Wow! This is excellent! I like to vectorize my drawings and this will make my lines even more "loose" like in the traditional drawing, very useful! THANK YOU as always!!!
THANK YOU for doing this in the Light Mode. It is significantly more easy to see what you are doing on the menu bar and the control bar. I hope you agree. I have watched a ton of tutorials on this platform, not just on Affinity, and I must say yours are some of the best. You explain things clearly and logically, in just the right level of detail, with examples, so thank you for that. The only additional improvement suggestion I might add is to "illuminate" cursor clicks, especially when you're not zoomed in as much (as at other times). For example, at 7:00+, you say "I click here, and here, and here" at a zoom level where the cursor is not immediately apparent. Check your video editing software to see if it offers this option. Camtasia has this, as do several other programs. Thanks again for some excellent tutorials. Take care.
@@ArtistWright Happy to help! And I appreciate your great attitude, as well as your great tutorials! Oh, and I FINALLY saw the keystroke graphic "V" in the bottom left of the screen ... on the third time through! 😄
how dare you make an interesting tutorial for the stroke width tool! ^^ ngl, I'm tired, I have ADHD, my meds wore off ages ago and I'm not in hyperfocus. Keeping my attention right now is NOT easy ^^ but I just watched the whole thing without grabbing for my phone. you can take this as a huge compliment ^^ it's a great and helpful tutorial. I like the pacing and speed of the explanations, they stay focused and on point but also nothing is rushed. You show and explain everything but it doesn't get confusing. also, I can't express how much I appreciate the light mode ^^
My friend, this is the best comment this year! I really appreciate it! 🙏 Thank you. Also good to know your view on the light mode ( which I completely forgot to do on my most recent tutorials!
@@ArtistWright well, you made a really nice tutorial ^^ the way you structured it and created the time stamps is also really helpful if sb just wants to check out sth specific. and I completely forgot to mention in my first comment that I also really liked how you showed everything you explained in action with the picture at the end. it made everything much more tangible. and yeah, I struggle with dark mode. it really messes with my eyes ^^ but I'm fully aware that a lot of people love or even need dark mode and I would never expect from anybody to change to light mode just for me. but I'm always super happy every time I stumble over some light mode ^^ but I'm afraid this is not the most valuable feedback for you, because not that many people have the astigmatism of doom XD
It would be nice to be able to use these new features but I can't use 2.5 because it crashes on W11 after the logo screen. Not at all happy with Affinity right now.
Can the pressure points be rotated? So, for example, when increasing size, it would thicken at a 45-degree angle? Can they also let you increase the size on one half of the line differently from the other?
Good question, as far as I'm aware thwr pressure points can't be rotated, but if you added a node to the stroke on those pressure points then you can rotate them.
@@ArtistWright Thanks! I have another Q. At 3:40 when you added a new pressure point, I noticed that the edges of the line got sharp at that point. It creates the effect that the line at that point is flat instead of rounded. It's more noticeable when you expand the size of that pressure point to where it becomes a diamond shape. When I mess with it on my end, I cannot find a way to smooth that out to match the rest of the line. Is there some option that causes this to need to be changed? I haven't been able to find any. Also seen very clearly at 9:30. Thanks.
It's a bit frustrating that they've spent time refining the tool controls, but ignored the missing asymmetry feature. If you can't load the line thickness above and below the centre line, it forces clumsy workarounds for technical line work with wider exterior lines.
For brush tool if you don't know why it isn't work: 1 - Select the vector line 2 - Go to Brush Properties, Increase 'Size Variance' to 100%, Pressure type
Awesome. I had heard about this but as we already had a pressure point tool I wondered what they meant. Now I know. Great tool.
Honestly this tool is a god send for line work
As usual, you tutorials are second to none! Thank you Hendrik
Hi Nordic Lights! As always I appreciate your feedback . Hope you are well
I love your tutorials!!! Thank you! ❤
Thanks Mira

Hi Miro! I appreciate that, yeah it's going to make designing way easier. I'm actually using it right now
@@ArtistWright - Yes, enjoy! I'll try it tomorrow, today I have to do some photos 😁

Great tutorial. You are always so clear with what you are doing. Easy to follow to learn.
Hi Elona, that's great to hear. Thank you
EXCELLENT! Thank you! Time to check out what else you have in the way of Affinity apps.
Thank you! I think you will like it as its all Affinity Designer related

Great stuff I will try and remember to use light mode next time, I'll keep using the timestamps too . I really appreciate real comments like yours.
Very cool! Thank you for the tutorial! I will follow the steps on the app.
Thanks for watching
Great tutorial! Thank you!!!
No worries, happy to hear that
I am new learner . Thanks for great tutorials ❤
My pleasure thanks for watching, I have a new tutorial coming soon with every tool and feature explained in one video. Stay tuned
@@ArtistWright Awesome 😎 Thanks so much 😊
ohhh just dtarted learning AF2 and this is already a game changer! Thanks :)
No worries, my UA-cam is all about Affinity
Really well done, thanks!

I totally missed this new function! Epic
Yeah it's such a simple improvement but soooo needed!

There was a recent update (2.5.2) perhaps that will fix things
This is great does it work with the vector brush tool? I can only make it work on the pen tool. Thanks!
Yes it tried it on one brush and it worked
Thank you sir, and how do you move the profile of one line to another if you want to emulate it?
No problem, go to the pressure profile tab ( under the stroke panel) and save profile.
Thank you!

@grimmdanny ah yes in this scenario I would head over to the pressure profile tab and play with it from there. Maybe adding some more points etc
👍👏thanks!
You're welcome!

Absolutely 💯
