hey Sebastian! So i clicked on my clip, use the pen tool to mark around the object that i wanted gone. When i got done outlining, it didnt change the screen like it did for you around 1:28. Then i go to click masks under the clip name and it doesnt have the add/subtract dropbox next to masks. What am i doing wrong?

Is there anything you can do when you have a spot on your lense (ice/snow) that you want to remove but you have a very dynamic background (skiing). So the spot is stationary but the background behind the spot is moving.

Hello! I greatly appreciate your video, however I am slightly confused. When I create the mask with the pen tool in After Effects, the mask that pops up for me is all black instead of the alpha white and grey boxes. How do I configure AE so that the masks create an alpha effect instead of all black? Thanks in advance for your help and for your content.

Does anyone have solution for mask being black instead of checkered like his? Even when I turn mask into subtract it just inverts the black to inside the shape.... this is infuriating

Thank you for the awesome tutorial. For method one, in After effects, once I draw the mask, the mask color is solid black but in your tutorial the mask was transparent. Could you tell me how to get that same effect?

Hey @paresh were you able to figure this out? I'm having the same issue and setting the mast to "subract" isn't helping me. Whenever I draw the matte it just remains a black box when I render it in AE/Premiere.
@@hazardt18 nope. it did not work for me. Just keep seeing the black box.
@@hazardt18 i believe this is because you aren't selecting it as a mask but an object! make sure to properly select the layer then the mask option
@@SebastienJefferies how do you select it as a mask? i followed your instructions and it always fills a black box no matter how i do it. i click the clip, then use the pen tool to draw around the object. once the object is drawn it is just a black box.

the after effects is the easiest and best option. except for a 10 minutes video it takes my computer running a ryzen 5700x 8 hours and 11 minutes to finish
First one is not working. It just doesn't do anything and I followed step by step

Hello bro, I have been watching a lot of your tik tok related videos. I could definitely use your help. I have tried almost everything, but no matter what, right after i try to upload a video on my phone the quality gets decreased right after the initial phase of processing, and if the video is 1080p it gets reduced to 720... and if it is 720p it gets reduced to 480p. I render all my videos in premier pro and use the exact same settings as you for exporting, but it still happens. I have tried uploading videos as small as 11MB and still the same result. Also i have data saver turned off and i dont get the upload hd option on my phone. Secondly i have also tried uploading directly from pc but still the same result. Note: the video quality gets lowered even before the upload is complete, it gets lowered at the initial processing phase, when you get to choose the length of the video and get the next option for the first time. Help me out please.
have you used the handbrake settings in my instagram reels quality video? also are you uploading on iPhone or Android?

@@SebastienJefferies update : i noticed that even though i compress my video, the file size gets increased after uploading to tik tok. My video originally was only 20 Mb … i uploaded to tiktok and when i saved it… the file that got downloaded was 63 MB large … any way to fix that,!?
@@shanvader3422 That's just to do with the way you saved the file, the saved file from tiktok won't be as good quality as your original as it's compressed with their systems
@@SebastienJefferies yea but when i save my file.. the file size for that is bigger than what i uploaded… but when i save some one else’s.. their file size is way too small but far more superior quality

Don't have After Effects so 1 I can't do. 3 my video isn't fixed so can't use. 2 almost does it but because video is moving closer and panning up the object is always under the mask. The 47th video I've watched for the 47th hour of editing a video with some stupid drone operator (me) in the way! Ha!
