Little Help for the calculation 1st Job..... 66€ Spareparts + 33€ Bonus Task + 33€ Bonus Job = 132€ Bill for the client // 132€ - 56€ Spareparts (66€ - 10€ refund) = 76€ Profit......... So you end up with 2076€............ 2nd Job........800€ Spareparts + 400€ Bonus Task + 400€ Bonus Job = 1600€ Bill for the client // 1600€ - 678€ Spareparts (800€ - 122€ refund) = 922€ Profit......... So you end up with 2998€.
Roger Putzmann Of course the bill for the client! Thanks :)
Roger Putzmann Seems like Squirrel needs to go back to math classes
Roger Putzmann, where's the refund from? :-?
The owner of the car pays the 800 for the part.
***** Hence money spent on job.
That makes sense now!
That makes sense
***** Ahh... Confused Squirrel in his natural habitat. Gotto love confused Squirrel. XD
Cirno Haha yes, i thought it was funny. He just seemed to make himself more confused each time he thought about it.
You asked for a fuel filter replacement sir, but I did you one better... took the rear door right off your car LOL
Removed all parts from the car but ones needed to be repaired.10topgear/10
If my mechanic wanted to remove the back door in order to replace the fuel filter I would find another mechanic :)
I know I am late, and someone has probably said this, but $1600=800+400+400. You charge the customer $800 for the part, a bonus from the game for completing and doing a good job, and the initial amount from agreeing to work on the vehicle (service fee.)
Who else cringed when he thought the fuel pump was the fuel filter?
How the hell do you think that's common knowledge?
I just assume that people know cars if they're playing a game like this.
also, there's the fact that every part is written when you look at it.
Alexander Gusset This apparently was his first time playing. I'd assume people interested about cars would play this game, doesn't necessarily mean they know a lot about them.
Alexander Gusset yes
Lol i get excited every time i see an upload Squirrel thank you so much
Me too. He's one of the few people who always makes my day better. :D
I'm not a gamer at all, but as a petrolhead, I love this game! Thanks for your in-depth review!
Oh man has this series of games come a long way
they should add random mini games to simulate the more fun bits of working on cars, such as; friends never returning tools, bolts breaking, previous mechanic hack jobs, stripped bolts, spaghetti ball wiring job etc. My favorite trick is getting my big dumb hand into places it really shouldn't be able to fit into.
Don't get how you struggle to understand it... it's rather simple.
$800 spent on replacing the part - therefore you get $800 back.
$400 and $400 for completing the job and the task, totals another $800.
$800 + $800 - $800 (that you laid out for the part) = profit of $800.... simple.
... except the profit was 922 not 800. -.-
Irrelevant Noob 922-800=122, which is what he got from selling the old part.
John, i see NOW. Unfortunately, thefiestaguy never mentioned this in his "rather simple" explanation.
Great vid! I was hoping you where gonna play this. Thanks!
Im loving that 2 post hoist sound
Woahhhhh, awesome video squirrel!
ITS A BONUS FOR COMPLETING THE JOB
Paul, the line "Money spent on the job" is reffering to the money that you spent on parts. But you get the money back at the end, because the client is paying for it. In the first place though, you get the money from your bank account. So it just gives you back the money on the parts.
The money you get in the end, is the money from the bonuses and from selling the old parts :D Hope it helped. Cheers from Romania and sorry for any grammar mistakes. ^^
Paul the bonus for completing tasks is how much you get for completing one task in the job. In real terms you take a job which has multiple tasks to complete before you complete the job if this makes any sense meaning for every task you complete you get that bonus for completing that one task. For example say you take a job with two tasks and the bonus for completing tasks is 200 if you complete both tasks you get 400 in total plus bonus for completing the job. Hope this helps you in future Episode keep up the good work man!
14:39 Lol....I was yelling at the screen, you took out the wrong part! Love your videos man, keep them coming.
dodgerfn2 lol me too
The song at around 3:32 is "VOIA - Beauty Standards" if anyone wants to know.
I know simulators are only so realistic, but since cars are important, this is a good basis to start learning how to fix them. This game would cut a lot of the time to learn how cars work. Add in working on your own spare cars in the process, basic online research, reading manuals, etc., and you could be a decent mechanic with this, excluding anything to deal with the sophisticated parts of cars, such as electronics, computers, etc.
Just got this today and the first thing I noticed in comparison to 2014 is how much more complicated it is, it took me 15 minutes to fix a piston with conrod, just to get at it alone is the time consumer. Love the game too!
Be great to see you play some Truck Mechanic Sim 2015 when it's released.
the money that you get back is the "refund" of how much you had to spend and that gets added with the bonuses. so when you spend money you get that same amount back on top of what ever the bonus would be. hope it helped
+Squirrel I'm sure you probably picked up on this by now, but the breakdown of earnings looks like an invoice, with parts being material, and bonuses being labor costs.
It said that you have to have a free spot in the middle to take a job so maybe if one car is on the lifter and the middle is free, you can take another job.
Hendlton I put two cars of the lifters, and have one car sitting in the middle ready to go onto a lifter.
A real mechanic makes the customers pay for the parts
True
+Martin Henriksson z
No, if you use that logic, you'd only pay a mechanic for labor and get a new part for free, essentially ripping off the mechanic who payed for the new part in the first place.
The wheel can be take off(and easier) on high lifter.
and the costmer will pay you ALL the money spent on part.
From what I understand, you get paid back for the money spent on parts while the bonuses would be the equivalent of cost of labour.
So basically you spent $800 on a part, so you charge the customer 800 + the cost of labour.
It's weird how it doesn't specify this but that would make the most sense.
i really like this video PLEASE may you make some more i find it fascinating as well as fun
fabulous squirrel, the camera is confusing the game dosen't follows all the same rules as previous game but is along same lines. also backed after you did, so glad with the game so far
I bet someone already explained this, but basically what is happening is this; You pay 800$ out of pocket for the part, then you charge the customer 800$ when you bill them for the part (so you do not loose money) Then the other two incomes are basically your markup for ordering the part (a supplier markup) and the other is a 'labour' charge.
The customer pays for the parts you bought so he gives you that money. (income)
You'll be a pro in no time, Paul!
It's giving you a rundown on how much it took to get the job done as well as the bonuses for completing the job. You're getting paid for the job itself as well as the bonuses.
To answer your other question Paul yes the replacement part bug is still in the game if you replace a broken part, the new part has to be in that spot not one of the other like parts on the car. aka if you have to replace a brake pad from from the left front and a brake disk from the right front you cant put the pad from the right front on the left front because the game would view the part as not being replaced.
Ruben mcCourtney However, with the last update the car's parts that dont need replacing will be at least the same condition level that is required to fix the broken parts. Thus if the pads on the left front tire need to be replaced and you put the pads from one of the other wheels (assuming that they do not need replacing as well) in its place, the game now views that as fixed. So it does not matter where the replacement parts go anymore it seems.
And yes, in all cases (except rare exceptions), filters are changed on a maintenance schedule. Air filters can be sometimes cleaned, but oil and fuel filters are always replaced for a new filter. (the idea of repairing them is somewhat stupid, because they are usually dirt cheap and improperly "repaired" or installed or not changed according to reccomendations CAN and WILL cause serious engine and other system damage)
I knew you would play car mechanic sim 2015!
Squirrel the client pays you 1600 your bonus zeros out everything so your making money
rasmusfgh so weird how people don't get that.
rasmusfgh yup me either
same
You are making back what you spent on parts... unless you repair hem, then you are making the retail value of the parts, which is a good way to make money.
the two bonuses are what you get ON TOP OF the money you charge for labor, shop fee, etc.
really like the look of 2015 very nice
great video :D car mechanic simulator is my favorite of all simulator games and your videos are awesome :D
Pretty neat game Squirrel!
I'm italian and at 22:06 I laughed my head off XD
Yes, that's italian, "caffè" is coffee, "caffè lungo" is "long coffee", etc.
when it says money spent on job that's how much you spent on the job and whatever you spend on the job for parts ect. the customer has to pay for so that's why it was added to your total earnings.
It said in the tutorial that you get every penny back from what you bought so the thing that happens is that you get the money back from the parts you bought. Then you get a bonus for completing the job and the task
Unless someones already said it.
I think the game is working on a 'Real Life' Basis - whereby the garage purchases the parts at first and then the customer covers the cost when they pay the bill, plus any labour work and charges :)
Hi Squirrel. Good job on the video!
They do that because you know what they say "lefty loosey righty tighty"
and also you get money for completing the job in the first place and the bonuses add up to money spent
Bolt Hellcat. That is a hell of a name for a 60s/70s muscle car. I hope he works on that next it looks interesting
I've watched all his Car Mechanic Sim videos from the very start because they are totally fascinating from a pathology view. There is some form of learning difficulty in full force here, and I'm not kidding - totally serious.
He professes logical progression and processes as a goal, but then proceeds by adding in a lot of unnecessary complexity that both messes up the goal and confuses him as to how to proceed. He begins a task and then entirely forgets what the goal is, or where he began. I would love to have a Psychologist watch and analyze the thought processes to give further insight.
Utterly fascinating to see a brain that has high level puzzle solving ability, but some area is interfering with the ultimate process. You could serve up an entire research process or university class just studying how it works.
For the skills and whatnot just right click on one of the toolboxes in the garage.
Yay! Thanks Paul!
Wish they had kept the unbolting noises really liked that feature
one of the best graphics games ever made
The bonuses cover the cost of what you spend in part buying, so then you just receive income, as if you never spend any money at all.
the way the income works is that when you buy an item, sure you spend the money but the customer has to pay you for the part as you wouldn't give them a free part
Cool wire tuck in there !
The problem is for me is the oil changing issue is that I tried my best in the CMS classic one. However, all I got is an oil pan removal problem. How could this be done the right way? I tried this, I still have that problem.
loved the last one... soon as I get a new hard drive i'm definitely getting it
Squirrel are you going to play any more elite dangerous?
Nice! It looks amazing! When the phone rung for the first time I looked around in my own house for my phone XD Also, I think that since it is the very beginning of the game, it might be giving you back the money you spent on parts as kind of a jump-start for you. Either that or some difficulty setting.
Keep up gud work love the videos can't wait for truck mechanic sim gud job great work
Yes a new CMS!!
Squirrel you get paid for the money you spend on parts, so if you spend $350 on parts, you get paid $350 under the "money spent on job" So on the steering rack job, you basically got free parts plus $800 AND the money you got from selling the old one.
Finally a new video! And I didn't expect to say that in #YOTS
Love how confused you're getting over the invoicing. The Client pays for parts and labor.
At 19:25 it was probably extra for labour costs or for the sale of parts
Them placing a way for you to exit to the test track and auction center...We get to build our own cars?!?!
R4 means that it is a radial engine and it has 4 cilinders
I'm sorry if Paul already said which keyboard he has but, is that a Corsair mechanical one with MX Brown or red switches I hear?
SQUIRREL it is just a BONUS its not what he pays you for the job its just the extra
Haha, 7:53 "Do we... hide the body?" Yes. Yes you do, Squirrel
Go to the tool box it has all the upgrades, like faster unbolting
The costumer is the one that is paying for the part not you. And then of course you get the bonuses.
Even though you spent 800 on the rack, the customer has to pay you back when they pick up the car so that 800 becomes income after it becomes outcome. So you get it back at the end of the job.
What needs to be repaired MUST go in the exact place
Spark plugs, piston, and so on
So keep track of what needs new part
Hey Paul, any fsx coming soon?? Btw congrats on #YOTS!
Jack Small Going to be P3D. I'm close to being able to record after quite a lot of installation and configuration
Squirrel Paul is P3D better for installing addons than FSX. Every time I install an addon for FSX, there are always errors in one way shape or form, so is P3D better for this?
Squirrel p3d is the best good choice mate :) are you gonna fly in the 777?
P3D is worth it, if you have enough money. It is very well designed, but it is still based on the FSX engine, so expect some glitches once in a while.
Alex Nutt Remember that not all FSX add-ons are supported in P3D so watch out for that! :)
Thanks for a the rusty experience, I would like more even if it means restating in 2017 :)
Yeah, the money you spend on parts is included in your pay. The customer reimburses you for the money, plus the money you get for completion
Paul The rusty texture shows how damaged a part is, I figured this out watching another youtuber. Also most times I go and get my car fixed I pay parts and labour so whatever you spend on parts would you not bill your customer for. P.s. it is possible to take wheels off the car with it up on the lifter.
The pain in your voice when you realised you got the fuel pump and not the filter =D! I feel this game should be quite the step up from the previous game.
Bolt thing comes down to none thing: Righty tighty, lefty loosey.
Nothing confusing about the payment system. That $132 for that first job you got is the money you're were getting paid total, but thats not your profit, that amount is half profit and the other half is the reimbursment for the money spend on parts
(ps. I know this is an old video, just had to respond haha) I bought this game myself few days ago. btw nice video ^^
Thanks for this Paul, just got accepted into college for a 3 year mechanics course, this should help a bit :D
Me to i need 4 years tho? I have already don 1 year and its very nice
Hey squirrel its still a better turtorial than in the 2014 wich basicly was press the lifter and turn on the radio.
Just picked this game up for $2, lol. I'm hooked already.
i got it today for 1.49 inc every dlc from fanatical
$800 is chargeable to the customer, so as you bought the parts yourself from the garage account, it is paying you back, so the money goes back into your account.
Watching that maths and not realizing that the people are obviously paying for the parts you spend was so so so so so so frustrating... thanks for the video though :D
lol lol I was waiting for you to work out the difference between a fuel pump and a fuel filter lol
Wow it's been a long time since you have done mircanic simulator 😀
This really reminds me of Gear Head Garage now
On the profit calculator it seems like the first value isn't correctly described. A better description would maybe be "Parts costs" which is how much you charge the customer for the new parts you bought.
You get payed for the work!
i'm in no way mechanically minded but when something says "accessible from underneath the car" put the damn thing on the lifter and press UP! lol it's not really difficult
HAHA, loved it when the phone was ringing "Yeah yeah, I'll be with you in a minute" XD
You can take more then 1 job long as the middle workbay is empty.
I've been playing since its release, there's so many many new features easy one your comfortable with the new interface, I've currently got over 13000 experience, and over $90k I'm currently restoring my 5th car
Really good :)
The owner of the car pays for the parts you need to buy, just like in real life. If I go to the mechanic with a busted fuel pump, then I have to pay for the mechanic's service AND the new part, it's how they turn a profit.
Nice video. On an unrelated topic when will you be doing an another video on fsx/P3D?
