It is so easy to become addicted to opioid pain medication. I was on oxy for an injury. When I healed and my doctor stopped writing me a prescription. I went into severe withdrawl the next day. I had no idea I was in withdrawl. I thought I contracted the swine flu as it was during the outbreak of the swine flu. I was with a friend who saw how sick I was and even though the hospital was less than 5 min away they called an ambulance. I was admitted and the doctor soon diagnosed it was withdrawl symptoms. They would only give me fluids and a non opioid pill which only helps u sleep. I learned withdrawl can last 2-4 weeks and I was in such severe unbearable pain it wasn't even a thought to not get anything I could get my hands on to bring me relief. That was 10 years ago. And I have used opioids ever since up until 6 months ago when I got clean. My point is, I don't think a lot of opioid users intentionally become addicts. I think it is irresponsible on the doctors behalf and not enough education around opioids and the physical dependency they cause. It only takes 4 days of opioid use for ur body to build a tolerance and for the individual using it to experience withdrawl symptoms.
Everyone assumes that you must be taking more than prescribed in order to become addicted. Those people have clearly never taken any prescription pain killers.

I was hooked on oxys hard for a long time, u do have to abuse pills to be addicted. A physical/chemical dependence is different then addiction. If you are taking the pills like you are supposed to your doctor will not be prescbribing them for that long. If u found a way to get them on the street then u are not taking them like u are supposed to anymore. To be truly addicted the shit has to be ruining your life, take a perc every few hours is not even close to addiction
Doug you don't know what you are talking about. If you take any amount of pain pills for an extended period (which some HAVE to take for a long time) you WILL get addicted. Period. The amount taken has nothing to do with if you get addicted. It's how long you take it.
Doug_E_Fresh7980 yeah you’re a dumbass. I’ve been on opioid pain medication for nearly 10 years so no, doctors don’t just prescribe for “a short period of time”
Any one who abuses opiates/opioids knows you have to continuously raise your dose to maintain that level of comfort...I am sure he took more than prescribed chasing the dragon is a huge piece of addiction. Pain killers are extremely addictive mentally and physically.
The exact samething happend to me 2 a day like dr said 4 weeks later i was out and 1st day i was fine 2nd day i thought i caught the flu really bad flu tho go t ER find out those are withdrawals it took seven years get clean i finally did it 8 years clean
I'm so confused he didn't do dancing with the stars till after season 3 I thought. Season 3 was filmed in the summer of 2010 he did dancing with stars in the end of September till October 2010.
He lies in this interview. He said he was doing that stuff before jersey shore. Selling 30lbs of bud every week along with 7 to 10 zips of yay and 100 percs and a 100 zannys a week
He didn't blame the doctor... he said so himself. He said your body becomes needy of the medication and I guess he was not strong enough to avoid the temptation or he was dealing with an adiction.
***** Nobody is. We trust the doctors cause they have studied for a long time. But they dont teach addiction in school to doctors. Anyone getting these pills from a doctor, trust that what he says is true and that they need to take them. If he was in pain, i dont doubt he was upping his dosage. Everyone does. 40mg stops working as well as it did, so he will increase you by 10-20 mgs. Then that stops working, then they up you 20 more mg. It's a scary cycle that literally ANYONE can get sucked into. I know people that swore they would never let it happen to them, fast forward 5 years and they hurt themselves at work, and now they are full blown. I said it would never happen to me too...but it did. Clean now 4 years 2 months.
Prescription meds are addicting. People don't realize the affects of it become conditional & your body builds a tolerance wanting more & more. So sad.

Watching this after reading his book....he was still addicted at this time, and he knew how to fool people.
Any one who abuses opiates/opioids knows you have to continuously raise your dose to maintain that level of comfort...I am sure he took more than prescribed chasing the dragon is a huge piece of addiction. Pain killers are extremely addictive mentally and physically.
I feel like it’s the same story for everyone who gets addicted to painkillers. It’s sad and tough
Opioids are addictive that's one of the side effects
He didn't hurt his neck and back until season 5 or 6 when they went to Italy. He ran into the concrete wall.
yes when that juice head was gonna kick the shit out of him..so he ran into a wall to avoid a fight and an ass kicking..
@@albertcoppola9287 bruh he smashed his head and then got up and still was willing to fight. This comment is stupid
If you combine alcohol with painkillers.. it will mess you up.
It will kill you. Lots of people die from drinking and then popping opiates. You get suppressed lungs and the brains stops telling them to work.
he SHOULD blame the doctors
No he shouldnt you stupid fuck

Tell me please, wtf is the point of a clip??? min?? whyyyyyy
Nothing apparently. All he said was he admitted to becoming addicted to pain pills, other than that, I saw no purpose lol
I thought he was doing pills on season 1.

DWTS was in 2010, season 3 of jersey shore was in 2011
Bs you admit on the other show you said you were on drugs on jersey shore
He lies in this interview. He said he was doing that stuff before jersey shore. Selling 30lbs of bud every week along with 7 to 10 zips of yay and 100 percs and a 100 zannys a week

Stop blaming the doctors!
