think he was a hitman for the mafia considering they usually only kill other guys as bad as them or worse
I wanna find out his life during county and the days before his "execution" and what strings Starkweather was pulling to see it through, an unwilling actor barely 'released' from jail so to speak
thats my twin necron right there
They killed it with the synth sound just like in The Warriors or a John Carpenter soundtrack.
Las bandas te quieren muerto...
La ley no quiere tu arresto, La ley quiere verte muerto...

y los Cerberus solo te "salvan" para matarte
Pero madre mía, Willy, ¿qué estás haciendo aquí, compañero?

Favorite track of the game for sure. Definitely one of the best game soundtracks of all time.
this game is WAY better than manhunt 2 thumbs up if you think so!
100%
manhunt 2 isn’t bad wtf?
has an great story

Andres Gil Yeah! But I think Manhunt 2 was alright I beat it!
The atmosphere of the first fucks everything
one of my fav tracks of the game.. lol.. 'tracks'...
Music is scary and badass!
Rockstar debería de hacer un remasterizado o un remake urgente de ésta joya, pero ya!😢
No lo harán, no por las críticas, sino porque Manhunt tiene muy pocos fans y así no habría ganancias para gran R judía.
the part when the bass drops, boy that was a scary shit in this scene, so aggressive
I like the creepy and aggression vibes in this song. I also like how the combat part had some parts of the "White Trash" Idle part.
"I know you feel safe hiding in the shit!"
4:30 Don't fuckin' move!
Tricky level, but not as bad as the previous one. I love how the intro showed Piggsy breaking free and starting his rampage and the outer show the SWAT get swamped by the Cerberus right when Cash was damn near getting shot down.
I found this one miles harder than
Wrong Side Of The Tracks.
Trained to Kill, View of Innocence and Fuelled by Hate have the best soundtracks.
Also Divided We Fall and Deliverance
Doing Time aswell, the suspense from the suspicious music was so Carpenteresque.
Without my permission before, it was even old enough to buy a beer.
Manhunt 2 tried WAAY too hard to be as messed up as possible with all that amnesia and split personality cluster stuff that didn't make sense. Original simple : Silent (Mostly) protagonist just killing in conveniently set up locations
Manhunt was horror, Manhunt 2 was torture porn.
Manhunt 2 had too much shooting in it for me, Manhunt 1 is a masterpiece IMO
Manhunt 2 is so good but the first is the real masterpiece
Nah. Manhunt 2 sucked big dick.
All this Manhunt 2 hate. 2 is great. It's great for not being like the first one. Equally great soundtrack and ambience.
I agree 100%. Couldn't have said it better. Sometimes, simpler is better. Just like a meal, if you try to gussy it up too much, it tastes blah. That's what happened with MH2. It didn't even feel as SCARY as pt. 1.
The kill scenes were heavily neutered as well.
Yeah. A simple and solid storyline is way better than a complex and twisted one.
4:30 spotted
5:59 combat
You're right about the improved play mechanics. Definitely above MH1's limited mechanics. But everything else was so lackluster. I can forgive the censored kills (Not R*s fault), but not the absent music and SUPER easy difficulty. There weren't even any bonus rounds! It was a letdown. I'm glad I rented it and saved $50 at the time. I beat it in 2 days...
Are you talking about Manhunt 2?
Yeah in a way MH2 was missing alot there was only ONE bonus level even then it didnt feel like a bonus hehe
MH2 was a major letdown. It lacked the terror and tension that MH1 had. I had high hopes for Craig Conner and he didn't bring the same sound quality as he did here.
It was also heavily censored compared to the first.
The concept/premise was also kind of dumb too, not very realistic, and while Cash was kind of devoid of any personality; he was more tolerable for me than Danny or Leo, who were an annoying whiner and a massive prick, respectively.
A lot of people seem to want a third Manhunt, but if we somehow get one; I really hope they try to make it as good as the first one.
At least Craig Conner did a good job with the GTA IV soundtrack though, not the same atmosphere as this but a very good job.
@@basedbattledroid3507 The Grand Theft Auto IV Theme was made by Michael Hunter btw.
@Eaxl 2 was: Tryhard gorn
@@henkerr It was funny how their head just pop like balloons.
I believe you. Didn't mean to sound like I didn't trust you or anything ;)
This level is hard as fuck
4:30 очень брутальный трек, подстать этому уровню.
holy tranquility...
Is it weird I find this relaxing ?????????????????
Genial :D
Makes him... too identifiable. Idk, but it sounds like Manhunt 2 did what you described, with Daniel Lamb being sort-of a puppet of Leo, and therefor not really rightfully treated by the law. I'm probably over-analyzing it, though. Still love this game! MH1 was always my favorite of the two Manhunts ;)
He'ss playing with us and I'll make him regret every PHUCKING second of it😂
I got toasted bagels and a bottle of borbon with your name on it...come on out
This level is so hard because I keep dying from the cops and their strong revolvers and shotguns I managed to kill them but now I can’t kill the swat guys with uzis because they melt you down In a second
4:29 that was just a BOOM!
2:04 - 2:40 Ahí está el punto dulce de la canción
@@Booger_6996 Google... es como en la Deep Web, cuanto más busques, mejores resultados obtendrás~
@bevlian89 It's definitely a great track in a collection of awesome MH tracks.
I especially like this one because it's depressing as well as frightening. It really fit the rainy, somber setting of the train yard.
2 HUGE thumbs up. There wasn't EVEN a soundtrack to it!! Even with added play mechanics, the ATMOSPHERE was gone and the more complex storyline didn't fit as well as the simpler, cooler storyline from MH1. Hope they're working on a MH3 to get back on track.
For me what makes this track worse is the fact it’s the police you’re fighting in this scene. The music is a lonely desperate eery feel to it like “even the police won’t help you here, they’re also out to kill you” it makes it worse that they’re your enemies here
4:37
These Cops sure like to do corrupt things
Does anyone know what this sound is called in the first half of the soundtrack?
9/10
Pigsy is free 😱
Que música foda!!
Beta Cash? You mean his story or his look? I like his look, but I heard he was supposed to be framed for murder originally.
Wait... I heard it from YOU!
I hate this level
It's very easy)
The tip for this level is "shoot and hide" when there are many cops shooting you. Keep doing that until a few of them left.
Not terribly hard, but the main thing that annoys me is how the checkpoints are spread so far apart.
William Salinas * CUE GETTING MOWED DOWN BY THOSE COPS WITH THE SUBMACHINE GUNS IN 3 SECONDS FLAT *
It's so easy I beat the whole game in hardcore difficulty all 5 stars I have a tip for you it's better to hit a wall and kill them before walking to the checkpoint hit.
i felt the controls in MH2 a bit weird
Why does this remind me of Half-Life 2?
You mean Half Life 2 soundtracks reminds you of Manhunt because Manhunt was made in 2003 and Half Life 2 is 2004.
@@b1xst3r65 Most of Half-Life 2 soundracks were taken from Half-life 1, which was released in 1998.
Yeah, they were both too much of a shooting game... I guess it makes sense, as if you're getting chased by cops and those mercenaries from MH2, they're probably gonna use guns, but the obvious way around making it an action-based shooting game is better level design. There should have been plenty of shadows to hide in in the shooting levels to at least allow stealth, but they tended to be built like Call of Duty levels, with cover set up everywhere and fewer shadows :(
Morrer de medo
Hardest level by far
border patrol is more difficult
white boring game
that attention span be wild then 🗣
Fun is subjective, this game was quite the challenge. Also the enemy AI makes this superior over the GTA series from that time except maybe San Andreas since it had something to offer and that is content.
You have a Roblox pfp so stfu 🤣😂
4:30 anybody knows what's that type of bass is called?
Darkwave type beat?
damn I don´t know but it sounds aggressive as fuck to be a synth bass, not a bass guitar
