It's not just that Nezuko was dying that caused Tanjiro to hesitate. Nezuko is his entire motivation as a demon slayer. his decision was either lose what he was fighting for or betray the people he was fighting with. In the end he didn't even make that desicion. Nezuko, without hesitation, made that desicion for him.
Also during the fight with Akaza and Rengoku Tanjiro would have actually made it much harder for Rengoku because it would slow him down trying to keep Tanjiro alive while still fighting.
Tanjiro is also such a refreshing protagonist, and this training arc brings it out so much. Also him practicing as a ballerina was very funny and cute 🥰

The animation is amazing, and it's a good beginner anime. But when it comes down to the actual writing of the story. It really is mediocre. There's no real depth to the characters and all the character development happens for others off screen. There's a lot of other reasons but there's no actual growth for Tanjiro. He stays the same essentially throughout the whole show. So, yes it's mid, and the pacing is not good, but Ufotable does an amazing job with the animation and Yuki Kajiura's composing in the first season was immaculate. So while it's not as deep as Bleach or Naruto or One Piece. It's alright if you're not looking for something that'll change your view on life or give you any actual lessons.

In the fight with Rui Tanjiro's internal monologue explained that if he changed forms midway through the dance technique he'll be stunned for a couple seconds and later during Mugen Train it was mentioned that the Hinokami Kagura is an power yet draining form and the very next arc went into greater detail but even then we knew what we needed to know to understand that Tanjiro was too tired to act until he had more time to recover sped along with his Recovery Breathing Technique but still time was needed
To be honest, Tanjiro is the only character in the series who is torn between two compelling choices: either protecting his relative / loved one from dying or saving innocent people. On the other hand, i think his (and others) inability to help Regoku is because the author wanted to gave Regoku time to shine by fighting Akaza alone, because even though Tanjiro was injured pretty badly both before and after Mugen Train arc (so much so that in the next arc, Entertainment District arc he fought two Upper Moons in a row) and continued to fight until the end.
1) tanjiro was a lot stronger in the entertainment district arc like by A lot. He had no chance against an upper moon during Mugen train arc. 2) even as strong as tanjiro got for the entertainment district, he still had to be saved by Nezuko, and tengen a couple times during the fight. 3) Akaza is WAY stronger than upper 6 lol like Akaza would destroy upper 6 quicker than he did Rengoku.

Without those marks they literally die. Tanjiro saves Nezuko and Genya with his BIQ in battle as well. Can’t believe ppl were saying this for when Tanjiro was literally having a full blown panic attack. You're right about Akaza not being at full power, but if Rengoku had awakened his demon slayer mark or had the transparent world, it would've given him an advantage in battle, potentially stalling Akaza a bit longer for sunlight to reach him, however Rengoku doesn't use Sun Breathing, it's Flame Breathing. And it's worth noting that Rengoku faced Upper Moon 3, Akaza, An opponent that is far stronger than him, and he fought him alone, it usually takes 2 to 3 hashiras to beat an Upper Moon, so he actually did a great job at his performance against Akaza.
The villagers almost dying portion is ALWAYS the point I bring up when some hater says “Tanjiro is the PERFECT PERSON WITH NO FLAWS”. It’s not true because we see how he could be selfish for his own family if it came down to it.

Adding onto the Rengoku point, Tanjiro's strength and stamina was depleted from using an incredibly powerful attack that caused the train to derail. Think about it: Tanjiro cut through something that had the thickness of Gyomei's waist, and was probably as dense as solid steel! Next to Rengoku, Tanjiro was probably the only 1 out of the 3 who could cut through that demon's neck.

Alright guys, hear me out- Alothough at that point in the story, the concept of Demon Slayer Marks had not been revealed to us, because Tanjiro was in fact the first person to manifest it later in the story, if Tanjiro had gone all out and helped Rengoku, perhaps he would have awakened his Demon Slayer mark there and then. As well as this, it is said in the later episodes that when there is a user of the awakened slayer mark, others are able to manifest it as well along side them. This would mean that if Tanjiro had joined the fight between Rengoku and Akaza, if he had managed to awaken his demon slayer mark, Rengoku would have surely wakened his aswell, giving Rengoku the upper hand, and most likely, preventing his death.
Bruh, it's like they intentionally forgot that Tanjiro was stabbed by the train conductor and was bleeding out and had to stay still to use total concentration constant to stop from bleeding out. Even Rengoku pointed that out.
There is another point you forgot to mention and that is that Tanjiro became a demon slayer for his sister and that is another reason that he didn't try to protect those people

I think one of the most important points in here it's that tanjiro didn't become a demon slayer because he wanted to, but to help nezuko be human again, from that point of view tanjiro is not the typical protagonist that want to be the greatest hero, he just wanted to be her sister's hero.

I think this guy on that sub Reddit also forgot that Tanjiro had been stabbed in the gut and would have bled out had he tried to assist Rengoku. Even Inosuke who had come out of the train relatively uninsured compared to Tanjiro said that if he tried to jump in and fight he would be killed immediately.

Tangero because a demon slayer to find a cure for nezuco, so it makes sense hed hesitate to let her burn in the sun, after all if she did die what was tangero fighting for, when nezuco pushed him she was telling him to save the swordsmiths, and he couldnt let her sacrifice end in vein if he tgen tryed to save her still its a huge decision tangero had to make and nezuco saw it and knew what he needed to do wether she lived or died, she was willing to sacrifice herself for the people who forged the swords that helped tangero fight for her,

Without those marks they literally die. Tanjiro saves Nezuko and Genya with his BIQ in battle as well. Can’t believe ppl were saying this for when Tanjiro was literally having a full blown panic attack. He wasn’t hesitating, he was most likely incapable of moving due to the stress going through his body at the moment. He was put between the decision of saving a few people who most likely wouldn’t matter to him, or saving his only surviving family member aka the whole reason why he’s a demon slayer. Which he never got to make that decision, Nezuko made it for him due to his panic attack
Not only was Tanjiro injured, but if he would to be in combat with him he would die, but he couldn’t move anyway.

Even with the others fight Rengoku would either have survived and or still be killed because without a demon slayer mark, the usage of sun breathing, or the transparent world Rengoku just doesn’t stand a chance even in the anime akaza wasn’t taking Rengoku serious not even using his full power sorry Rengoku fan boys Rengoku is screwed either way he just wasn’t meant to survive
You're right about Akaza not being at full power, but if Rengoku had awakened his demon slayer mark or had the transparent world, it would've given him an advantage in battle, potentially stalling Akaza a bit longer for sunlight to reach him, however Rengoku doesn't use Sun Breathing, it's Flame Breathing. And it's worth noting that Rengoku faced Upper Moon 3, Akaza, An opponent that is far stronger than him, and he fought him alone, it usually takes 2 to 3 hashiras to beat an Upper Moon, so he actually did a great job at his performance against Akaza.
The villagers almost dying portion is ALWAYS the point I bring up when some hater says “Tanjiro is the PERFECT PERSON WITH NO FLAWS”. It’s not true because we see how he could be selfish for his own family if it came down to it.

Adding onto the Rengoku point, Tanjiro's strength and stamina was depleted from using an incredibly powerful attack that caused the train to derail. Think about it: Tanjiro cut through something that had the thickness of Gyomei's waist, and was probably as dense as solid steel! Next to Rengoku, Tanjiro was probably the only 1 out of the 3 who could cut through that demon's neck.

Alothough at that point in the story, the concept of Demon Slayer Marks had not been revealed to us, because Tanjiro was in fact the first person to manifest it later in the story, if Tanjiro had gone all out and helped Rengoku, perhaps he would have awakened his Demon Slayer mark there and then. As well as this, it is said in the later episodes that when there is a user of the awakened slayer mark, others are able to manifest it as well along side them. This would mean that if Tanjiro had joined the fight between Rengoku and Akaza, if he had managed to awaken his demon slayer mark, Rengoku would have surely wakened his aswell, giving Rengoku the upper hand, and most likely, preventing his death.
