Yesterday in Andre's stream he was like "yea we got some spoilers, they're kinda whatever, no big deal" I'm here expecting decent cards. Instead we get absolute heaters of cards.
i'm playing netrunner for a 1 week ago to now, i'm love with the mechanic of the game, so gratefull, and i'm happy that the comunity keep the game alive =D
I really appreciated you walking through the use patterns for a Charlotte you IAA! That was a level of thinking about the card in play that I don't always manage on my own, and it illustrated the potential value really well!
@@Infusion85 Check the NSG blog post about the new community manager. It's hidden in there. If that ever gets scored, it's definitely going to be important for the runner to have a target ice on the table to "defuse" the effect before potentially running into a Sneaky Snek; along that note, Tao/Thimblerig stonks are rising (and maybe even Pelangi as well -- not going to believe in Cordyceps just yet).
For a faction that needs more economy (especially with a massive snake lurking), Charlotte delivers on flavor and utility. Looking forward to more A Teia support to revamp Jinteki as more Psi-hunters and less sigh--- grinders.
The greatest foe of hobbyists everywhere A Busy Life made me fall out of netrunner for several months. Warms my heart to know there's still the perfect place for me to come to get back up to speed!
I am surprised Forged Activation Order didn't at least get a shout out against Cloud Eater. Not a very popular card, but jeez that is a nightmare scenario for the corp.
Some Cloud Eater notes: I believe for the purpose of cards such as Dummy Box, the corp trashes a runner card on both parts of the card, but the runner tags themself or hits themself with net damage with the encounter text, while the corp tags them or deals net damage with the subroutines. I don't think we currently have cards that care which side of the table does these things, but it might matter later on. Cloud Eater, like Anansi, also fizzles and does not trigger its end-of-encounter text if you use Capybara to derez it after bypassing it, or otherwise derez or trash it before the end of the encounter (Hippo, "Baklan" Bochkin, and Chisel [+ Devil Charm] can all do this as well.)
That's a super interesting point, regarding who is doing the tagging and damage. I'm pretty sure that exact wording nuance came up in regard to The Cleaners (which cared about doing meat damage) being a non-bo with Argus Security (which allowed the runner to suffer meat damage). I think the only card that currently cares about that distinction in the Standard format is Prāna Condenser?
The new animated intro based on Charlotte is AWE. SOME. I wonder how much work it was and how you get this slightly shifty 3D perspective impression out of a single artwort? Aren't there details lacking if foreground objects move too much? Did you have access to the layers of the artwork, to make this easier? (Edit: also, the cards rock ^^) (Edit2: ah the answers come up in the video with Pat, really nice)
Glad you like it cmur! I was lucky enough to receive a photoshop file from NSG which had most of the art assets separated in layers. After masking some objects to make my own layers, I set up these individual assets into 3D layers, and dolly a 'camera' back and forward to create the 3D effect. It's totally true that a bunch of backgrounds and foregrounds stop existing once other objects move too much, so I have to do a bunch of painting to fix that. It's a lot of work, but equally a lot of fun!
Imo you could just IAA Charlotte in a new remote and the Runner may not run it, thinking it's an Urtica. Then you get your value and challenge them to spend a click running it or else you get more value.
I don't think cloud eater is scary if you don't have tag punishment. Then omg, the runner takes tags all day and clears them out slowly while disrupting HQ. I think Cloud breaker leaves too much of a choice to the runner, that is the big downside imho.
Since you usually talk positively about pronunciation guides, in the card Charlotte Caçador, the second word is pronounced /ka.saˈdoɾ/ the same "sa" pronunciation emphasis you would use on the world dis"sa"tisfaction, the ç in this case has the sound of "sa" not of "cha" hope it helps.
I'm so glad someone found our "new species of snake in the Amazon discovered by Will Smith" ARG

Multiple times over the last couple of weeks of streams, I had to pretend I didn't remember what the big Jinteki snake was. :p

Amazing production values yet again
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it, eh!

I totally agree! It looks like she'll find a home across both trap archetypes and more ice-focused generalist stuff. Colour me excited.

Drop by any time, eh!
You are telling me the power creep on cloud eater is actually faithful to the source.
You animated the card... Insert "You SOB I'm in..." meme

I'll be honest, I had to double check whether that one was in System Update 2021 or 2019. :p

big snek is scary
My neurons fire for animal facts. You have a calling as a science communicator haha! I can’t believe we’re missing a vomernasal organ 😅
Look, the science says that you _might_ still have remnants of a lizard smell organ.
Thanks for the kind words, Alex!
top teir content as always, cant wait to see Charlotte in action
Awesome as always, Andrej!
Does Charlotte work with La Costa Grid?
She totally does! You can choose the order of your "start of turn" triggers.
LOVE THAT INTRO ❤ 😮 ❤

mindscaping, baseball bat is good included
Came for the spoilers, left with an ecology lesson
Thank you for subscribing to Snake Facts!
Yes!
Adrian pSeis full art wen?
Here's to hoping João Queiroz was able to complete the full set of Liberation Cycle sysops!
Psi games are fun I love that we are getting more
They add even more game theory elements to the game. Who are you playing? How do they usually play psi games? Love it
Snek
The NSG art is for the most part the most disappointing aspect of the new cycle

Huge. Thanks so much for pointing that out!
