The trick is not to move your pak sao past centre line. Your opponent's momentum is going to do that for you anyway. So keep your pak sao on centre line, allowing you to use it at will. Once you've passed centre line, as you correctly pointed out, you have committed that hand and lost its utility. But the vid is solid on the whole.

Hubad-Lubad is not for fighting it is for drilling. There is no problem with this drill. To be effective with this you must know the meaning of the drill. Because of not understanding the drill, what you do instead is split entry where Filipino Panantucan or Dirty Boxing has this also in the Filipino Kali which we call the Gunting or Crossada Entry.

Also it dosen't take much if you are waring short sleeves you are waring long thick sleeves because when you gnut the arm you mite not get alot out of it but the idea is to slow the apponents punch down or lose him his grip when gunt or strike the back of the arm in the right place or hit the nerve it does more than you mite think unless you are pretty damn tough so there ya go anyway the purpose of the strike is to strike the nerve in the right place to slow down his attack ..

I take all of this stuff with a pinch of salt. A few years ago I've used this in self-defence situations as it was the most applicable thing in such a givhtly confined space (coked up guy in a very busy bar thought he could use his drinking glass as a weapon). But, I've never used it in any Kickboxing/Muay Thai/MMA sparring because majority of guys, even with minimal experience, are not purely linear and entirely uncoordinated. They move against you and never stay static, as expected.
Finally, stay out of bars - drunk (and drugged up) people can be enormously unreasonable 99.99% of the time in times of contention. I wasn't a Christian then, and the best self defence of all, is to not be in situations and places where trouble is more likely to brew up in the first place.

What you can get out of the tricep attack depends on the people involved, and other variables. It'll do more for you if the aggressor has shorter limbs, or if you have something in your left hand (pen, lighter, scissors, etc), you get an angle for control or a pretty decent hit to the tricep.

Great solid video I did wing change 4 many years & got really fast & good at it. Developed a very fast effective wing chung boxer style that allows me superior punching speed to just about everyone I've ever sparred or tried 2 attack me in a street fight. They don't believe the supposed I've mastered & 4 a big guy, many so call fast guys & pro boxers have commended & respected me 4 Jacob very fast punching speed that I used 2 fantastic effect.
I'm proud as I'm told by all the pro boxes I've sparred against that they found it hard not to eat punches while trying to dodge my supervisor punching speed.
One of the pro boxers who was so impressed by my speed, he started 2 give me private lessonsto help improve my skills.
Thanks 2 him l can not only box really well, I gave since combined his boxing with my hi level WC & wow, it really does give me a big speed advantage against other guys.thanks 2 all my teachers & spas, I'm truly blessed 2 have me you guys. It really depends on what you know and how well you know it I've seen it be effective. For example when you pass to the outside instead of adding those other two pops to take control go straight in with the elbow with the same arm that you used for the pass by stepping straight into it or you can block with a circle and from the circle go straight into a linear line and just keep following that circle I mean that's just to name a couple examples. Standard boxing you want to find an opening right but when they swing if you're fast enough and precise enough there's a lot you can do with someone's own momentum.

“Filipino Kali”, similar to Arnis, Eskrima, Balintawak, sticks, knives, empty-hand - all the same movement.

The question is: IF FILIPINO KALI IS EFFECTIVE IN BOXING, WHY DON'T PACQUIAO AND FILIPINO BOXERS USE IT?
FILIPINO KALI, ESCRIMA OR KNIFE FIGHTING USING TRAPPING TECHNIQUES LIKE WING CHUN KUNG FU, are USELESS IN REAL BOXING, KICKBOXING, MMA AND EVEN STICK FIGHTING TOURNAMENTS.

Try being a policeman. You never know what will happen. You just react. Luckily I started in taekwondo at 10. I used to just defend for beers. Ome handed, as a teenager, for beers. Never lost one time. Just defense. Could I just drill an opponent, you bet. But not the bet. I won lots of free beer. The secret? Most people do not use 2 hands, at the same time. Easier to block. Even if karate, you can just block their legs. Blocking is all you need. To win beer. If they get serious. Once they wear down. You can drill them. After a parry. Works every time. I hit like a freight train. Warehouse worker. I can dead lift a,400# barrel of tomatoes. If I punch you, you will feel it. Why there are weight classes in boxing. I could be classified a heavy weight. Never foght professionally, but as a cop and soldier, never lost a fight in my life. If I hit you, you are grounded. One hit. All I ever known. You are down. My experience. Most guys smaller than I. Bigger guys? I use a gut punch, or clavacle nerve pinch. Yes, that works. Just two fingers. It works. Always. Applied pressure. Try it on a friend. For fun. My stepson did not believe me, until I showed him. Now his go to. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣

step in right offline and double windmill down pulling the opponent down. left palm the throat, reverse your stance and throw a big right windmill over his left shoulder hammer the groin. reverse stance left windmill hammer fist to C-6. something along those lines that flows. long fist kung fu. I agree with you. I am a San Soo guy. if you're working out with advanced JKD or Wing Chun players they are impressive. it is important, very important, to pick a lane and stay with it

yah your not doing it right. a person trained correctly would go from the block into an immediate counter strike and then into a combo keeping him off balance and preventing him from being able to throw another punch

The problem with this fool's critique is that he started off by describing the exchange as a drill and then assumed the drill sequence doesn't change in a real life scenario. The dill is equivalent to practicing writing by slowly tracing the letters of the alphabet. In a real life scenario, the first 2 motions are as one, like putting letters together to form words, and the backhand knuckle strike to their triceps is not meant to do anything except parry their strick as well, unless you know how and where to hit the nerves in their arm, which this guy does not. If you do this drill, keep doing it exactly the way your teacher teaches it. This guy is not your teacher.

@@Techiedian yes and my point is the guys who always speak about what if this and that are usually all talk and can't fight. Even the technique with the highest percentage of success will have flaws, it's your job to bring it into sparring and make it work, not to question what if this or that will happen

‘What if’ doesnt cut it when youre dodging bombs. Thats why good fighters drill this stuff until they dont need to question whats coming next.
