Doctor Strange saw that the only way it would all work was if Tony sacrificed himself. He saw what Loki was doing behind the scenes. Loki recruited HIMSELF into the TVA after recruiting Mobius and other underdogs in order to humble and guide him. He even created Sylvie so that he could see from the outside what he had once been like and learn to ‘love himself.’ He has to tell her and his past self to not be selfish and power hungry (akin to Charles telling Logan to ‘guide his younger self’ in X-Men: Days of Future Past. He was ‘acting’ bad in the Avengers!! Loki admired Tony because of what he was doing. His purpose was to save the universe! 😭 He told Thor that the ‘Sun would shine on them again’ because he KNEW that they would reunite again eventually and told Thanos ‘You will never be a God.’ Because Loki was always that many steps ahead in the grand scheme of things. He was guiding himself and everyone else the ENTIRE time!😌💚 Btw: Loki called Don ‘Mobius’ due to Tony discovering the ‘Mobius’ strip’ in Endgame. He always admired Tony’s ‘glorious purpose’ and that’s why he keeps referring to him in the ‘Loki’ series and Mobius knows ALL about Loki because HE, Loki MADE him that way!😉🧬 He actually planned to get killed by Thanos in order to save Thor from being snapped and he knew that he would come back one way or another. He said these things for a reason! “I assure you brother, the sun will shine on us again” and “You’ll never be a God!” Despite Frigga saying: ‘You’re so perceptive about everyone but yourself,’ the older, wiser Loki knows himself well enough in order to change the other, younger version of himself. He knows EVERYTHING about the Avengers members in the first Avengers movie for a REASON! 😉 So there. Loki is indeed more important to the Marvel Universe than we all realised. 😌💚 Thor, Hulk and Loki about the ‘Sun.’ God of Stories Loki made it so that the phrase the ‘sun is going down’ to calm the Hulk down and subdue him and the ‘sun shining on him and Thor again’ was to inspire hope and energy. ☀️ Loki is the ‘World Serpent’ Jörmungandr. 🐍 He created the World Tree Yggdrasil otherwise known as the ‘Tree of Life.’ 🌳 His new helmet is made out of ‘universal rock’ with the essence of the Time Stone in its core. 🟢 His previous horned helmets were gold and so is his new throne because he is an incarnation of Midas.⚱️ The Time Stone is green because of Loki. Did he create it? Did he some how get it to Sanctum Sanctorum? 🟢 Did Loki make Heimdall send Bruce to the Sanctum in Infinity War since Loki had been there before (in Ragnarok?) Is that why Bruce mentions ‘Loki’ to Tony, Stephen and Wong informing and warning them about Thanos? So Loki WAS supposed to take the Tesseract in the Endgame heist after all. Kang planned it! 🤯🟦 He can read and control minds 🟡 He can traverse space 🔵 He can control and manipulate time 🟢 He has died and come back to life many times and sacrificed his soul to save the multiverse 🟠 He can manipulate reality with powerful illusions 🔴 He has the power of the multiverse as he absorbed *THREE* black holes when the loom exploded 🟣 And he can rewrite *EVERYTHING!* 🖊️📖 ✨🤯 He is an *OMNIPRESENT, OMNIPOTENT NEXUS BEING* at this point! Did he some how get it to Sanctum Sanctorum? 🟢 Did Loki make Heimdall send Bruce to the Sanctum in Infinity War since Loki had been there before (in Ragnarok?) Is that why Bruce mentions ‘Loki’ to Tony and Stephen informing and warning them about Thanos? This show just changed Marvel in just about EVERY WAY! 🤯 He didn’t ‘break the loop.’ He ‘became the loop’ in order to save his friends, family and the entire multiverse. ♾️ Tony sacrificed himself to save half of the universe. Loki sacrificed himself to save the entire *MULTIVERSE!* 🤯 He’s not only the ‘protector of the nine realms’ but *ALL* of existence in *EVERY UNIVERSE!* Making him *MORE* powerful than Odin the ‘All-Father.’ 🤯 He can hear, see, influence and *FEEL* every being in the *ENTIRE MULTIVERSE!* 💚 He didn’t take the infinity stones or crave power anymore but to instead protect the universe and that’s what he’s doing and *THAT* gave him the ultimate power of God! 🥹💚 🔴🟠🟡🟢🔵🟣🚫 It really was ‘Loki All Along.’ 😉💚
Makes you wonder if Loki's desire for and acceptance of redemption (a glorious purpose) was knowing he was "A" Loki, not just "The" Loki. When he met the alternate versions of himself, they were all wildly different from him. Before that, he'd always been raging from his belief that he was destined to be what he always had been. Knowing that every possible fate, great or terrible, would have a Loki to see it through also meant that his own personal fate was his to make. Loki, God of Stories.
Loki truly became something special to me after dark world. Through that and ragnarok, he quickly became my favorite character with his story and conflicts. The Loki series had definitely solidified that.
I can listen to hiddleston talk all day!! I’m so sad that we saying goodbye to Loki but what a a send off , both seasons one and two of Loki was just fantastic 💚
It’s a little strange how consistently the most emotionally resonant lines from phases 4-5 have been suggested by the actors. Paul Bettany with the “grief persevering” line, David Arbour with the American pie bit, Paul Rudd has god damn writing credits for Quantumania because of how much was improvised and added. It’s usually the writers who have these lines in mind guys, not the actors. It’s a competent director who can make the right choice to step back and allow the actor to contribute like that, but first and foremost the writer/director should have the best insights into these characters. There’s this weird pattern of the actors of the MCU pulling more weight than just lending a great performance.
I think it's a lot less strange when you consider how long some of these actors have been living with their characters. Thor was released in 2011, and Loki season 2 came out 12 years later, the second season of television built off 5 (including Infinity War) appearances. It's not surprising they have a lot of emotions and ideas to contribute, and honestly it's quite smart of them to make space for him to offer that.
I think that Loki is one of the most interesting and memorable of Marvel's characters because Tom MADE him be interesting and memorable !!! He audictioned to play Thor, but nobody could play Loki better than him, a succesful case of good casting. Tom took a vilain and transformed him in the most human of the gods and the bad guy we learned to love. What an amazing job!!
Being familiar with the mythology itself, Loki going thru the learning cycle and then coming to that realization of self-sacrifice was an amazing touch on the writers parts. He goes thru an Odin arc to ascend to a higher purpose. And it was so well executed. For those unfamiliar, Odin cares a lot about learning and does a lot of self-sacrificing in order to better himself in the mythology, giving up his eyes and hanging from Yggdrasil to know the runes, etc.
This entire series just goes to show that tv series can be as good as or more than the movie counterparts, if you have a team that cares for the story. Such an emotional and beautiful full circle finale with so much symbolism and depth to Loki as a character. Ascending to his throne not out of entitlement but as the true definition of selfless glorious purpose. He has become my favourite character arc in the mcu. I can’t believe Loki this whiny mischievous god wanting power ended up becoming the ruler of all time and universes but for a completely different reason than his original ideals. A true work of art for the MCU.
honestly you and Ali Plumb are my fav. interviewers - always respectful, give time & attention and it's about the people you interview and not how funny you guys are.. my respect my man!!!

I just got round to watching Loki, both seasons, recently and... damn. I was.... actually really really impressed! ... Especially with that amazing finale! Good stuff guys, aside from a couple weak points it was an EXCELLENT series! I am thoroughly impressed.

The ending was amazing and it would be a perfect ending to the MCU Loki turned the Loom into the Ygdrassil at For All Time. So Loki’s creation became reality since the beginning of time. So when the Ancient Asgard study the Multiverse they understand it as tree when Odin eventually teaches it to children Loki and Thor. Odin is actually teaching them Loki’s creation. To further blow your mind, everything that happens in the MCU happens through Ygdrassil that Loki can control. So every humiliation, defeat, beatdown that happens to every Loki in the multiverse happens because Loki wills it.
Sometimes I wonder just how much of MCU Loki as we know it only came to be because TH was cast. I'm sad this is supposed to be the end, but I'm glad we got what we did.
I don't super love the Loki series personally, but Loki's last sequence was so damn good. The visual of Yggdrasil, Loki's line coupled, the most beautifully 'plain' Loki outfit we've seen (black horns instead of blatant gold, simple and dark clothing instead of opulent Asgardian diva), all as part of demonstrating that this is a Loki that no longer "misses the truth of ruling." Tom Hiddlestone really was the best casting choice they could have made for Loki. The way that he wrote this line while jogging and listening to the original score is just great.
Serious chills down my spine. Such a profound moment for Loki, coming full circle. What an incredible journey for Tom to be apart of. A true showman to his craft, bravo sir.
I really loved the call back and the circle of the ending. But what I felt was missing was a ghostly Odin, or even just his voice, saying he was proud of Loki.
Robert D.J, became Iron Man, and nobody else could be him. You can't possibly truly split the actor and the character. I thought nobody else could accomplish that by a deep and great acting. But now, i think Tom Hiddleston and Loki, are the only others who were able to do the same.
A 14 year journey for Tom Hiddleston and an epic experience for the viewers. Tom knew the character inside and out- his delivery of that line was somber and resonates with the audience. I was on the edge of my seat as Loki looked back and said those lines. He was making the ultimate sacrifice and he was saying a final goodbye to his friends. The ending of S2 was legendary and marks a milestone in what good storytelling can do to move an audience. The problem with the MCUs movies isn’t Toxic masculinity- it’s Toxic Feminity. When you elevate both sexes and give proper storytelling, the audience will return to theaters. But if blame the audience for not buying tickets for a cut and paste Action Sequence- then you clearly don’t know what the audience wants.
The Marvels was anything but a cut and paste action sequence, the choreography was actually unique. True, it wasn't a deep emotional journey but it also had zero toxic feminity.

*If he didn’t take the Tesseract from Odin’s vault in Thor Ragnarok, Thanos wouldn’t have been able to find it therefore the snap either wouldn’t have happened or been delayed. 🟦
*If he didn’t let Thanos kill him in Infinity War, Thor would have been snapped out of existence and Thanos would have succeeded in erasing half of the universe..
*If he didn’t use the Tesseract to escape in Endgame, we wouldn’t have the multiverse since he wouldn’t have become the ‘God of Stories’ or create the TVA. 🟦
*Sylvie Killing Kang at the end of ‘Loki S1’ made the next big villain for the Avengers to face in Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars.
*In ‘Loki S2,’ he has to save the multiverse from being destroyed.
*Loki has to recruit heroes from across the multiverse in order to eliminate the ‘Kang Threat.’
*He can manipulate and re write time now that he is the ‘God of Stories.’ 🖊️📖
He is a catalyst.
Doctor Strange saw that the only way it would all work was if Tony sacrificed himself. He saw what Loki was doing behind the scenes. Loki recruited HIMSELF into the TVA after recruiting Mobius and other underdogs in order
to humble and guide him. He was guiding himself and everyone else the ENTIRE time!😌💚
Btw: Loki called Don ‘Mobius’ due to Tony discovering the ‘Mobius’ strip’ in Endgame. He always admired Tony’s ‘glorious purpose’ and that’s why he keeps referring to him in the ‘Loki’ series and Mobius knows ALL about Loki because HE, Loki MADE him that way!😉🧬
He actually planned to get killed by Thanos in order to save Thor from being snapped and he knew that he would come back one way or another. He said these things for a reason! “I assure you brother, the sun will shine on us again” and “You’ll never be a God!”
Despite Frigga saying: ‘You’re so perceptive about everyone but yourself,’ the older, wiser Loki knows himself well enough in order to change the other, younger version of himself. He knows EVERYTHING about the Avengers members in the first Avengers movie for a REASON! 😉
So there. Loki is indeed more important to the Marvel Universe than we all realised. 😌💚
Thor, Hulk and Loki about the ‘Sun.’ God of Stories Loki made it so that the phrase the ‘sun is going down’ to calm the Hulk down and subdue him and the ‘sun shining on him and Thor again’ was to inspire hope and energy. ☀️
Loki is the ‘World Serpent’ Jörmungandr. 🐍
He created the World Tree Yggdrasil otherwise known as the ‘Tree of Life.’ 🌳
His new helmet is made out of ‘universal rock’ with the essence of the Time Stone in its core. 🟢
His previous horned helmets were gold and so is his new throne because he is an incarnation of Midas.⚱️
The Time Stone is green because of Loki. Did he create it? Did he some how get it to Sanctum Sanctorum? 🟢
Did Loki make Heimdall send Bruce to the Sanctum in Infinity War since Loki had been there before (in Ragnarok?) Is that why Bruce mentions ‘Loki’ to Tony, Stephen and Wong informing and warning them about Thanos?
So Loki WAS supposed to take the Tesseract in the Endgame heist after all. Kang planned it! 🤯🟦
He can read and control minds 🟡 He can traverse space 🔵 He can control and manipulate time 🟢 He has died and come back to life many times and sacrificed his soul to save the multiverse 🟠 He can manipulate reality with powerful illusions 🔴 He has the power of the multiverse as he absorbed *THREE* black holes when the loom exploded 🟣 And he can rewrite *EVERYTHING!* 🖊️📖 ✨🤯
He is an *OMNIPRESENT, OMNIPOTENT NEXUS BEING* at this point! He can harness all the power of the *MULTIVERSE* after absorbing time and space from the temporal loom! His power is only second to that of the CELESTIALS!! 🤯
*SCREW* the infinity stones! He *IS* the infinity stones He’s essentially a living *INFINITY GAUNTLET!* 🌀🔴🟠🟡🟢🔵🟣 and said *“Fine. I’ll do it myself.”* And recruit heroes from across the multiverse in order to defeat Kang! 😎
He’s the most powerful Marvel character at this point. Creating the world tree, absorbing the multiverse and governing everything in it, *PERIOD!* No need for infinity stones ANYMORE! 🔴🟠🟡🟢🔵🟣
He (Loki) just *LITERALLY* erased, reset and rebooted and *SAVED* the MCU! 🤯🌀
Is the Time Stone green because of Loki? His eyes were *VERY* green after the temporal loom exploded. Did he create it? Did he some how get it to Sanctum Sanctorum? 🟢
Did Loki make Heimdall send Bruce to the Sanctum in Infinity War since Loki had been there before (in Ragnarok?) Is that why Bruce mentions ‘Loki’ to Tony and Stephen informing and warning them about Thanos?
This show just changed Marvel in just about EVERY WAY! 🤯
He didn’t ‘break the loop.’ He ‘became the loop’ in order to save his friends, family and the entire multiverse. ♾️
Tony sacrificed himself to save half of the universe. Loki sacrificed himself to save the entire *MULTIVERSE!* 🤯
He’s not only the ‘protector of the nine realms’ but *ALL* of existence in *EVERY UNIVERSE!* Making him *MORE* powerful than Odin the ‘All-Father.’ 🤯
He can hear, see, influence and *FEEL* every being in the *ENTIRE MULTIVERSE!* 💚
He didn’t take the infinity stones or crave power anymore but to instead protect the universe and that’s what he’s doing and *THAT* gave him the ultimate power of God! 🥹💚 🔴🟠🟡🟢🔵🟣🚫
It really was ‘Loki All Along.’ 😉💚
Makes you wonder if Loki's desire for and acceptance of redemption (a glorious purpose) was knowing he was "A" Loki, not just "The" Loki. When he met the alternate versions of himself, they were all wildly different from him. Before that, he'd always been raging from his belief that he was destined to be what he always had been. Knowing that every possible fate, great or terrible, would have a Loki to see it through also meant that his own personal fate was his to make. Loki, God of Stories.
perfect. Just perfect. what a genius and talented actor.
beautiful line beautiful ending thank you Loki
Loki truly became something special to me after dark world. Through that and ragnarok, he quickly became my favorite character with his story and conflicts. The Loki series had definitely solidified that.
I just love him. Why’s he so perfect? Omg
Having finished it yesterday and finding out he improvised that line just blew my mind.
I can listen to hiddleston talk all day!!
I’m so sad that we saying goodbye to Loki but what a a send off , both seasons one and two of Loki was just fantastic 💚
Love him
Not just tv series, but Masterpiece.
For you, for all of us😢❤
I haven’t been this invested in a character arc in a while
Loki season 2 will go down as the best piece of MCU cinema.
Season 2 got it right.
Friggin perfect.
Tom acted his ass off.
Loki is probably the best show on Disney Plus. It's so great. And Tom is just brilliant. I hope there will be more of that in the future.
He’s so thoughtful!
Dang it! I’m crying again! 😭
I’m gonna miss him so much 😢
The moment I saw Thor I knew this man was something special and I cannot ever imagine anyone else in the role of Loki.
That's so awesome I totally cried as he struggled up the stairs case and held time together for the people he loved❤
proof how great Hiddleston's acting is
*Hiddleston
I love how nicely done that set was. It really pays off.
As soon as I heard that line I gasped and knew it was a callback to Thor 1. Genius line.
honestly you and Ali Plumb are my fav. interviewers - always respectful, give time & attention and it's about the people you interview and not how funny you guys are.. my respect my man!!!
from denied acting Thor to Legendary LOKI! He's a true LOKI! GENIOUS acting!
He couldn't have thought of anything better. Perfect line. Full circle.👏
Great interview
I could listen to this guy talk all day long. He could be talking about nuclear physics or the MCU. I adore him.....
If only those ‘Loki lectures’ were uploaded on UA-cam! 😭
that is actually so great. that "for you, for all of us"... he also said that in the first movie, right before "dying"
I'm not gonna lie, I've been THOROUGHLY disenchanted with marvel products lately. They all feel like garbage commercial products. Nonsense. Political messaging.
But... I just got round to watching Loki, both seasons, recently and... damn. I was.... actually really really impressed! ... Especially with that amazing finale! Good stuff guys, aside from a couple weak points it was an EXCELLENT series! I am thoroughly impressed.
Tom could crush a side quest of doing audio books. Incredibly talented actor!
He's done about 6 I think
Well done Tom! 👏👏🎉
The two of you work well together, sounds natural
They’ve been friends for YEARS!
I paused before he said the line and rewatched the episode just to finish this interview, and it was totally worth it
2:18
I ALWAYS CRY WHEN HE SAYS THAT LINE
I really feel like "you will never be a god" is such an amazing line and perfect last words
Always thought Loki was a more compelling character than Thor. Great casting at whomever at Marvel picked Tom to play Loki.
Glorious Purpose!
I love how he really understands the character
He has truly cemented his place in the Hall of Fame of Superhero actors with the likes of RDJ, Hugh Jackman, Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, Christian Bale, Christopher Reeves, Ian McKellen, Grant Gustin, Stephen Amell, Tom Welling, Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy.
Love that you included Mcavoy there. His Xavier portrayal is going to be looked back on as legendary in a couple of years.
@@omegasynth had to! He is my all time favourite Hollywood actor...and I love his portrayal so much. Owned the role, even if the later films were subpar
@@omegasynth Incidentally, my favourite McAvoy performance is in the underrated gem Filth!

Where’s Michael Fassbender?!
im so glad they let tom decide what the last line should be he IS loki after all he understands loki beter than anyone hes so passionate about his role and his character thank you #tomhiddleston #loki .
Imagining Tom jogging and he pulls out his earbuds and you hear the music from the first Thor film is pretty funny.
Absolutely perfect last line
Stop I’ve been watching Loki vids all night and I officially broke and started sobbing at this one 😭
I really hope Loki comes back someday. I can't imagine him not.
The ending was amazing and it would be a perfect ending to the MCU
Loki turned the Loom into the Ygdrassil at For All Time.
It's a loop. All of that has to happen for him to become Ygdrassil.
Sometimes I wonder just how much of MCU Loki as we know it only came to be because TH was cast. I'm sad this is supposed to be the end, but I'm glad we got what we did.
I don't super love the Loki series personally, but Loki's last sequence was so damn good. The visual of Yggdrasil, Loki's line coupled, the most beautifully 'plain' Loki outfit we've seen (black horns instead of blatant gold, simple and dark clothing instead of opulent Asgardian diva), all as part of demonstrating that this is a Loki that no longer "misses the truth of ruling."
Tom Hiddlestone really was the best casting choice they could have made for Loki. The way that he wrote this line while jogging and listening to the original score is just great.
Tom so good.
his voice is so calming... so different from Loki's mood
The last line in his first MCU movie is also his last line in his last MCU appearance as Loki, beautiful. MCU is lucky to have you.
Something about him seems tired and jaded..
We want to see you in new stuff Tom Hiddleston, Loki was great. Cant wait to see what you do next.
What an inspiration! Im so heart broken that it’s over tho 😭😭😭😭
Robert D.J, became Iron Man, and nobody else could be him. You can't possibly truly split the actor and the character. I thought nobody else could accomplish that by a deep and great acting. But now, i think Tom Hiddleston and Loki, are the only others who were able to do the same.
Great actor and person
There is no other journalist to do interviews to Tom?’ 😂
One of the best.
Loki from a character we loved to hate, became a character thats can only be loved for what he is now.
Te amo Tom te amo Loki
Gracias por todo gracias a ti a tu personaje salí adelante eres fuente de inspiración
@@penta-cera-tops I thought it was enjoyable.
"Saying the last line from his first MCU movie when saving the universe and sacrificing himself" I think I saw this before
In Thor (2011) he just says: "For you, for all of us" at the scene with Odin.
His glorious purpose fulfilled.
