    This has to be my favorite video of all time. Not only does it feature the player I’m trying to emulate, but the commentary, the finite details, the graphics, and the high-quality video is phenomenal! There’s a good chance I will end up watching this video 1 million times over the next few years.

    This is the swing a majority of amateurs should emulate. No crazy movements or excessive shallowing. Its simple and effective. I hate the current trend of shallowing. tips like letting the clubhead fall behind you make we annoyed. proper backswing will not require manipulation in the downswing.

      I don't get the swallowing thing either. Why point the club outside the ball when it needs to eventually steepen to point at the ball again anyway.

      Sounds like someone can’t figure out how to shallow😂 there’s a reason that’s the trend we see in the modern golf swing. Feels good when you figure it out I’ll tell you that much.

    The DTL driver clearly shows a pull fade - how is this achieved? His swing path is left of where his feet are aligned? 🤔 3:30

    What many golfers need to realize is that other player's swings are great to study, but no so great to emulate. Every golfer's body is different, therefore your swing will be different, and you need to optimize your movements so that they synchronize with your mind and biology. Is there an objectively correct swing pattern that every golfer should emulate? Maybe. However, that absolutely does not mean that you will make better progress in your game by completely rebuilding your swing to emulate a pro's, vs implementing a few small changes to optimize the swing you already have. Every case is different and you should use wisdom when putting study into practice.

  • @eddycangolf

    Insane that his apex on driver is only 90Ft with 175+mph ball speed, while most long hitters are around the 140-160Ft apex.

    • @eddbenson7223
      @eddbenson7223 Рік тому +1

      Yeah, I bet his spin rate is higher, too. IMO, it makes me think he could strike the ball further if he hit it higher with less spin.

    • @eddycangolf
      @eddycangolf Рік тому +1

      @@eddbenson7223 I don't think it's as much spin as it is launch. My thought is he does this on purpose to keep the ball in play. Anything 175+mph ball speed on the PGA tour is enough to compete with the best. Especially with the firm and fast conditions, they play on a week-to-week basis.

    Curious about the ball placement on the fairway wood. Always thought it was played up more in the stance, where as he is in the middle. Is this preference or for a certain shot shape?

    • @ColinHoernig
      @ColinHoernig Рік тому +2

      Keeping it closer to the middle of his stance allows it to be hit earlier in the downswing, so less dynamic loft, keeping the ball lower at impact. This is a good way to hit stingers or fairway finders when it’s windy or you want to play a safer shot that doesn’t balloon up as much.

    • @johnbennett1162
      @johnbennett1162 Рік тому +4

      Amateurs are typically bad about trying to help the ball up and adding loft at impact and/or controlling low point. If you want to know why ams can’t hit 3 wood off the deck, it’s because of bad advice of forward ball position and hitting like a driver. Move ball back and imagine low point just in front of the ball if you want to flush 3 woods off the deck.

    • @bvokey8842
      @bvokey8842 6 місяців тому

      More toward the middle sounds to me like it’s going to be a thin shot, low trajectory, maybe due to wind conditions?

    • @joshuahanson8543
      @joshuahanson8543 Рік тому

      Not as far as I can see in this video. If anything you could say it looks like maybe he quarter overlaps, but you can see his left index finger is clearly not covered by his right pinky. I’ve ten finger gripped my whole life and always wondered which guys on tour are making it work for them. It’s reassuring to see!

    • @joshuahanson8543
      @joshuahanson8543 Рік тому +1

      I figured it out! He rests his right pinky between/on top of the left index and right ring. I’ve never thought to try this, but to me it feels great! 👍

    PGA commentators suggest you don't get to be too cute with "fairway metal" atleast stick with "metal-wood" or let it be wood. Because if you are so want to be prexise then tell for every player has he "fairway metal", "fairway carbon", "fairway titanium".... Titanium is metal but Carbon is not, i hope you don't get too cute it will backfire...The it can get so far you will say 7 tungsten/iron 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️?
