Hugelkulture

Hugelkulture is a German word meaning "raised bed." Place logs at the base of the raised bed. The logs absorb water and keep the soil moist for longer periods of time. Also, the logs release nutrients as they are decomposing. #gardeningtips #ecofriendly #permaculture

I suggest more rotten wood... I mean really rotten...bordering on spongy-rotten. The "spongier" the better.
Those logs won't absorb substanial water for years and years and years...
